Hello!! Today I will be doing one of Yumeko's Weekly Photo Challenge: The Vacation Edition!

This is a great time for me to summarise my grad trip to Taiwan, Taipei recently ^^

1. Somewhere you visited on your last vacation

This was our first time to Taipei, thus we decided to do touristy things and visit some tourist attraction in Taipei. This is at the entrance of Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall ( 国立中正纪念堂 ), a nice museum to visit especially when you tag along a guide provided by the museum explaining about the history of Chiang Kai Shek.

2. Something you bought on your last vacation

aka insert a haul picture here XD. You can see I bought mostly clothings. When I visited Watsons and Cosmed, it was after I bought all the clothes and feeling the pain in my wallet lolll. So I decided to stock up on my necessities and things that caught my eye. Though I really wanted to get other items on my list, I could not find them in the stores I visited.

3. Something you ate on your last vacation

These yummy food are from Danshui (淡水). Personally I find that the Black Pepper Bun from Danshui is so much better than the famous one at Raohe Night Market (饶河街观光夜市) opposite Wufenpu (五分埔).

4. A ticket/bill/receipt from your last vacation

There is a funny story behind this ticket. As we bought this ticket from the Taoyuan HSR ticketing booth, and the guy gave me the 12.40pm timing when it was 12.38pm. I didn't realise this until we slot in the ticket at the entry gate and the personnel there said to hurry as the train is coming in 2 minutes time. In the mad rush we went to the nearest lift and went down to the platform. But we found out that it was the Southbound platform (Taipei is Northbound). In short we had to change the tickets as we missed the train =.=" .

Hence remember that Taipei is Northbound and don't go to the wrong platform as you will waste alot of time as the lift is very slow. I use the escalator sometimes as there are alot of people using the lift but there are signs asking you to use the lift when carrying luggage.

5. The number one place where YOU live, that you think people should visit

Hmm.. other than the usual tourist attractions here, I believe that the Singapore Botanic Gardens is a nice way to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and take a breather. Besides there is a nice shopping mall beside it and you can visit it after touring or walk further down to Orchard Road too lol.

Some of the features taken in the Botanic Gardens, when I visited with friends during our holidays as going to town gets boring sometimes..though going to the land of mosquitoes sounds boring too =P but its pretty fun when you have great company XD.

Ehh I have much to elaborate on Taipei, maybe I will do another post on it. If you have any questions feel free to ask me! ^^

Pictures says a Week's worth

Hello Everyone!!

Wanted this to be a start of the week post but it didn't post oops..

Last weekend we went to the Harry Potter Exhibition at the ArtScience Museum at the Marina Bay Sands.

No pictures was allowed in the exhibition though T_T. But here is a sneak peek of what is inside.

For Singaporeans, it will be better to purchase the tickets at the MBS box office(dont be silly like me and book online) as it will be at a special price of $20 for adults and $18 for senior citizens and $13 for children below the age of 12.

Thoughts: Overall a nice experience for Harry Potter fans to have a look at the props. (But kinda of not worth the price hehe)

Love the lotus flowers that are outside the museum.

Lunch at Paradise Dynasty at Ion Orchard.

We both got the Handmade La Mian. Its really good, the noodle is soft and chewy and the soup base is flavourful not salty and does not leave a "i need to drink more water" aftertaste. =P

The famous Signature Dynasty Dumplings. The xiao long baos have different flavours such as original, ginseng, foie gras, black truffle, crab roe, cheese, garlic and szechuan. It was soso, the ginseng was very bitter and I think that the flavours are added to the skin of the xiao long baos and maybe a tinyyyy bit onto the meat. The original xiao long bao is still the best though XD.

The dessert!!! It was really good. I kinda forgot the name lol. But it was made of egg soufflé with banana and red bean inside. A must try.

Looks a little disgusting but left a small bite before I remember to take a picture of it =P.

Can't wait to try out these two items I got recently.

Mu tenka Cow Brand Facial Wash

Thoughts: It cleanses effectively while not drying on the skin. A gentle cleanser, definitely a must buy and is one of the few items that I was sad to say goodbye to.

Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path Intense Body Butter
Thoughts: Really like the scent of it. It has a clean soothing scent like baby powder although a tad heavy. I like to apply it at night and in the morning I still can detect a light scent of it <3. It absorbed easily into the skin and does not leave a sticky feeling. Love it.

Beauty Edition Photo Meme

Hello!! (dust the cobwebs off the blog)

Been reading Yumeko's photo meme and wants to join in the fun XD.

Plus its a pretty good way to compile all the things I have been using these few weeks and what I like about them (Not all are makeup thus the beauty edition title) ^^

1. Lip Product:

Smith's Rosebud Salve: One of my favourite lip balm and it works great on chap lips or acting as moisturiser for hands. By looking at the battered tin you can guess how long I have been using it, but no matter how frequent I dip into it there is still quite a number of usage left in it.

