a poem for mimi

the other world

Misty streets

match sullen doors

One foot after the other dear

For soon the sun

Will rise again

Making all that’s hidden clear

You move throughout the land of dreams

As the world lies in deep slumber

Tis not the times for pain and screams

Nor the time for crashing thunder

Move as a wraith through out the unbroken dawn

Feel the mist upon your skin

As the sun breaks your mist of dreams

Fear not my love

For the land of dreams will come again

Love died today

It just laid down and passed away

No one noticed it was gone

Humanity just kept moving on

It didn’t even stop and try

To give one last great big goodbye

Passion and lust are all we know

For they took the place where love would grow

Calico eyes

And a sinister smile

A sickening charm that’s designed to beguile

He leaves only broken hearts

murderers goodbye

If you lose me to the dark

Know that you’ll always have my heart

For while our bodies are apart

Our souls are one

If I murder and I steal

Know that what we had was real

And while I’ll never see your face again

They’ll never take my memories

So babe just know that even though

I’ve sold my soul

I still love you

A waxing moon

Is hard to bear

Especially when there’s no one there

To see the passing of the time

And the start of all divine

Why must you love me?

Why can’t you just leave me here to burn?

I wish I were an orphan

So that no one’s life is over turned

For every one that loves me

Is another string that holds me down

A notch in an unwanted paltry and heavy crown

I broke free once

Only to fail at flight

And see the consequences

Of my selfish bid

For freedom’s light

And those strings turned to chains

When I saw

People will hurt if I'm gone

They’ll cry tears

Maybe they’ll move on

But I’ll still be on their mind

The candle blown away

Long before it’s time

And they wouldn’t even see

That for me

Things are better this way

So I’ll wish I were an orphan

And I’ll wish to be alone

And I’ll wish to be the one that no one knew

The girl without a home

Sometimes under my blanket of chains

I dream of my almost flight

And I wonder

What would have happened?

Had my mother not wanted

To make things right

Would I have found peace?

Or the opposite of paradise?
