So what if, sometimes, you feel a little uneasy about the way things are going? So what if, on occasion, you get a little depressed? That&#39;s just the price of living, right? A whole year of changes, disappointments and discoveries that make what I faced a year ago look like chickenfeed. And yet, I&#39;m still here and still fighting to find out what&#39;s around the next bend in the road.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&#39;m not sure where that road is taking me, and there are days that I&#39;m not sure I want to travel it, but they are fewer and fewer. I &lt;em&gt;do&lt;/em&gt; know that to make this trip, I have to drive, because just going along for the ride has cost me way too much in cab fare.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&#39;ve looked back at where I&#39;ve been and, while I wouldn&#39;t trade a day of it, not even the worst ones, I know I can never go there again. The only way to move is ...forward. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#ffcc99;&quot;&gt;For all that I have lost and all the coulda been&#39;s that never can be and all the woulda been&#39;s that never will be, I have found one thing that always &lt;em&gt;is&lt;/em&gt;...&lt;br /&gt;Myself. Good, bad or indifferent, that&#39;s all I&#39;ve got. Maybe, someday, someone will think that is just enough for them. Right now, it is just enough for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some of the most important discoveries I have made this year...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that I am tougher than I ever thought I&#39;d have to be. And more fragile than I ever dreamed I could be.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that my dreams can become nightmares. And that nightmares go away when you wake up.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that being selfish is a big fault in my character. And that being selfless is a bigger one.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that the easiest thing to do is not always the best. And that the hardest thing is telling the difference.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that I talk too much. And that I don&#39;t say enough.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that telling the truth will hurt. And that not telling it will hurt worse.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that I can&#39;t change people. And that trying only changes me.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that some folks will never understand me. And that I will never understand them.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that people don&#39;t have to love me. And that I will still love them.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that being good and being a good person aren&#39;t the same things. And that some folks can&#39;t tell the difference.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#ffcc99;&quot;&gt;I have discovered that I cannot give what I haven&#39;t received. And that I cannot receive what I do not ask for.&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that I am not perfect. And that I don&#39;t have to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But the biggest discovery is this...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have discovered that I&#39;ll never quit trying.
