Another Technique Card

Isn't this pretty? Another card for the Technique Class on Wednesday and Thursday this week. The Technique is called FAUX TEARING - fun and simple with stunning results! We'll be using the NEW Blossom Punch and Mixed Bunch stamp set. The butterflies are from Nature Walk.

And now for some more creativity...my daughter, Hailey wanted to play a part in my new stamp room - MY HAPPY PLACE. She did a little designing when we were in the laying out and designing phase. The girls' got good taste...she wanted me to purchase cupboards and cabinets with doors so everything was all tidy and neat. Well that just wasn't in the cards...so her "design" went down the tubes. But I found a way for her to help with my room...she can decorate it! Like I said - she's got good taste - I completely trust her in whatever she comes up with. After she did a little project for me (I'll show you that later) she surprised me with the picture below!!!! Isn't it adorable? It will get a prominate spot in MY HAPPY PLACE!!!

On a side note...hubby has been with me for the past 2 weeks - 24/7!!! He had another knee surgery again (same knee was done back in August). The benefit of this...he did a lot of cooking after that 1st week!!! I LOVE THAT...because I HATE to cook...love to bake, but I'd rather scrub toliets than cook a meal - LOL! So on his last night off work he went out and got a new grill...and had to try it out in a snowstorm! The steaks & potatoes were delicious. Today - I had the house back to myself...and it was fabulous. I actually stamped in MY HAPPY PLACE!!! As soon as I get things decorated and completely moved in...I'll be sharing tons of photos with you...I can hardly wait!!!

Apothecary Art Sample & My Room

Here's an elegant card I made using the the new Apothecary Art stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I can't tell you how much I LOVE the new Framelits. They are sooooo easy to use.

The new Blossom Punch is a perfect background for the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch in the middle. Where did this Designer Paper, ribbon and matching Brads come from??? The upcoming Sale-A-Bration mini catalog - that's where!!! The Everyday Enchantment paper is just gorgeous...and the matching brads are adorable - they come in a bundle with two rolls of ribbon. Sale-A-Bration starts on Tuesday!!! These items are FREE with a $50 order...can't wait to share them with you!!!

You can see the Adorning Accent Embossing really good here. We have the dies and the matching embossing folders. I love them!!!

Cut the edge and then emboss it - what would be better???

MY HAPPY PLACE

Here's an update on what's been happening in my new stamping room....I'm calling it my HAPPY PLACE...because I can't wait to get out of my frigid dungeon! It just so happens that I have a "under construction" bathroom right next to my HAPPY PLACE. This really came in handy when I was cutting all the wood trim. So glad I didn't have to run back and forth to the garage in this weather. Here's my work station....that's my compound miter saw....my VERY good friend!!!

And my new filing cabinets...I picked these up at WalMart. I wanted white filing cabinets to store my cardstock in...soooo....I sanded them and spray painted them white.

This is not the finished product...but I do have to tell you that painting black cabinets white takes quite a bit of spray paint! I also have to tell you what NOT TO DO! DO NOT let your husband talk you into just using his left over spray paint in the garage for the final touch ups, instead of going and buying one more can! URGH! It is definately different on the finished product.

I'm just finishing up recessing my nails here.

I have to tell you that my room is pretty much done! I have a couple little things to finalize...like the gap in the floor by the closet opening...urghhhh. I'll figure something out! Anyways - that's my problem - not yours. I am now in the process of building a cabinet for the 55" long piece of countertop I ordered. Here's the start of my cabinet - LOL! All I know is it needs to be 55" long! What you're looking at is the base - so it's upside down right now. And I'm building the cabinet from the shelving that's leaning against the wall. The staircase spindles you see there will be part of it too!!! I have some big plans for this baby. It's gonna be my Big Shot center!!! Can't wait to show you what I come up with - off the seat of my pants!

Technique Class!!!