Sleek Pout Polish ( in powder pink): This was given to me by the sweet Jian. I love the consistency of it as it is like a tinted lip balm which I prefer for daily use then lipstick or lip gloss.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter ( in pink truffle): I am probably one of the last few to jump on the bandwagon of the lip butter craze and I must say it is one of my favourite to go lip product as it is very pigmented and moisturising. (Thank you so much May!! <333)

2. Foundation:

Bourjois Foundation Bio Detox Organic: I got this to try after finishing up my Bourjois Healthy Mix hoping to get great result as the healthy mix, but was slightly disappointed with it. It is pretty hard to blend and this might be due to not having silicon in the ingredient Will do a follow up review on it ^^.

Coffret D'or Silky Lasting Gel Foundation UV: On days when I don't have the time to slowly blend in the Bourjois foundation I would reach for this and it gives a smooth finish with good coverage.

3. Face Powder:

Guerlain Meteorites in Beige Chic: This is a fairy dust for me as I will always apply it as a finishing powder without it I would feel something is missing hehe. Plus the packaging is lovely and it is very hard not to collect different meteorites from each collection. ^^

Chacott Finishing Powder: My favourite loose powder for all time. It has very good oil control (coming from an oily skin me), pretty good coverage and makes my face looks matte.

4. Skincare:

St Ives Green Tea Scrub: Love this (thanks D! xoxo), I use this scrub a couple of time per week (review will be coming up!)

Shiseido Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam: It cleanse and foam very well without making the skin feels dry. Just a tiny pea size goes a long way.

5. Hair Product:

Lux Super Damage Repair Hair Repair Essence: I got this from taiwan when I was searching for a hair serum to tame the frizzyness. This caught my eye as I have seen a couple of reviews on the internet and it is not available in singapore (you always want to have something you are unable to get locally). I have been using it for a few weeks now and I am really loving it and dreading the day when it finishes. T_T

Oops sorry, I couldn't stop rambling and the photo meme becomes sort of like a short review of each product. But hope you will like it and find it helpful to you.

crochet hat tutorial + link to shell crochet scarf

Hello everyone, it finally hit me that 2012 is coming soon when I realised that i need to get a new calender T_T
Time flies so fast, and I hope that 2011 has treated you well if not 2012 will be better!

This is the link where I got the pattern of my crochet shell scarf from and below is a youtube tutorial for right handers <3

Crochet Hat Tutorial:

folded hat with pom-pom

without pom-pom (does not look as nice with a pom pom eh)

Things needed:

2 ~ 4 balls of 8 ply wool

4 mm crochet hook (I'm used to using a 4mm hook, however you can choose to use a 5 / 6.5 mm crochet hook if the yarn you use is thicker)

I combined two colours of wool together as I was trying to finish up my pink wool. Hence you could just mix any colour variations of yarn you want or use 2 strands of same colour wool to start to crochet.

Optional: You can first wind the two yarns together into a ball for easy handling.

Foundation ring: Chain 7 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring (chain it tighter so that there will not be a large hole at the top of your hat)

Round 1: Chain 3 (count as 1 double crochet) and then do 21 double crochet (dc) into the ring. Join with slip stitch into the 3rd of chain 3. (I am using US terminology, hence double crochet would mean treble for the British, click here for more conversion)

Round 2: Chain 3 (count as 1 dc), then continue with 2 dc into each stitch of previous round. Join with slip stitch to the 3rd of the chain 3.

Round 3: Chain 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into the same place, *[ 1 dc into the next stitch, 2 dc into the next stitch], repeat from * to the last stitch, 1 dc into the last stitch, join with slip stitch into the 3rd of chain 3.

Round 4: Chain 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into same place, *[ 1 dc into each of next 2 stitches, 2 dc into next stitch], repeat from * to last 2 stitches, 1 dc into each of last 2 stitch, join with slip stitch into 3rd of chain 3.

Round 5 and more: *Chain 3 (count as 1 dc), and continue with 1 dc into the top of each double crochet of the previous round. Join with slip stitch to top of the first chain 3. Repeat * to increase the rounds.

The total number of rounds I made for this hat is 20. However you can increase the rounds if you would like a longer hat.

When you have enough rounds for the hat, single crochet through the stitches to finish it off. Attach a pom pom at the top if you like or add any embellishment to the hat <3

I used a pom pom maker to make the pom pom. If you do not have a pom pom maker hope this youtube tutorial would be useful to you.

This is a simple hat tutorial, not as fancy as what the shops are selling but hope that you would like it.

It's my first time doing a tutorial, hope that the instructions are clear and if there is any question, feel free to ask me =D.

Another year is coming! I don't think I ever completed any resolutions at all so I would only have a simple request which is to:

-Try not to buy any more beauty products that I do not need as there is only as much paint I can paint on my face and some might expire before I even get to them. However, I may succumb to some beauty marketing strategy or "limited edition" these two words and hence would only TRY to buy what I really need than want. XD
- Oh and to be more patient.

