The trail is beautiful to walk in the fall or spring. Mostly covered by large shade trees, it is pleasant and another beautiful sign of the Great Smoky Mountains. &lt;br /&gt;

This picture was taken between a well used campground and Fargap.&amp;nbsp; The whole area is peaceful and quite and a perfect place to camp.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

At cades cove in the Great Smoky Mountains national part there is an old grist mill.  I spent several hours photographing different parts of it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This shot is on the back side of the flue that sends water to the grist mill.  It sprung a leak back there and the water was leaking up. A massive restoration project has been in place to re-introduce these large creatures.  I am 6&#39;4&quot; and the Elk in this pictures could look me in the eye.  Not that I got close enough to do so, but still&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are two places to view Elk currently.  The first is in Campbell county at Hatfield Knob.  While it is accessable to non 4x4&#39;s, I would advise bringing something with some clearance.  It is a dirt/gravel road.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The other place to view them is in Cataloochee valley.  This road as well is gravel to reach them.  Bwe reminded though, these are not the &quot;tame&quot; deer of cades cove.  Although you should never approach deer either.  Elks during certain times of the year can be extremely aggressive. The church has been there for over 100 years.  Cades Cove was originally a community that housed a few families before the park acquired them.
