The attorney will also be responsible for community education, tenant organizing and litigation to address housing-related health hazards that threaten vulnerable, low-income tenants. The attorney will have additional duties in protecting the civil rights of underrepresented groups in such areas as consumer protection, educational rights, inmate civil rights, police practices, and disability rights.

The attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation, including litigation, to individuals or groups of clients; producing educational materials for the community; conducting legal screenings; assisting the client population in systemic reform efforts including legislative and regulatory advocacy; conducting training and workshops for community members and staff at community-based organizations; and coordinating with the work of the other FHLP attorneys, legal assistants and nonprofit and pro bono law firm co-counsel and partners.