Boy oh boy...I have a GREAT line up in store for you next week!!! It's a jam packed TECHNIQUE CLASS! You'll enjoy making five cards and going home with a wealth of stamping information. Two of the cards you'll be making are shown in this post.

We'll be using a technique called Plaid Silhouette;
Learning how to make frames with the new Framelits;
Learning a new technique called EMBOSSED EMBOSSING; and
Playing with a little FAUX TEARING!!!

Here's a close up of the die cut flower...these are sooo elegant.

The EMBOSSED EMBOSSING technique is so much more spectacular in person.

Just ink up a brayer with VersaMark and lightly run it across your embossing folder on the "raised" side of the image, use your Embossing Buddy on your cardstock and run it through the Big Shot.

Pour on your embossing powder and brush off any excess with a small paint brush. Sometimes it will try to stick in places it shouldn't...

Heat set your embossing powder. If you have any areas that didn't get good coverage - you can use the handy VersaMarker to touch up and re-powder and heat again. Very cool looking in real life!!!

I embossed the stamped image from the Apothecary Art stamp set - a beautiful new set in the Occasions Mini. Then stamped the image again in Island Indigo ink and punched out the center circle with the 1" Circle Punch and colored the leaves in with a Lucky Limeade marker. The embossed image is popped up on Dimensionals and so is the 1" circle.

Here's a set in Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant cardstock.

I've had a few of you contact me about signing up for classes after the "Tuesday noon" deadline...you're waiting to see all the cards for each class. I just want to update you on why I'm not posting "all" the cards. I am desperately working on my new stamp room...which is taking WAYYYY more time than I thought it would. Getting all the cards done for each class each week takes alot of time - so does photographing and editing and cropping and advertising... So you'll need to decide to take the class based on a couple photos and the theme of the class. Most demonstrators don't show the cards for upcoming classes...so being able to see a couple is better than none. Please bear with me while I continue to work like a dog getting my new stamping space ready to roll. Let me tell you - with this frigid weather - it's only 60 degrees in my basement - my hands are cold and my feet are freezing! My little space heater just can't keep up.

Sign up sooner than later. With my time being cut short - this really helps so that I don't have to go back through all my stuff to cut for more people after the deadline - THANKS SOOOOO VERY MUCH!!!!

Framelits Dies Video & NEW Room Sneak Peek!!!

If you've been wondering where I am....well - I have GREAT news about my new stamping room - you remember - the one I started gutting back in September!!!! I've been working like a dog trying to get it remodeled. Here's a little sneak peek:

I just can't hardly wait to show you my finished room! I took out all the wood molding and carpeting...I've laid a laminate wood floor - built these shelves in the closet - painted the room 3 different colors - painted the ceiling...I painted all the molding white and installed the baseboards, window and door molding. I have to paint the crown molding and install it (I have it all cut and ready). I've recessed all the nails and filled them in with wood filler. I still have to hit them with a little paint.

When all that's done - I have to build my table...I'm still thinking pretty hard on this one. I ordered countertop in an "L" shape - I bought 2 filing cabinets - sanded them and repainted them white. I'm planning on putting the file cabinets under the counter top on each end to hold my table up. The part I'm struggling with is figuring out the leg in the front corner of my table... I also ordered a piece of countertop to make a cabinet under one of my windows (YES - you can see I will have windows!) So I have to build something to go under it. You know I'll show you a ton of photos when I'm done!!!!

CLARIFICATION: There seems to be some confusion about the new location that was added to my schedule in Little Chute. I was only referring to my weekly classes that I hold on Wednesdays at Hobby Lobby in Oshkosh & Thursday mornings in Menasha. These are a fee based class - $15 - with no order required - I have named them my C.O.O.L. Stamping Classes. The new class in Little Chute - replaces the class I was teaching at my house in Menasha on Thursday mornings only. This does not replace any other classes in Menasha. I just moved the Thursday morning class from my house to Little Chute. I hope this clears everything up.