Opening of my Secret Santa gift!!

Yesterday was the day for those who participate in the Gift Exchange organised by Sheila of Maddy Loves <333

We were suppose to open them together using Google chat but I was unable to make it as I'm stuck in the lab. Nevertheless after reading the tweets on what is going on the video chat that Jian so kindly tweeted to me, I couldn't resist anymore and left the lab to get my bag (as I brought the gift to school XD)

Finally I am able to open my secret santa gift!

hehe I love blending sponges as I feel that they are easy to hold and always like to dab it on my face XD.

Annnndddd....This is from the fabulous Shinyprettythings <3.. tsk tsk as I told her that she do not have to give me anything for my birthday as I have not finish trying out what she gave me in the previous swap. This sneaky girl still managed to surprise me.

Heehee love all the notes she wrote and the Hello Kitty utensils will always tag along with me when I bring my box lunch out. Ok I lied..once i finished taking photos of her thoughtful gifts, I began to happily eat the chocolates and sweets. The HK key cap is already attached to my gate key XD...And I tried the elf brush once and it was fantastic! I use it to stipple my foundation and it blends into my face evenly with no foundation left on the brush. Definitely a must-get brush! Thank you so much D xoxoxoxo.

Lady Luck must be hanging around as I received an email from Sarah of Glitterish Allsorts that I won her giveaway too. October is a great month! \^0^/

Post exams break, I went on a crocheting spree and managed to crochet a scarf and a hat! (sorry for the repeats if you have seen these on twitter XD)

I found this shell pattern online and did an amateur version of it. But I'm pretty happy of how it turns up!

Following my friend's advice on lengthening the hat, I added rows for the hat that I have done for her and did another hat with pom poms!..It can be folded or unfolded depending on how you want to wear it. Will you guys like to get a short tutorial for them? Do let me know ^^.

Long post ahead~ ^^

On Monday when I opened the letterbox and saw the wonderful package from Shiny Pretty Things. It sure perked me up from the monday blues!

Armed with a camera, I opened the package XD, as I usually would just tear open the envelop and start to swatch all the stuffs! *shows huge restrain* Am not a diligent blogger. =P

In their full unopened glory..

ShinyPrettyThings thoughtfully wrapped every single items up! While I just threw in everything into the box for her >.<. As we only requested some items we wanted and decided to let each other buy what we think one another would like to have and she got it all right. <333( a long and confusing sentence eh? I spend the most time trying to figure out how to say "each other" in other words but gave up in the end)

A beautyblender-like sponge and EOS lip balm. I always wanted to try beauty blender but find it a little too uneconomical for a sponge especially having to wash it after every use and ShinyPrettyThings recommended me to try this. Have started using it today and it gives a nice finish! Loves lip balm and EOS is also what i have been wanting to try~ (pardon my "is also what I want/I always wanted these" sentences but they are really true!)

She got me Physician Formula Happy Booster in Natural*super happy* Physician Formula is not available in Singapore but after reading so many blogs about this, I have been wanting to get it and in this shade too.

Sephora lip gloss, NYX and Wet n Wild lipstick. cannot wait to try them! <3333

Revlon Nail Enamel in Minted. Love Revlon nail polishes for their consistency.

Wet n Wild palettes and NXY eyeliner!!! I always wanted to try wet n wild eyeshadow palettes and was thinking of joining a spree to get them and Comfort Zone was what i planned to get. Unfortunately some of the shadows cracked during the journey (Mr Postman why can't you be more gentle!) but it cleaned up pretty well. XD

Maybelline FIT Me foundation AND Maybelline FIT Me pressed powder!

This is what i wanted to get too, but as this series not available in Singapore i was planning to either wait for it to reach our shores or get it online. And the shade matches my skintone. Thanks for taking the time to search for the perfect shade for me =3

St Ives Green Tea Scrub!! Started using this too and am loving it. (although St Ives is available here but they did not bring this line here, whyyy? T_T)

My Most Reached Foundation

This is what I will always reach for my daily face routine. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation.

Description taken from Bourjois:

Its exquisite glide-on formula blends onto the skin for a flawless, yet natural finish.

I use shade 53 Beige Clair which is suited for my NC30ish shade.

Under sunlight.

On the back of my hand.

Lightly blended onto the skin.

Verdict:

- It has medium coverage. Helps to even out my complexion, with some light use of my concealer to hide my acne scars.

- Feels very light, which allows my skin to breathe easily!
- Blends easily to the skin.

- It has a light fragrance which is not very noticeable (until you tested it on your skin as I did when i took the photos for it.)

- It uses a pump so you can easily adjust the amount you want to use.

- Plus it has all the goodies in the foundation with: Apricot for radiance

Melon for hydration

Apple for antioxidant

and Ginger for energy!

