A SPECIAL POLPETTA

NEW BOSS IN TOWN

2014-02-19T15:08:00.000+01:00

During the Xmas Holiday I had the chance to introdduce you to Tiger: a one and half year old "puppy", a Weimaraner grey dog, with icy eyes.

Finally a few weeks ago we had the possibility to bring him home with us, and I have to admit that when they told me the news, I jumped on the first flight to Pescara in order to enjoy a bit of him by myself. I stayed at home for almost a week along with family and the new addition, riding the bike with him, strolling through the downtown, or simply hugging/playing with him at home.

After a few months of melancholy without Daisy (especially during the Christmas holidays), you only start to feel the warmth that a dog can give, especially in our family.

FYI: A surprise I discovered that my friend Cristina (Kiki!) has good ability to dog sitter, especially with Tiger, which won the hearts of everyone now!

POLPETTA AGAIN...

POLPETTA Again... A Special Polpetta è tornata.

POLPETTA Again... A Special Polpetta IS BACK!

After a long month of stop, I'm here back to start again ASP Blog...I missed you all.

After the Xmas holidays, I've returned to Milano and I concentrated myself mostly on the latest exams' session and on a few interviews for my imminent intership. The weeks have been intensed but "funny", especially during the many hours spent on the books, laughing, full of stress, with a great amount of sweet stuff to eat during breaks, and a good playlist of the greatest music hits.

January has been a though month, I had to restate my priorities, my ambitions, those things I expect to realize after my university career is done. There were "top" days but also a few ones where the rain and the fog mirrored my mood, but ultimately I survived these thirty-one days...and today we re-open the ASP blog season.

In the coming months we will see maybe something new, but also the usual friends of this blog, I do not even know what to expect, but I'm sure that I will share it with my polpette! ;)

TANTI AUGURI KATHY!

BEST OF 2013

2013-12-31T11:19:00.001+01:00

BUON ANNO POLPETTE!

To celebrate the end of 2013 , it seemed right to dedicate some space to those moments that were important, fun, unique, but also ordinary for me, that have kept me most of the time with my feet on the ground, reminding myself that there may be ups and downs, but never miss the smiles, the hugs, the laughter, the tears, the dark moments and then the best ones of our lives. You should always look forward to expect surprises, the unexpected situations , the first few times, new friendships and those found again. You should always be a step forward to help those at the time they needs you , but also be guided by those who have more experience and greater strength.I leave behind a year of these moments, good and bad ones, without remorse on being part of this adventure, my adventure. From 2014 I do not expect anything, but simply the opportunity to enjoy every moment as if it were my last, savor every emotion, feeling, experience, so that in 365 days from today I will again say that I believed in my dreams and in my expectations, as is already happening today.

Xmas Bordello 2013

2013-12-30T16:46:00.001+01:00

In addition to the numerous parties that have been in the past weeks, in Milan and in Rome, one of my favorite is definitely the one on Christmas Night: every year, me and my old friends (the GANG!) meet ourselves in Pescara on the evening of the 25th to toast to "our" Christmas together.

This time the XMAS BORDELLO was really special for mw (although I was not in form, because of flu!) and, after months of being away from home, I also had the opportunity to see a few of my old friends from high school.

After so long, you have guessed very well that any party of the GANG is unforgettable, right?

BEST WISHES FROM THE GANG ...

25.12.2013

2013-12-29T17:14:00.003+01:00

BUON NATALE POLPETTE!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS POLPETTE! ( better late than never !)

As it has happened before, I get sick ONCE a year, the rest is only a few headaches or so. For 2013 , the flu and the common cold have clearly decided to "visit me" on the morning of Christmas Eve: when I got out of bed I quickly realized that it was time to admit to myself that I was ill .
In the next twenty-four hours I spent the eve under the covers, sleeping, reading books and watching movies; in the evening I try to spent a few hours outside home for the Christmas dinner but we might say that this year I was not really in the mood of celebration.
The morning of the 25th , however, I woke up and I had to convince myself to heal now , as in the evening I was going to attend the annual " XMAS Bordello " with my friends.
First, however, I was able to enjoy the Christmas lunch , with a special guest : Gastone ( also called by us the Count ! ), which came directly from Rome and maybe (I say maybe) soon will be part of the family here.

(...)

First of all, this below was my state when I woke up on Christmas morning: I was not just a flower!

The day passed quietly at home, enjoying the food and in the end a beautiful walk on the beach, probably one of the things I love most to do in the winter here: strolling with the dogs, enjoying the wonderful cool colors that let the sun at sunset time.

