Easel Card

Todays card was one I thought I already posted back when the Easel card was all the rage. This is a card we made at my December technique class. This technique is called emboss resist. You stamp your image using VersaMark and pour embossing powder over it, heat with the heat too until the image becomes shiny. Then sponge ink over your stamped image and wipe with a napkin. The embossed image will resist the ink.

"Always" Valentine Card

The card for today is created with the "Always" stamp set. This heart can be used for so many different occasions. We made this card at my January Stamp-a-Stack class. To create this card, we ran the Pretty in Pink cardstock through the Big Shot using the Finial Press Embossing Folder. Stampin' Up! is coming out with more and more of these embossing folders and I just LOVE them. We stamped the heart in Basic Black, then stamped it again using Melon Mambo on a scrap piece of cardstock. We cut out the Melon Mambo heart and then placed it over the black heart and popped it up using a dimensional. Pretty neat, huh?

Snow Buddies Thank You Note Card

WOW, I thought I had posted this note card last month and found a few other cards I had not posted either! Stay tuned for those coming soon. I created this thank you note card using the Snow Buddies stamp set and Merry Moments Designer Series Paper. These are really cute and simple note cards. I designed these to send our family and friends for the gifts we received this Christmas. Hope they like the card, we loved our gifts! The More the Merrier, Dots or Not?

Dots or Not? This is one of the cards we will be making at my January Stamp-a-Stack class Friday. This is a really quick card you could use for your workshops too! I think I like the top one with the Polka Dot Background (which has now retired) stamped on the top of the card better, but my best friend liked it without. Which one do you like best? Did you notice one has Thanks so much from Sincere Salutations and the other one has Happy Valentine's Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes? This card could be used for so many different occasions.

Party Hearty "Bubble Wrap" Technique Class

Hi Stampers,
We just made this card at my January Technique Class. Can you guess what the technique was? It's called the "bubble wrap" technique! Can you guess where the bubble wrap is? Check out the background image, see the Crushed Curry dots, those are the dots from the bubble wrap. Isn't it really cool? It is a very easy technique, but if you end up with inky fingers don't blame me! (smile). We inked up the bubble side of our bubble wrap paper by pressing the bubble wrap onto our stamp pad. Then we laid the bubble wrap on our Whisper White piece of cardstock and pressed it flat with our hands (you could use a brayer too). Make sure your bubble wrap doesn't have any flat or popped bubbles or it will not leave an impression. When you press the bubble wrap on your cardstock and if you missed a spot, just ink up a bubble from your bubble wrap paper and press it down in the spot where you missed. Totally awesome!

To get the hats different colors, we inked each individual hat with a different color marker. The hat image is from the Party Hearty stamp set. I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but the middle hat and the hat on the top right corner of the card has been popped up using a Stampin' Dimensional and has glitter too! Happy Moments Stamp Set Valentine Card

Another Valentine card for today! Don't you just LOVE Valentine's Day? I do! This is one of the four cards we will be making at my January Stamp-a-Stack class this Friday in Fredericksburg VA. I used the Scallop Border Punch on all four corners of the Whisper White cardstock. You can receive this punch for FREE when you place an order of $50 (before shipping and tax) during our Sale-A-Bration promotion which runs until March 31st. Like the little red heart? I also used the new Small Heart Punch from the 2010 Occasion Mini catalog to punch the heart which is popped up using a Stampin' Dimensional. I thought it added a nice little touch to the card, what do you think? I stamped Valentine Please Be Mine from the Holiday Best stamp set and then stamped the bird cage from the Happy Moments stamp set (another SAB product). I drew a line from the bird cage to the saying with a Basic Black Stampin' Up! Marker and colored the flowers with a Real Red Stampin' Up! Marker. Oops! I almost forgot to mention I stamped the Real Red cardstock with an image from the Charming stamp set too. It's kinda hard to see, but it's there! You Can Help the People of Haiti

As you know, on January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti. They are in desperate need of help. Stampin' Up! bought supplies for 5,000 hygiene kits and a few of their vendors also donated supplies for these kits. Stampin' Up! employees helped assemble these kits in ONE day, can you believe that? President Dale Fillmore came up with the idea and even helped assemble the kits. "Things I Love" Airplane with Smarties, Gum and Life Savers Candy

This is the project we will be making at our January club class tonight. This would make cute Valentines to pass out to anyone who loves candy! The airplane idea came from a swap I saw at a past convention, so I created one using a Stampin' Up! stamp set "Things I Love" you can receive for FREE during Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion. My best friend LOVES Smarties and I LOVE these new Cherry Lemonade Life Savers which I used for the wheels! They are to die for! Gotta give them a try and tell me what you think. I bought a big bag and needless to say I had to stop eating them or I wouldn't have had any for our project tonight. I also used Double Mint Gum for the wings. Do you know that it is harder to find stick gum than it used to be. What's up with that? Have a good day and don't eat too many of those Life Savers!

Viola Valentine!

I just love this guy! I designed this card using the "Viola" stamp set. I watercolored the images with my stamp pads and aqua painter. He looks much better in real life, the scan really doesn't do him justice. I paper-pieced his hat and then tied a piece of red gingham ribbon around the scallops, neat idea huh?