- And it does not breaks me out!!

Hence it is definitely a must buy again for me and the price is very affordable!

My Favourite Body Scrub

Hello!!!

This Aqua Rine Japanese Aroma Bath Sea Salt was given to me by a friend of mine as a gift and i love it!..

Not sure if you can see the tiny salt particles but you can definitely feel it! (sorry for the lousy shot) XD

It has tiny particles of sea salt in a emulsion which will exfoliate the skin. After using it, my skin smells divine and my skin baby smooth! ^_^

I have been using Aqua Rine Japanese Aroma Bath Sea Salt in Peach for more than 6 months and its still about 1/4 left which is great as i use it weekly with a generous amount per bath too! Love the peach scent and you can still smell the peachy scent on your skin even after you leave the bathroom up will a few hours.

Above is the back of the packaging (click on the photo for a larger view). I read an article that says that most of the time, the first ingredient they state in the packaging is usually the majority of what the product consist of so I guess that this scrub is full of sea salt goodness eh! =D

My only grouse with it is that it is a screw on cap which is difficult to handle as, on hand you are holding full of product and another you have to screw in the cap. I would rather it be a flip cap? not sure how to describe it >.< but its just a tiny detail which is alright!

This is my favourite body scrub and I would definitely be purchasing it again! Plus it comes in six different kinds of fragrance: Peach Bath Sea Salt, Chili Bath Sea Salt, Milk Bath Sea Salt, Rose Bath Sea Salt, Sakura Bath Sea Salt, Green Tea Bath Sea Salt.

Will be trying out the Green Tea one next!

Review of Hada Labo Hydrating Mask and its alternative

Happy Monday everyone!*chases the monday blues away*
During exam period, I have been masking every alternate day so as to keep my face moisturise and calm my skin as I find that if I do not have enough sleep or if I'm stress, my skin would have breakouts T_T. Plus each masking time took only about 20-30 minutes and I will take the opportunity to have a short break to rest.

I have been using my collection of masks and one of them is the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Mask.

Cost: $21.90 for a box of 4 pieces at Watsons

Verdict: It has a little chemical smell and i feel that after using it, it does not makes much different to my face. The hydrating properties are alright but not as much as a wow factor considering the price of it.

BUT!! i have another alternative from Hada Labo too!! ^_^

Things you need: a small bowl/cup, Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating lotion and tablet mask (Daiso sells them).

Firt put the tablet into the dry cup and add in the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating lotion.

When the tablet absorbs enough lotion, unfold it and use it as a mask on your face. After using it, I felt that the lotion works better than the actual mask making my skin feels supple and well hydrated.

I would definitely be using this method always when i want to hydrate my skin and of course you can just apply the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating lotion directly onto your face using the patting motion but I find that it works better with a mask.

Hope you guys will like this method and do tell if you have different methods or other masks to recommend!

I seems to be starting every post with 'long time no see! i'm sorry for not blogging for so long been busy with work" -.- should put a sidebar saying that my blog is filled with sporadic blogposts and hope everyone will like them.^_^

I'm having my term break now so i have more time in my hands for blogging! I shall start off with what i have used up during these past few months! A few of them are travel size products as I am trying to clear up my stash of samples.

St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub: I started using this highly raved scrub as my weekly facial scrub until recently, I read it somewhere that the ingredients they used is too harsh on my face (i have oily and acne prone skin). Thus not wanting to waste it, I switch it to be used as a body and lip scrub and it feels great! It scrubbed away all the dead skin cells and make my skin feels super smooth. Since I still have one more tube of it, I will still continue to use it as my body scrub. But I do not think I will continue to buy it as I have a body scrub that I was recently given by a friend and I love it! (review will be coming up soon). Instead I am looking forward to switch to another St Ives facial scrub highly raved by Kay of cosmeddicted!

Skin Food Hop Beer Hair Wash: This is given to me as a sample pack along with the Aloe Vera foaming cleanser as a gift with purchase. The scent is a little herbal and it does wash away all the dirt effectively. But it should always be followed up with a conditioner as it dries the hair up.

Skin Food Aloe Vera Foaming Cleanser: This cleanser cleanse effectively and does not irritate my skin. Will definitely purchase it again!

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser: I remember when I used to visit the dermatologist, one of the cleanser he recommended me is this. However it does not cleanse my face effectively and it still feels oily after washing my face. Would not purchase this again as there are other more effectively and cheaper alternative than this.

Shokubutsu Whitening Facial Foam: Shokubutsu is famous for their body foam line so I was curious about their facial foam when I got it as a sample given out by their promoters. This facial foam makes my face feels squeaky clean, but I have not experience any whitening after using this sample tube.

St Ives Green Tea Cleanser: This is definitely one of my favourite cleanser. It helps to remove the oil and dirt from my face effectively and the scent is fruity and refreshing!(sorry I'm bad at describing scents) However it is not available here *sad face* but you can get it at drugstore.com or other US websites.