XMas party - ROMA

2013-12-28T10:29:00.000+01:00

ROMA. 22 Dicembre. Ore 12.

ROME. December 22nd. 12 p.m.

Panic started at Pazienza's home while my sister Kathy was forced to face a multitasking marathon between finishing Christmas ornaments, wrapping gifts and avoiding seven dogs to threat her new dress just worn once.

This is what happens every year on the morning of our "Roman Christmas Lunch", as we usually call it, while we wait for friends and family members for the first round of festivities. It is usually held a few days before Christmas Eve so that we can all join in, and I must admit that this year the whole lunch was really fun.

Of course, the menu was full of food, wine and desserts and I confess that at one point my friend Lollo (the prince!), turned to me and said: "Unbelievable, it's past 5 pm and we are still eating tortellini and soup".... You can only imagine my laughter!

Polpetta + Joe

2013-12-11T16:12:00.001+01:00

Staring this pic, which was taken not long time ago, I can only think about one possible title: "the giant and the shorty"!!! His name is Joe, he has been living with us in the doorm since last year. He's Italian, but most of the times he thinks he's american...a proof is his way to dress, very hipster style - made in USA. Many times we are partners in crimes in the kitchen while we cook, especially if its pasta!

(Please forgive me for my pyjama, but the photo was taken after midnight, so I think it was reasonable!).

XMAS party - Milano

2013-12-10T16:19:00.001+01:00

As usual, December comes with the agenda full of Xmas parties to which we "must" be part of, while waiting for the 25th. Indeed yesterday night we had the first one here at home in Milan: a normal monday night enjoying the company of many friends and singing, playing the tombola, eating and wearing ridiculous headpieces with snow men and reindeers (as you can may noticed in the pics!).

Earlier, I also had enough time to wrapped up my last minute Xmas presents for Ferdinando, Adriano and Simone, and I am glad they liked them!

This week many of us are leaving in order to fly back home for the holidays so we are trying to have fun at last. I supposed that yesterday night was a good start to my annual parties' agenda.

Waiting for the next one, see you soon polpette!

LAZY FRIDAY

2013-12-10T13:34:00.001+01:00

Last friday we have decided to spend the evening chilling at home: laughing crazy in the living room with take away food, I could manage to relax myself after the hard week that just passed. I was completely off because I spent the last days at school finishing my final projects but most important I was emotionally over because I realized that was my last week as a student.

We had the chance to "turn off our minds" and let finally the fun in, espacially when we started playing at the table football (eight people, yes....as you can see in the pic!)...so many laughs!!!

MOVEMBER 2013

2013-12-02T13:32:00.001+01:00

Decemebr is here and this year A Special Dumpling Blog has took part in the project Movember: the name derives from the words "mustache" (in English mustache) and November, and it is an awareness campaign to promote the early detection of prostate cancer.
The motto of the event, which lasts throughout the month of November every year, is to "change the face of men's health."
On this occasion many people close to me, you participate daily to the blog and that are part of my life now, they decided to "put a face" and join with me to the event.
On the one hand it is very nice to see the result of our photos, on the other promettimao us to spread the message.

CONGRATULAZIONI LEO!

2013-11-24T12:47:00.003+01:00

November this year for me is the month of graduations.
First on the list to become a doctor was my dear friend Leo (last week I posted a picture of him on the blog soon after its proclamation!).
Today I managed to put together all the photos taken during the day of graduation from morning till evening during the party, passed between the festivities, toasts and dancing until dawn.
It was a "crazy" day, full of emotions, especially because almost all the GANG was present for the big day of Leo. The rain of Milan once again failed to stop us!
I can only say that the fun has been so overwhelming that it took almost the entire next week to recover and return to routine ...

ti voglio bene DOTTORE!

LEO IS A DOCTOR...HURRAY!!! 15.NOV.2013

Brava Claudia!!!

2013-11-24T12:30:00.001+01:00

Another weekend of graduations. Other doctors have become part of the GANG.

On Friday it was the turn of Claudia, my ex-roommate, who was able to brighten a day so important despite the cold weather and the fog that has fallen out of Milan.
At first, the tension was high, and I was pretty nervous, but once the ceremony started, once delivered the graduation diploma and took pictures of the whole family, the Doctor was relaxed, enjoying the festivities all day long.
I'm really proud of my "Crudelia"!!!

Doctor Marco!

