October 1, 2015. Just finished my bed bath routine here and having a conversation with my mother. <3

October 2, 2015. I will be a great conversationalist someday. haha! My favorite word is "agi" hihi

October 3, 2015. My husband took this photo while we were sleeping. Koko loves to sleep on my arms. <3

October 4, 2015. We went to W Hotel Sentosa for her ninang's birthday and she poses
like a boss here. haha She explored the lobby, looked around the beautiful trees, and met a lot of people on that day.

Japan Day 3: Takashimaya Mall and Ueno Park

March 9, 2015. Day 3 of my Japan series. :D After our breakfast at Jurin we headed to
Takashimaya mall and Ueno Park.
Our itinerary for the whole day:

TAKASHIMAYA
A 14th floor department store located at Sendagaya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

We explored the B1 floor because FOODS! haha B1 is area for Japanese & Western Confections, World foods, and Japanese cuisine <3

Then we went to the 6th floor coz my husband said he will buy my dream bag,

Tax refund- Just show your passport, shopping receipts, and purchased items at the counter.

I got a Takashimaya's Hello Kitty shopping card :D Tourist privilege! :D
Any tourist will receive a 5% discount shopper's card from the tax refund counter
at the 2nd floor of the store.

After shopping, we kept our our shopping bags in a coin locker at JR station because we still have daytime activity on that day. Very convenient! We chose the large size that cost ¥500.

UENO PARK
An area rich in nature and dotted with museums and historic structures. It is relaxing area where the old downtown atmosphere still remains.

Ueno park is huge so you need to take a photo of the guide map

Kiyomizu is popular among women who wish to have children.

Cleansing area at Ueno Park. How do they do it?

1. First, take the ladle in your right hand and use the water from the ladle to wash your left hand.
2. Next, place the ladle in your left hand and use the water from the ladle to wash your right hand.
3. Place the ladle in your right hand again. Cup your left hand and pour water into it. Rinse your mouth using the water from your left hand.
* Never touch the ladle with your mouth
* Do not drink the water
4. Wash your left hand again. Finally, after washing your hand, tip a ladle full of water so that the water washes over the handle

-salmon belly
-rosemary leaves
-pink himalayan salt or regular salt
-pepper
-happycall for grilling OR non-stick regular frying pan

Heat the pan. Put the salmon belly and rub the salt, rosemary leaves, and pepper Wait for 5 minutes. Voila!!!

March, 9, 2015. We woke up at 7 am just because of the BREAKFAST BUFFET!!! hahaha :D
If you are planning to book at Keio Plaza Hotel or staying in the nearby area you must try to dine here because they offer international menu options, a mix of English and Japanese dishes, and the food is oh so AH-MAH-ZING!!!! I may sound biased saying this coz I love Japan! LOL But honestly the food was excellent! My favorite part is they have a live omelette counter. See photo below. :D Lastly, the staff are friendly and always smiling at us. Japanese are like that, yow! :D

Japanese Maternity Photo Shoot

August 1, 2015. The start of my maternity leave. :D My husband and I went for a photo shoot at the Japanese garden (Jurong East, SG). The theme was (as usual) Japanese! ha ha! :D I brought my Yukata that day which my husband bought last March in Japan. Before that photo shoot, we went to Liang Court shopping mall to look for Geta or Yukata slippers. Too bad the big sizes were out of stock and only small sizes were left. FYI big feet woman here (size 9 or 10) :)) After that we explored the whole shopping mall just for my Yukata slippers (my husband is the sweetest he doesn't want me to feel disapointed hehehe) then finally we saw this Japanese supermarket called Meidi-Ya, they don't have Yukata slippers but we found a Japanese cloth slipper which is nice and I think it blends well with my Yukata. So voila! We bought it as an alternative for a Yukata slipper.

March 8, 2015. Day 2 (evening) of my Japan series. After Mt. Fuji we headed to Harajuku for an evening stroll. Itinerary the whole evening:

July 26, 2015. Woke up at 11 am (McDonald's breakfast is until 11 am only lol) and craved for some pancakes!!! :D And yes my loving Husband to the rescue! He immediately searched which restaurants serves the best pancakes here in Singapore. So we went to Prinsep St. and had brunch at Strictly Pancakes.

March 8, 2015. Day 2 of our Japan Diary. Our itinerary for the whole day:

9:00 am: @ Keio Plaza Hotel lobby waiting for our tour bus going to Mt. Fuji (120 min)

Fuji Visitor Center (20 min)

Mt. Fuji 1st station (30 min)

12:00 p.m.: Japanese-style lunch

Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)

Hakone-en
Mt. Komaganetake Ropeway (50 min)

6:00-7:30 p.m. Going back to Tokyo (100 mins)

Tour price:
1. Return by Shinkansen-Hakone sightseeing ans Shinkansen bullet train in 1 day.
with lunch: adult- ¥16,000 / child 6-11 yrs- ¥8,000
w/o lunch: adult- ¥14,000 / child 6-11 yrs- ¥7,000
The tour will end upon arrival at Shin-Yokohama station/Shinagawa station/Tokyo station.

Hundreds of thousands of years ago, Komitake volcano was at the same location where Mt. Fuji now rests. The volcano became bigger gradually through repetitive explosions. Finally, the volcano grew to around 2,400 meters.

Then, around a hundred thousand years ago, the Old Fuji volcano erupted at the South of Komitake volcano.

In addition, the New Fuji volcano erupted in the early Jomon period. The New Fuji volcano absorbed these two volcanoes, and grew to form one large volcano.
**Prior Komitake volcano
Recent research has discovered another volcano named Sen Komitake, so it is thought that three volcanoes exist under Mt. Fuji.

Our English-speaking tour guide, Hirouki Murofushi. He said that the official climbing season at Mt. Fuji is July 1st - August 26th.
Climbing is restricted to this season only because:

~Most of the rest huts and other climber services are available only during this season.
~The temperature at the top is the warmest all year. (about 40 °F/5 °C)
~Public transportation makes access easier: the Fuji Subaru line gate is open 24 hours and shuttle buses run at frequent intervals.

by train:

Shinjuku station--- Chuo Express Bus (1h45min.)---Kawaguchiko Station

By Car:

Shinjuku---Chuo Hisghway(93km, about 1h20min.) Kawaguchiko IC

DIY Foreign Currency Collection

May 23, 2015. Martha Stewart mood. :)) What to do with our leftover cash from travels?!? Hang it!!! So they don't just clutter up your home.

Easy peasy DIY display of your foreign currency collection.

You'll need the ff:

cork board (I bought mine at Daiso)

Map (I used my Tokyo subway map from Japan)

All purpose tacky glue

Scissors

Transparent tape

Foreign currency from your travels

Step 1: Fold the map according to the cork board border size

Step 2: Cut and glue the map

Step 3: Arrange the money

Step 4: Stick the money unto the cork board using the transparent tape

Tadaaa!!! Time to hang it to your wall!! :D