Kose Cosmeport Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil: It helps to remove my makeup effectively and is easily washed off by water. It works great especially on stubborn mascaras! Even though after using it for my eye area, my eyes will feel that there is a layer of film and things will look blurry unless I repeatedly wash my eyes with water. Err maybe it should not be used for eye makeup removal? I'm not sure if it is available in Singapore if it is tell me where please!! XD I got it from sasa.com

Shiseido Tsubaki Damage Care Hair Conditioner: This is my first time trying out the line of Tsubaki hair range but I grabbed both the damage care and the Shining range when i passed by Swanson in Chinatown. It is much cheaper to buy from there compared to watsons if you are alright with lugging it back home. Will definitely purchase it again AFTER I used finish my four huge bottles (2 shampoo and 2 conditioner) of Tresemme which I bought during the Guardian discount.

In fact I have started to use the conditioner and it makes my hair feels super soft and smooth!

Skin Food Broccoli Sun Cream SPF 42 Pa++ : Although it high in SPF but I do not like using this sunscreen as it is too oily and does not absorb into the skin easily.

Skin Food Agave Cactus Prime Gel: It is a nice primer to try and is it cooling to the skin. However I think there are better primers in the market and there are better primers from Skin Food too.

Kanebo Kate Lasting High Coverage Powder Foundation

Hihi!!

this is just a short post as i'm super excited that I found the Limited Edition Kanebo Kate Lasting High Coverage Powder Foundation at Watsons, as I came across this when I'm reading their advertisement magazine(?) and I admit the word Limited Edition caught my eye, plus its on sale! haha..but as I has been eyeing the powder foundation for quite some time as I would like to try out other powder foundations after getting the M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and the Integrate Mineral Powder. Was quite disappointed when I could not find it at my regular watsons store (which is always well stocked) as they are only sold in selected stores (hate this word),

The Limited Edition comes in only two shades. OC-C and OC-D. I chose OC-D (I'm around NC30-35)

Packaging:

- I admit, the casing was not a pretty as I thought it would especially with the "limited edition" tag =.= but its alright since there's some complains of their original casing which is a fingerprint magnet.

Price:

- For SGD$34 (was actually SGD48.5) its quite worth it! as normally powder foundation set is sold separately. The casing itself cost SGD$14.50..and the foundation is SGD$34.

If you do are not shade OC-C or D, Watsons is having 20% off Kate products now too! ^^

Verdict:

- the powder is super fine!!! it blends easily onto my face, even better than the Integrate and the mac one! Love it! I use my ecotool powder brush to pat it on my face.

- the coverage is quite good but not as "high as it seems to advertise. But its good enough for me!

- the oil control is great for me for ard 4 hrs of wear (wore it this morning and my skin is still not oily and I have

super oily skin) will test it out longer but I think this is going to be my HG powder foundation!

would definitely purchase it again! ^^

One of the newest masks from Taiwan has reach Singapore!!

With kawaii packaging and a name called "LoveMore" what more can you ask for! =D

This brand has been advertise in japanese magazines like mina, which makes me wanted to try them.

Just when i googled to find out more about them i chance upon the lovely Miss Patterson blog! and she has so generously to give her readers a chance to try out the masks too.

She gave three different flavours to each to 3 of her readers! <3 <3

- Australia Agar Agar Lifting Mask

- Electric Ore Peptide Firming Duo Lifting Mask

- Japan Pearls Firming & Whitening Mask

I received them today (thankyou anto!) and immediately tried out the LoveMore Australia Agar Agar Lifting Mask

Verdict:

- slight cough syrupy smell

- the mask is well woven!! good good i like cos i dislike those that tears easily

- tons of essence in the mask! *five stars!!

- quite huge (very wide but covers the face well)

err a redundant picture below but the arrow shows the extra width of the mask hehe hope you know what i'm talking about >.< (please ignore my hair haha just step out of the bathroom and was eager to try out the mask)

- after 15 mins the area around my chin starts to itch a little T_T and i quickly removed the mask, giving my face a quick wash hence the itch stop. No redness on the face too guess i'm just a little sensitive to the mask? (have this incident with My Beauty Diary red vine mask too)

- But overall my face is moisturised, about the lifting i think it needs a few more usage =D

Overall:

- 3/5 Glad to try it out! Looking forward to use the other flavours too!

How to use (short translation, hope its correct):

- place it on your face for 15-30 minutes.

- No rinsing of the face is required after use (can massage the essence into the face)

But for me, i would always try to massage it into the face for about 10 sec and rinse the rest away as i feel that if i do not rinse it away i would always have tiny spots on the face popping out =.= (too much nutrients)

- Apparently you can soak the mask with the packaging into warm water for 30 secs before use and the results will be better!! (but i have not tried it will try it for the Japan flavour one hehe)

Short Reviews:

Ichikami Hair Treatment: Leaves the hair smooth after use. Although it is said to have a fruity wild sakura aroma but it does not leave this scent in my hair after washing. Fairly affordable. Would purchase this again.

