Travel Attire

I'd like to think by now I have mastered traveling... but like all of us I'm really hit or miss. Sometimes I'll look decently put together while other times I look like I just walked in off the streets after a long night/early morning of partying. Either way, I know I'm always comfortable! I usually like to go with shorts (for warmer weather) or leggings (for colder weather). That way I know my legs will be free to move around the cabin.

This look was one I wore when I came home from Napa last week. Although it wasn't exactly fur jacket weather, it was pretty chilly on the flight and yours truly was riding middle on the way back. So the coat was for when I was sleeping to either act as a pillow or a blanket. See how I made that versatile? (Jacket from ASOS)

I paired it with a Free People top and my favorite leggings. I actually bought these last year around Thanksgiving and was glad I did! I get compliments all the time when I wear them AND they are now in style. Go figure... Who knew that leather leggings would be all the rage this fall? I'd like to take some credit for being ahead of the curve...

I finished the look with my favorite new loafers! These bad boys are legit! Plus I thought ahead to security lines and the taking off of the shoes involved. Just popped these on and off. It doesn't hurt that they're super comfortable and BLUE. My very favorite :) But enough with all the talking.. here's my outfit:

For the days it's actually cold out, I like to layer up! Part of my fall go-to outfit is always my Ralph Lauren oxford. This time, to change it up, I thought I'd throw a peplum shirt over it and actually fell in love with how it looked. I also added my groopdealz lookalike J. Crew necklace and it went perfectly. And of course for colder weather, you gotta break out the booties! I have a feeling this whole outfit will be similarly repeated all fall/winter long.

BlueTique Blue

Although I have moved to New York, I still love to shop at BlueTique in Lexington. I will of course always have a place in my heart for those lovely ladies! I miss working there so much. Thankfully they have an online store now so I can shop from afar. I recently got this dress and I'm obsessed with it! I want to wear it all the time really... but that would be weird. I love the material and how this can be dressed up or down depending on accessories. That and it's BLUE. I love blue. Call me a Kentucky girl, but I will never stop buying blue dresses. I wore this little number wine tasting in Napa last weekend. Check it out and let me know what you think:

The Ghost of Halloween Past

I know Halloween is right around the corner and this is the time to start thinking about what you're going to be for the night. (Or at least I am)... I seriously have no idea what I'm going to be this year, or if I'm even going out (the last game of the World Series is on Halloween). But I thought I would share my costume from last year. It was a big hit and really easy to make! Something that not a ton of people think of. So I hope this helps come up with ideas!

Supplies:

Cardboard box

Red & White Paint

Two yard sticks

Red ribbon

Tape

and Yourself!

I just cut out the top and bottom of a cardboard box and used a flap as the "top" of the kissing booth. Then used a lot of tape to connect the yard sticks to the top and bottom. Cut out two little holes on the front and back and thread ribbon through it to make suspenders for yourself to wear. Then decorate accordingly and charge a good price!

What to Wear to Keeneland in the Fall

It hurts my heart writing this post knowing that I wont be at Keeneland for this fall meet! But for the help of others, I will still write my yearly "What to Wear to Keeneland" post. I know it's the fall, and in the past we've usually talked about only long sleeve dresses and quilted coats with riding boots, but as everyone knows the weather has been so all over the place. I took that into consideration and also have added some warmer weather looks to this post. I also added a little commentary under each dress as for what to pair everything with. The Proper way to Crop

I'm all about some crop tops, as long as they're paired correctly. I fell in love with this bow crop when I saw it so I had to get it right away but for the longest time I was looking for something to wear it with. I'm not one for showing off too much skin so the idea of bringing the skirt to the crop came to mind. I really love the idea of a crop top and high wasted skirt (or short or pant.. etc). So I paired it with my favorite J. Crew skirt (which is back!!! And on sale-- Link below). Check it out:

Who says you can't mix stripes and plaid? Mixing prints is a very fun thing to do, so try it for yourself! I added this red necklace to make the red in the plaid pop. Who knew it would work out so well...

Navy and white is one of my favorite combos out there, but when it involves white pants, it becomes 10x better. I really have a special place in my heart for my white pants, after labor day or not. For all you baseball fans out there, you know today is game 163. For those who are unfamiliar, let me break it down: In a regular season there are 162 games played. After that comes playoffs... unless there is a tie for a Wild Card spot. Which you know from the post title, we have! It's honestly a really exciting time for baseball, but it means I'm 10x busier! So here's to today's 163 game to decide who (Rangers or Rays) will get the last Wild Card Spot and face the Indians.

I'm not going to lie, I love this dress. I wear it all the time to work because it's so easy and flowy in the right places. So when I'm having those ehh days, I just slip this bad boy on and head out. Did I mention it's from a resale shop? I love the shops here in the city. I always have the best luck finding things there. One of my favorite spots is Buffalo Exchange. Hit it up if you're in town.

As I'm enjoying my last few days of summer, I break out my favorite scalloped shorts, a perfect white tee and head out!
