The Problem with other To-Do App:

For the past one week I have been continuously searching for best to-do app which servers my taste. When I tried any new app, I found one or more reason to not-to stay with that app. Here are the few reasons which I usually encountered.

• Availability on other Platform: I personally looking for the to-do webapp which is available on almost all platform. Mainly I have been looking for-Windows To-do Software, Webapp and for my iPhone device. When I found any to-do app, I mainly noticed the lack of windows to-do software with their application.
• Offline To-do App: Some app requires free users need to have internet connection to access to-do list. This is the most annoying thing which I found on some popular to-do app. I was looking for some sort of desktop to-do software which don’t need any internet connection to work.
• Font Size: When it comes to to-do app, we are using this application for time management. When I tried any new application this is one of the most annoying thing which I frequently noticed.  The font used on their application is too small which is not good to enter or read the to-do list. I will be straining my eyes if I start using those app. Which reduces my productivity instead of increasing it.
• User Interface: I was looking for very clean and simple interface. I don’t want my to-do app filled with lot of options which usually disturb my focus.
• Server Down: With one app, I even encountered the server down problem I don’t want my to-do app server should go down.
• It’s Should be Free: The app should be available free on all other platform.

After keeping all those point I was still looking for an to-do app. Later I found that wunderlist has launched it’s next version, that is wunderlist 2. I’m not new to wunderlist. I have tried it before. But now my hostel firewall has blocked that website so I cannot be able to access that site webapp. When I see new version, I found desktop version of to-do software is also launched and it won’t need any internet connection to work. When I tried that desktop to-do software, it was what I was actually looking for!

These are the most popular file hosting which offer awesome service to users. There are many more free file hosting service you could find online. But most of them not worth to try. Most of the similar service went down because of huge traffic spike in short period of time. The developers cannot be able to handle that much of traffic all at once.

This announcement made business for other similar products like, feedly which is considered as one of the most popular alternative for Google Reader. But this situation may not continue for longer days. Because, Digg one of the biggest Internet company announced one their official blog that they are building a Reader.

I’m sure they will build a better alternative to Google Reader compared to other alternative which are already available in the market now.

In previous post I written an article on How To Easily Get Rid of Shortcut Arrows on Icons-Manual Method. Well that method also works fine with all windows operating system including windows vista, 7 and 8 32 bit and 64bit version. But if you followed that method to remove shortcut arrow, then you no longer be able to use “Pin to Taskbar” option. Moreover it somewhat tedious process to follow the guide.

Instead of following that post, here is a new software which will allow you to remove shortcut arrow from icons more easily and without affecting the “Pin to Taskbar” option.

Tor Browser:

First thing you should know about Tor Browser is, Tor is free and open source for Windows, Mac, Linux/Unix, and Android. This browser is designed to protect your privacy.

By default Tor browser doesn’t  allow you to enable any plugins, this is because Plugins operate independently from Firefox and can perform activity on your computer that ruins your anonymity.  So they disable all plugin by default and never recommend to install any plugin in your tor browser.

But if you don’t care about anonymity and just want to unblock blocked site, then go ahead and install any plugins you want. But installing and enabling flash player in tor browser is little tricky. I will show you how to do that.

Installing Flash/Shokwave Player in Tor Browser:

1. Download and install Tor Browser Bundle

Tip: Tor site blocked? then you can download Tor via email: log in to your Gmail account and mail ‘gettor@gettor.torproject.org‘. If you include the word ‘help’ in the body of the email, it will reply with instructions.

2. Visit any Video streaming site like youtube.com you will see missing plugin alert. Install Flash player by clicking that alert.

3.  Now locate where Flash player was installed in your computer. By default it will be installed in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

open that directory.

4. Next open the tor browser folder. In my case I have installed in C:\Tor Browser.  Navigate to C:\Tor Browser\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins

5. Copy all the flash files which you have seen in step 2 and paste it in the location “C:\Tor Browser\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins” folder

6. Now launch your tor browser and click on Tor icon which is located behind the address bar. In the drop down menu select the Preferences option

7. Now in the Pop up menu select the Security Settings tab and uncheck Disable browser plugins (such as Flash) option and click ok

8.  Now we have to enable Flash player plugin in tor browser. To do that, click on the TorBrowser drop down menu at top left corner and select Add-ons options (or) press Ctrl+Shift+A

9. Next in that plugin list you will see Shockwave Flash Now click Enable button and Restart Tor Browser.

That’s it. Now you have successfully installed Flash Player plugin on our tor browser to play video. Now open any flash based sites like youtube and start watching videos.

But it doesn’t play video directly. Every time you open video you will see a message saying “click here to activate the adobe flash plugin” click on that message to start playing video.

Anyway, we are not much familiar with the other service. But, Google Reader is one service which I and few other users use it on their daily basis.

In their official Google Reader blog they have announced about this news. Here the reason they have given for it.

There are two simple reasons for this: usage of Google Reader has declined, and as a company we’re pouring all of our energy into fewer products. We think that kind of focus will make for a better user experience.

How to Backup your Data from Google Reader:

Now it’s time to backup all our data from Google Reader. If you don’t know how to take backup of your data from google reader, then here is a step by step tutorial.

1. Visit Google Takeout

2.  Wait for few seconds until it display 100%, and then click create Archive

3.  Now you will taken to the download tab. Here also we have to wait for few seconds once you get “Complete” status now you can backup/download the Google Reader data.

That’s it. Now you’ll have backup of your Google Reader account on your local computer.

Not all the pdf files comes in proper reading format. Sometimes we have to deal with improper orientation. For time being we may simply rotate and read that file. But what if, if we have to deal that file in regular basis? do you think we have to rotate that file daily whenever we open that file? No, we don’t need to do that.

This improper orientation (upside down etc.,)  usually occurs when there is a image or some sort of big table which is present in that pdf file.

Removing Toolbars can easily done with control panel or with their respective browser option. But many of them are not familiar with this. If you are one of them, then here is a nice small software called “Toolbar Cleaner” which helps in removing all types of toolbar from your computer easily.

Toolbar cleaner software comes free of charge. But when you install this software on your PC, it will change default home page of your browser to something else ( MyStart website).  To stop changing home page, just uncheck “Set MyStart as homepage” when you’re going to install this software. I also recommend to uncheck first option as well.

To start using Toolbar cleaner software, just launch the software. You will see the interface as shown in below image.