Aussie Opposites attract: Great conditioner, some might not like the smell of it but i have no problems with it. Definitely a repurchase.

DHC mild lotion: it is a toner for all skin type, is alcohol free, no fragrant. Does not cause any irritation for me. There might be cheaper alternatives out there in the market. As i have oily skin i think i would stick to toner for my skin type. But its a good try. =)

Vichy Normaderm Purifying Astringent Toner: from boots website) Toner helps to eliminate impurities and excess sebum as well as tighten pores. Toner for imperfection prone skin. Refreshes my skin after use. Contains alcohol though. Might repurchase.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: My HG "pimple attacking lotion" hehe, helps to dry up pimples. Will repurchase.

Etude House AC Clinic Acne Foam Cleanser: Does not dry out the skin. Does not cause breakouts. Not a must to repurchase but its a nice cleanser.

DHC Acne Spot Therapy: Great for spots but not great for the wallet.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Treatment, Clear Skin Cream: long name, but great for the skin, Neutrogena never fails me! A good moisturizer, does not cause breakouts. Must buy!

Sun Sense Daily Face SPF 50+: It was given to me by my aunt, oil free base, UVA & UVB sun protection. The SPF 50+ is a bonus. Absorbed easily into the skin. Good to try.

My Resolutions of 2011! *will be updated for more~
- have a good time management!
- try to blog more. =D
- spend less on beauty products, clothes, material possessions (hehe or should i say spend wisely)
- with spend less there will be save more! as i would need to take special sem = no much time for holiday jobs and i would like to go Taiwan by the end of the year = $$$ to haul!
- as this is my third year in uni i need to buck up and study well with 1.5 years left to graduate with good honors as S'pore is a tiny country with lots of competition having a good degree is the only(i hope not) way up.
- try to be a better person!

the title might be misleading but i just want to use it due to my "eureka" moment of trying to think of a nice title to fit the purple theme today =D...

Just a short update, hope you guys do not mind..Did some konading during the weekend! i always love the colour purple but i'm picky about the shades of it and this is one of the purple nail polishes that i HEARTTTT.. Combine it with konad stamping and voilà!

Hello! long time no blog..miss you guys~~ is settling down with my intern and trying to get use to sleeping early and waking up early at 530am T_T which is like SUPER early for me (i cannot even hear the birds chirping yet!) and with work, my entertainment life is nearly nonexistent as i do not like to go out during weekdays due to work and would like to rest at home during the weekends (i'm picky)..

A few months ago, Daiso opened a store near my home!! *hooray* have been popping by whenever i have the chance after work since the shopping centre is beside the bus interchange.

I have been trying to find a face mask / face peel to clear the pores as the charcoal face mask that i bought from some MLM company has finished. I did not know that it is so hard to find as most of the brands only sell scrubs but not peels as i love the feeling of having clean pores which is different from using scrubs..err do you understand what i'm talking about? i'm feeling abit lost explaining also XD...

okok skip those...to cut the long story short

this is what i found in Daiso! is actually a nose pack but it works really well for the whole face(tried using the whole face the second time)

- the mask is in white colour
- spread the white liquid/paste around the areas you would like to clear your clogged pores
- you can use it like a "Biore nose pack style" or all over your face

ANND all the gunk came out!! (this is the photo of my second time using the product but it really removes all the rubbish from your skin!)*click to enlarge*

Price: only 2 dollars SGD!!! and its made in Korea (well if this is made in some other country like *ahem _____ i think i would not try it but since it is only 2 bucks why not!)

Note: Apparently this is a hot selling item as the next day i pass by it, the whole FULLY STOCKED RACK is EMPTY!! *smack myself for not purchasing 2 instead of one* I have to wait for a few weeks later before stocking up for myself and the next day it is sold out too! ^^

Verdict: Confirm will always purchase it!

Some might compare it with the highly raved The Face Shop White Mud Pack but i have not tried it before as the price of TFS is highly jacked up in Spore but since Daiso sells a similar item you can try this before finding others.

Short review! Lush's Sweetie Pie!

Its Lush again!..hehe i will try to make alternate posts about my lush reviews and will do other posts other than lush the next time! XD

When i open this container, the first thing that my brother ask is: "Is that grass jelly? can i eat it?" =.= but it really looks like grass jelly huh ^^

From website: Sweetie Pie: Sweet and sophisticated fruitiness. Lashings of blackcurrant and bergamot essential oils in a sour cherry and coconut jelly make this about as fruity as you can get. It is incredibly difficult to resist taking a spoonful. Instead, take a handful and smooth it over your hair and body. Passing strangers will smell you and find their minds wandering to fruit pastilles.

