Visão única a se admirar... bela... como bela é a natureza em toda sua sabedoria. Mas o coração do pescador só sabe ver os olhos... os olhos dos que sabem ver. E animado nas suas palmas solitárias, nem notou o cidadão que intrigado, o olhava. Até que falou: Boa tarde, você é pescador? Justino estufou o peito... e cheio de orgulho respondeu: sou sim senhor. E o cidadão... é baiano? Justino... com sorriso de perolas, confirmou... Baiano. O cidadão prosseguiu na sua lista de perguntas. Então gostas de dormir na rede, descansar. Baiano! Diga-me pescador... afinal como se escreve: baiano? Em seus quase setenta anos... Justino conhecia gente e gente. A pergunta foi o bastante para o velho do mar, saber, onde o moço queria chegar. E no jeito calmo... de voz doce dengosa... o pescador foi quase recitando a resposta. O senhor andou pela cidade... viu quantas ladeiras tem e isso não cansa a fé. Só as “batatas” das pernas ficam “doídas”... aí a rede é boa, descansa a cabeça que fica no alto e as penas também. No outro dia a gente fica “novo em folha”. Experimente e vai saber como é bom. O senhor me perguntou como se escreve baiano? O cidadão interrompeu Justino.. e já com ares de superioridade... falou: Mesmo com os diplomas que tenho, não sei se baiano se escreve com “i” ou com “h”? E no meio da barba banca se pode ver o sorriso do velho, com ar de nuvem... Como se escreve baiano?
