I have known for some time now, that at some point in my career as a holisitic practitioner, that I would make the shift from practicing massage, to exclusively offering Energy Healing. And I believe that the time is right now, as it is now more than ever for so much of the world. It’s now time for all of us to begin to honor, explore, and practice our own “deepest intents” and to do these things in service to the world.

A Peaceful Touch Healing Arts will now be focusing exclusively on the Energy Healing Arts.

More specifically, I will be practicing Reiki, Acupressure, and Reflexology. As well, as I continue to learn them through continuing education, I will also give my clients the opportunity to experience sessions of Zero Balancing (which I recommend highly to musicians and singers!) and Polarity Therapy.

I am also gearing up to offer many classes and workshops on Reiki healing this year in Duluth (and possibly one or two classes in Minneapolis).

More and more, I have seen the wonderful healing shifts on all levels (mind, body, and spirit), that my clients are experiencing as a result of energy healing bodywork. I will now be dedicating my time to assisting those who come to me – who are committed to their own physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and awakening.

It is truly a joy to be honoring this – my deepest intent – and to be stepping into unknown realms of healing and transformation as a practitioner. For all of you who have not yet experienced any of the energy healing therapies, I highly encourage you to try! I offer (as always) a First Reiki Session Special of $30 for a one-hour treatment.

My father often jokes to me that I live in the “frozen north” whenever I speak of my life in Minnesota. Now that I’m in Duluth, he sometimes uses the phrase – “The Arctic Circle” – when referring to the Northland area of Minnesota.

All kidding aside, winter can be very stressful, and there are many more reasons to keep our body, mind, and spirit relaxed and nurtured. We stay inside.. a lot! Bacteria and viruses can thrive in closed-in spaces. We aren’t getting as much Vitamin D from the sun (a vital immune building element). Many of us load up on holiday feasts. Moreover, lots of us have varying degrees of seasonal affective disorder in winter, affecting our moods. Even our aches and pains that we could easily handle in spring or summer can have a greater effect on our well-being and immune systems in winter.

Me personally, I take some time out to receive a few more Reiki treatments in winter. Reiki is a hands-on energy healing technique that is gentle, non-invasive, and at the same time very profound. I liken it to a “massage for the inner organs and the soul” as warm, radiant energy surrounds the body and is channeled through the Reiki practitioner’s hands to vital energy systems of the body.

Reiki has been shown to enhance the immune system and can act as an compliment to the healing of nearly any physical or emotional ailment. From all of my years of working as a massage and bodywork practitioner, I have learned that healing is indeed an ART. When we heal from a body, mind, and spirit perspective, this artfulness is manifested through our very lives. We are more than our aches and pains. We are more than a medical diagnosis. We are more than what we ourselves – as well as others – perceive.

When deciding to move my holistic practice in Duluth, MN, I wanted to create a space that was as unique and heart-felt as the ideals I hold in my personal life. I believe that healing comes about by getting in touch with the core of oneself. Just like emotion, expression, art, and passion, healing comes from a deep place in each one of us. As whole beings, we cannot disconnect our body from our emotions, our mind from our spirit, or our learning from our experience.

My approach to massage, acupressure, and reiki is just like that. It is integrated. It focuses on the whole person, not just a muscle ache, a stressor, or a symptom. As human beings, we experience our life on many levels. Healing should be focused on all of those levels as well. It should be a journey with deep meaning, not just a quick fix.