Pros:
- Love the scent!!it smells full of blackcurrent goodness! and very yummy literally..
- a small amount goes a long way! i only use a tiny amount and use it with a loofah and it lathers very well..(*must use a loofah / a bath puff or else the whole jelly will just slide all the way into the drain. as i accidentally drop it onto the bathroom and had a hard time picking it up with my wet hands~)
- looks very pretty with the shimmers!

Cons:
- a little wobbly.. needs to be careful with it
- it is not available in here.. sadded

Verdict: 4.5/5!

......but
It is me or does anyone finds that Lush Rock Star soap smells weird?

Pros:

- keeps me squeaky clean

Cons:

- smells weird (the first thought that came to my mind when i first smell this is it smells like cheap detergent/ slightly smells of vomit)
- not easily available here.

most of the youtube gurus seems to gush about Rockstar soap and how it smells very yummy and those, which makes me think that am i the only one who dislike it? However the smell is ok when you get used to it but it was not love at first sight but still not at second sight haha.. (my mum is ok with the scent of the soap though..so i just it depends on people)
Would i buy this again? haha with my cons outweighing the pros, of course it's a no..

What are your thoughts about this soap?

during the weekend i went to watch Toy Story 3..it is definitely one of my favourite movies!! and is the best among the 3 toy story movie...predictably i shed some tears near the ending T_T (i cry easily when watching shows/movies that have sad parts especially those with sad music even worse) hehe..there is a father of 2 kids sitting beside me who is quitely wiping his tears too! so i think its quite emotional for all huh..

which reminds of the Pixar: 20 Years of Animation exhibition that is at the Singapore Science Centre that i went a few months ago. For those that are in the US i bet you have seen this exhibition eons ago as i think this exhibition has been touring the world for a few years and Singapore is the last stop before they head back to California.

armed with our cameras my cousin and I were planning to take tons of photos of those cute little figures that the creative geniuses at Pixar has created but we found out that photography is banned there. =.=

A short update as i have started work and its been super busy so i don't really have much time to blog but i'm quite "noisy" in twitter though ^^..

since Great Singapore Sale started most of the shops were having discounts , i went to Watsons to have a look and bought this!!

Watsons Moisturising Baby Lotion Wipes

i have been hunting high and low for this as alot of Watsons stores (Ngee Ann city. Jurong point, lot1) were out of stock...

they were THREE for 9.90sgd!! and one packet consist of 90 sheets. Super affordable it was on sale actually and apparently alot of people also look through the newspapers watsons advert like me since so many places were sold out..

i usually use these for EVERYTHING..from wiping:
- my shoes
- insoles
- computer
- laptop
- handphone
- my desk
- bags
...anything that needs to be clean i usually will use wipes..as you do not have to take a cloth and wet it and clean it and wash it..quick and easy XD

But this is the first time i bought this brand but i hope that it will work out to be great!..

FYI: Of course this is a baby lotion wipes and you can use it for that purpose, but with the pricing i will also be using this other than removing dirt from my face/hands/body.As i do not know how good is this housebrand.

However if it is comparable to those wet tissues from Clear & Clear / Gatsby / Biore i would definitely switch brands.

Old news but..Hada Labo has finally reached Singapore shores!!

i bought the highly raved in Japan: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydration Lotion (this is advertised as 1 is sold in EVERY 4 seconds in Japan. and Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion. it seems that both does the same things except that the blue one is a whitening lotion ( with the whitening words my eyes just light up and grab that bottle) haha..it is sold in Watsons and cost 22.90SGD..do hurry up and buy them as they are selling fast!

A few months ago i was looking at Sheila's blog on Lush and as i have been wanting to try out Lush for ages but as you know there is no Lush in S'pore *boohoo*..and i email her if we can have a swap and she kindly agreed!XD..superbly happy as i have never participated in a swap before and lovely Sheila has given me the chance to have swap (well as you never know what kind of ppl you will meet on the internet and with ppl like me with no swap credentials i think ppl would have to be careful XD) *but not of me!!^-^

The packages arrived when i was slogging through mountains of notes for my Mathematics II finals the day after and it sure brighten up my ~~day~~ week!!

the Lush goodies!! my room was full of different types of scents after opening them..

Not a very clear picture as i was rushing to photograph them and putting them into the fridge as the postman came at around noon = under the hot blazing sun..i have no idea what kind of vehicle he uses but the morning postman the things he delivered are always in room temperature but the afternoon postman his packages are always warm = some my lush bars are melting!!...i had to quickly cool them down...but luckily only some have the problem and others escaped the heat..

and the sex bomb bath bomb is super pretty!!! i love the rose in the middle and the smell is absolutely divine!! but i dun think i would bear to use it..

Small Gmarket Haul..

