This is one of hundreds of wooden boats I photographed while traveling along the Cape. There is something very calming and peaceful about an empty fishing boat anchored in the water. I can stare at this composition for hours. Its peaceful, poetic and brings a sense of zen.

This painting was inspired from a series of photos I took on a trip to Provincetown. God I love this area - it's an artists haven! There is so MUCH beauty, history, architecture and subjects to paint on the Cape. I could sit observe and paint 24/7 for years and not run out of things to paint! This painting was inspired by 2 boats anchored side by side. I see connection between these two wooden vessels in the stillness.

This is one of my all time favorite paintings. This photo was taken in the Fall on the

Bay in the early morning. Sea Birds were on a feeding frenzy that morning. The muted colors and the early morning mist was just magnificent! I have this piece in my personal collection so I can be reminded everyday of the spiritual beauty in that fragment in time.

I have always inspired to explore creative new ways to design the dragonfly. In this piece, the meaning of the Dragonfly is highlighted through the use of words, colors, transparencies and light. This mixed media art was created using ink, acrylics and charcoal on paper.

The notes within the drawing are written partially in mirror image similar to how Da Vinci included notes in his art. It reads…

”Life is never quite the way it appears, but is always filled with light and color. Dragonfly can help you see through your illusions and thus allow your own light to shine forth. Dragonfly brings out brightness of transformation and the wonder of colorful new vision.”

I did this painting the day before I left to Denver, CO last week. I was going through some of my digital photos of Wetlands that I shot this summer off the coast of Delaware. This particular area was in the Gordon's Pond State Park near Rehoboth Beach. It's a place where stunning views of marshes and vanishing landscapes can been seen -- especially if it's a sunny day!
