After missing the playoffs last spring with their worst record since signing Steve Nash before the 2004-05 season, the Phoenix Suns have one of the league's best records two weeks into 2009-10.
The Suns, though, refuse to say they've returned to the NBA's elite just yet.

Trying not to make too much of their early success, the Suns look to cap a strong five-game trip with another win Monday night when they meet the Philadelphia 76ers.

They are going to be forced to change their kickoff formation to "defend" that part of the field.

I think we should name his pooch kick something like "The Bird Dropping"!

From a couple people I have known inside the program they really pulled out all the stops when he was here.. ASU has a couple things going for them that the Big Boys don't want to admit as well

For one, ASU was the only school to have an unofficial visit, and they are also the first school he decided to see. According to him, ASU was his childhood team, even though he lived in Texas, he never followed or liked the Texas' and Oklahoma's of the world, his heart was always with ASU and the PAC-10..

It also doesn't hurt that his dad stared for the Devils as well..

One thing that also came out in the visit was TAZ.. He talked about how having a player of his caliber behind him was huge and how dominant the Defense looked against USC, but he would "put them over the top"...

All in all, the country looks as ASU as an afterthought, because the other schools on his lsit are the best of the best, and before the visit I may have agreed, but now, I am starting to get the feeling that ASU culd land the #1 overall prospect this coming year, and they will have TAZ and this defense to thank for it!

Wasn't yesterday's game remarkably similar to last year's playoff win at Carolina? Boldin was inactive. The offense clicks on all cylinders. Fitz runs wild, scores two TDs, one reaching inside the right pylon. After giving up an easy first drive TD, the defense tightens up and plays well.

2. Boldin returned the next week for the NFC Championship Game, but as we all saw, threw a tantrum on the sidelines when he was being platooned. If Boldin is platooned again this week (albeit it's not an NFC Championship Game, but certainly a very important game in terms of getting things straightened out at home and gaining a firmer grasp on the lead in the NFC West) who will Boldin yell at this time? Ken Whisenhunt? The coach who wasn't "man enough" to tell Boldin he'd been deactivated?

3. Whiz is such a cool customer and continues to have his wits about him especially in the face of adversity. He had Warner's back last week, and this week he has Boldin's (although it would be difficult to imagine that Boldin appreciates that). Plus, it was great to learn that Whiz went out of his way to text message and console Matt Leinart...and that Leinart was seen this afternoon on a day off at the practice field throwing passes to a teammate. That's great stuff, my friends. Great stuff, all of it.

4. Seattle is going to be coming into U of P on a mission...this game really is their season...if they win, they are still in the thick of the NFC West picture. if they lose, at 3-6, and with two losses to the Cardinals, they'd be out of it. The Cardinals have to make the proper adjustments this time, even though they played well at Seattle. They have to...that's right...have to chip DE Patrick Kerney. And they have to generate a consistent pass rush on Matt Hasselbeck. Those are the two keys.