A tiny Gmarket haul from Etude House!(backlog of posts~)..during my exam preparation period, was kind of starved from any shopping experience for a few months as i seldom went to town ever since the semester started..plus i have been looking for a stippling brush and wanted to try things from etude house..Since Gmarket has them i decided to haul from there! heehee with a click of the mouse everything will be sent directly to your home! don't you love online shopping XD..i decided to buy the eyeshadow primer which people have been comparing it to Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion, the Precious mineral makeup essence, the Hand Bouquet Rich Butter hand cream, O2 white mask and the Etude House Duo Fiber Brush. Actually wanted to try out Banila Co stippling brush but they were out of stock.There were samples given buy i forgot to take a picture of them hehe...

After paying them i then remember that there are other things that i can buy from gmarket =.= ...so this called for another reason to haul from Gmarket again! XD

Any must buys for you guys in gmarket?

Note for Gmarket: Do not use up your Gstamp in one go like me =.= i went to click the icon which asks me if i want to use it for a lucky draw for Gcash those(something like that i forgot what the draw is actually about as i just skim through the words and click it)..and ended up winning nothing and losing up all my Gstamps..but you can try your luck by using one at a time.=) for now i'm still not sure what you can do with your Gstamp will update again when i know!~ or does anyone have any ideas what can we do with it?

I have only been using the Duo Fiber Brush and the Hand Bouquet Butter hand cream and have been loving them!..The hand cream is not very oily and it gets absorbed into the skin well if you love he smell of roses you can give it a try..will do a more detailed review on the Duo Fiber Brush after i have some comparison from other stippling brushes..=)

Everytime when i'm stress out from studying i would look out of my window and i'm loving the season of flowers blooming from the trees!~..this is one of them! not sure what kinds of species is this though..but they are a familiar sight around singapore...i think or around my area..hehe

Finally my exams have ended! and these few days i'm kind of enjoying my freedom! Will catchup on commenting soon!

A little breakdown of what i have done!(do skip if you think its boring as i kind of babble here and don't really want to delete them hehe)

Day1: went to watch Iron Man 2 however i think its quite alright with too much of screen time on hitting those irons / constructing those robots haha..yeah as you can say its more of a guy show but i wanted more action!!! and the bad guy died too easily..
Day2: went East coast park for some cycling! but halfway it pours so had to wait for the rain to stop before continuing =.= kind of waste of money as the rent of the bike for 2 hrs.
Day3: went Ikea do to some shopping! as my friend has 15%discount
Day4,5,7:lazing around at home
Day6: Went Daiso
Day8: Cycling(frm ECP to changi) and learn how to blade at ECP but my legs are kind of in a mess right now with tons of wounds =.=
Day9,10: recovering from my aches and wounds haha

A few weeks ago after my TFS makeup remover had hit pan yay!!finally(will do a review on it next time) i have started using Biore cleansing oil. This is my first time trying out cleansing oil as i have heard great things about them.

- Its for all skin types (as stated on the instruction)
- the fragrance is alright, not too overpowering, just nice
- Does not sting eyes
- easy to purchase as it is sold at most of the drugstores, supermarkets and departmental stores
- affordable!!

to prove this i have:

With a few pumps of the cleaning oil, and rub it onto the skin

(ok this looks kind of disgusting so i make the picture smaller hehe click to see the clearer picture =D)

After washing and drying it all the eyeliners and mascaras are gone effortlessly!!(the red mark is because i kinda rub the towel too hard on my skin hehe) Hope that you can see them clearly as this is the first time i took pictures as i tried out the product haha.I'm lousy with the one hand photography.

I was superbly happy that it removes majolica majorca mascara completely and it makes me regret throwing away my Fasio mascara as it is as difficult to remove as the MM mascara.And now i can try out other MM mascaras without having a hard time to remove them! This is the winner for me as i have tried some others makeup remover / wipes but they are kinda of hard to remove the mascara but i have DHC cleansing oil and Softymo speedy cleansing oil which i have bought but have mot tried them yet but i hope they will work too!

Is there any other great products to remove Majolica Majorca mascaras?

Every time i do hauling on drugstore.com i would always add in Aussie 3 Minute Miracle conditioner.

Price: 4.29USD

Pros:
- as i have wavy hair, this conditioner makes my hair feels super smooth and much more manageable making my hair straighter (without having those wayward hair curling here and there)
- takes a shorter time than a normal conditioner?.( as i usually leave it on for 3 mins and wash it off rather than other conditioner in which i leave it on longer to see the effect)
- makes my dry hair (due to the air-condition environment i'm always in) much more moisturize and silky smooth! (ok i think i have repeated this smooth word twice but its really true haha)

- i always love touching my hair after using this as it feels very soft (funny comment but i just wanna put this in XD)
- reasonable price especially when they have BOGOsale!

Cons:
- there is a slight chemical smell / or chemical fruity scent that needs to get used to.
- not available in spore, i think. but widely available in the States?

Verdict:
4.5/5 (because there is always room for improvement! ^_^)