2013-11-23T20:56:00.001+01:00

The last graduation of the weekend was the one of my (acquired) cousin MARCO. He's been part of the family since we were very young and when he entered the Bocconi as a freshmen three years ago, he practically ruined in a good way my university life: I started to introduced him as my "cousin", and during the first months he was a real playboy with my friends, but not long after he put his head down on the books. With the passing to the exams' sessions I followed him between stressful situations fantastic evenings spent together while having fun.

This is the reason why last saturday for me was one of those moments I will remember very well: having been with him, in one way or another, until the graduation made me realize to be proud of him.

CONGRATULATIONS DOCTOR!

(I have posted only a few photos because I was too busy with my emotions...ahahha).

Al dottor Leo

Tonight...Paint Your Face

2013-11-09T13:32:00.000+01:00

E' sabato.

Ecco qui: "Give me a white T-shirt!".

Buon weekend polpette!

It's Saturday. Today we are preparing the house for the party of the year. This time the theme will be "paint your face" and you all know how much we love these kinds of parties.

For now I still exaclty don't know what I will look like tonight, but as you may notice from the pic, the make up will include fake eyelashes and some fluo.

I'm pretty sure tomorrow we will have tons of funny pictures to show you...

Do you remember last year's party with the personalized t-shirts?

Here you go: "Give me a white T-shirt!".

Have a good weekend polpette!

MUSIC POST "Feel Again"

2013-11-06T11:49:00.001+01:00

This week I have the latest song to add to my playlist, which is driving me crazy and I sang (and dance along) it all day long. As always, when I get "stuck" by a song track, this becomes practically my daily soundtrack, especially if the weather here is rainy and foggy.

ENJOY!

In Austria - part 2

2013-11-05T14:19:00.001+01:00

PARTE SECONDA.

PART TWO. After the first few days spent sleeping, my vacation at grandparents' took a "good way" thanks to the beautiful autumn days. One thing that really struck me is how grown is my cousin Jo: she's now eight years old but looks more mature from her thoughts, but also by her ability to took good photos and modeling in front of the camera!

My grandparents live in a small village in the mountains of Styria, so this limits my movements a little, but because I have spent most of my holidays as a child there, it is always nice to walk along the paths of the country, meet the people who I have watched me growing up, and how many memories I have when I'm in my grandmother's garden....

ENJOY

In Austria - part 1

2013-11-03T23:16:00.001+01:00

Ciao Polpette!

Hello Polpette! After a break from everything and everyone, now I am back to reality in Milan, university, home and a busy agenda.
These last ten days have been fantastic, in fact the holiday with my grandparents in Austria could not get any better than that.

As expected my routine involved a lots of food, long walks in the woods with the dog and entire afternoons spent playing with my cousin Jo.
Of course there are the landscapes like those in fairy tales enchanted with late autumn's vibrant colors , but luckily the temperatures have not been very low this time.
There are now a couple of years that I decided to take an "Austrian getaway" and during this stay visiting the grandparents I am usually very lazy ... I do have to say that I enjoy the pampering and I return to the childhood mood.

I took many pictures with the iPhone during my walks and I will try to show them to you a little at a time this week. For now I leave you a glimpse of what was the background of this enchanted vacation.

Quasi in vacanza

2013-10-23T22:44:00.002+02:00

Ultimo sforzo.

Last effort. Today is finally the last day of study: in 24 hours, tomorrow, I will be on vacation, ready to pack up and leave for a week of absolute relax.

This photo is the perfect way to let you know how I am feeling today: I'm currently on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of the thousands of concepts I am trying to impress upon my head. In the meantime, I am expecting the boys to come back home from their own exam.

(I predict great celebration from them for my absence from home tomorrow night.... eheheheh!).

Music Post: "ALL OF ME"

2013-10-23T13:14:00.000+02:00

It's been almost a week since I have started to sing all day long the new single by John Legend titled "All of me".

In particular, I like when I sings this part:

"You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you"

("Sei la mia fine e il mio inizio, Anche quando perdo sto vincendo, perchè io ti do tutto di me e tu mi dai tutto di te")

Time Out

2013-10-20T12:23:00.000+02:00

Buona domenica polpette!

This time we are spending our weekend in "tranquility": easy Friday night, a nice walk on Saturday and Sunday full of study books, food and relax.

Next week will be filled with books and study days in order to be prepared for exams, but then the reward will be very appreciated: in less than sevens days I am going to see my grandparents in Austria!

For now I leave you with this funny snap Massi took yesterday while we were out and about...

Have a good Sunday polpette!
