It seems that almost every few months another work appears that professes to tell about Lilith and her mythos. The problem is that, more times than not, the work tends to rehash a Wikipedia article, or three, go over the same considerations, many times word for word. There is also the issue of there being no references to refer to many times as well. A review then of a work that held a bit more promise and yet didn’t quite manage what it could have.

Title: Understanding Lilith

Author: Dyrk D’Raven

Published By: Amazon Digital Services

Length: 222 Pages

Format: eBook

ASIN: B0FS26JWN8

Publishing Date: September 21, 2025

This work in Kindle Format at Amazon.com

The work tells of:

Lilith: Queen of Shadows, Mother of Rebellion

Feared as a demon, revered as a goddess, and embraced as the first woman who refused to submit — Lilith has haunted myths, rituals, and the dreams of witches for millennia. This book is a complete guide to working with Lilith as archetype, spirit, and living current of power.

Drawing from Mesopotamian roots, Hebrew legends, folklore, and modern witchcraft, this work reveals Lilith as more than a figure of fear. She is the Dark Mother, liberator, and shadow guide, calling those who walk the crooked path to empowerment, transformation, and self-sovereignty.

Inside you will discover:

Lilith’s origins in Babylonian, Jewish, and global folklore Her faces as witch mother, succubus, rebel, and liberator Rituals of invocation, evocation, and dreamwork Correspondences with Tarot, astrology, crystals, colors, animals, herbs, and symbols Lilith’s role in shadow work, psychology, and Jungian archetypes Guided meditations, devotional practices, and offerings Practical rituals for both Northern and Southern Hemisphere witches Written in a mystical yet accessible voice, this book bridges scholarship and living practice. Whether you approach Lilith as goddess, demoness, archetype, or spirit ally, she offers the gifts of power, sexuality, liberation, and uncompromising truth.

Step into the circle of shadows and fire, and discover why witches across the world honor Lilith as both guide and guardian of the night.

The work is, generally, an overview of Lilith in many forms, myths, and modern day themes which try to tie her original legends into a more current form. The chapters are rather short, being very much likened to a summary of some aspects of research overall. At the same time, some of the more esoteric commentary and notes have a bit of a more considered aspect to them that was interesting.

At times a research paper needing more research, at others a metaphysical consideration that needs to be explored more than it was. It’s a generalist approach really and somehow that feels like the work was quickly put together and that bothers me. It’s one thing to take summaries of ideas and concepts, to note them and move on. It’s something far more interesting to delve into them, to draw thought and consideration for one to reflect upon.

Three out of five pitchforks.

Overall it is an interesting overview and consideration of thoughts, if some of the passages are a bit looped back upon themselves. In a generalist way, it is a good initial exploration of Lilith and her mythos, though perhaps a bit too glossed over and a bit rushed at times which is a shame.

While I do enjoy all of their works, when they turn their writing towards Succubi, there are some really quite unique stories told and they always delight me.

The work tells of:

Dr. Aris Thorne was a brilliant botanist obsessed with a legend: a flower that didn’t just grow, it fed. Deep in the humid twilight of her private greenhouse, she cultivated her masterpiece, the Orchis Nocturna, a sentient bloom that consumes life to fuel its own dark transformation. Aris didn’t just discover the flower; she became its chosen vessel, its high priestess.

For Detective Kaito Reed, the case began as a missing person. It ended when he witnessed the impossible from a bell tower high above the city: a woman, bathed in crimson light, draining the life from a victim until nothing but dust remained. He saw Aris shed her skin like a serpent and reveal the predator within.

Now, Kaito is a ghost, haunted by a video no one will believe and a secret that is slowly consuming him. Aris, a succubus of terrifying power and intellect, has her sights set on her lone witness. She toys with him, invading his dreams, blurring the line between terror and ecstasy, and forcing him to question his own sanity and desires. As the police close in, Aris orchestrates a final, perfect act of deception—a body swap that leaves her captured and her loyal follower, Chloe, wearing her face.

But the case isn’t closed. It’s just beginning.

In a maximum-security asylum, the woman they think is Aris awaits a final, deadly delivery. In the outside world, the real Aris, wearing a new face, prepares to unleash her creation upon the world. The Bloom is a story of transformation, obsession, and a horror that doesn’t just kill. It blooms, and its harvest is just beginning.

A mystery unlocked becomes the darkness unending. A choice made from lust and hunger unleashed turns towards erotic control and power. Among all of the darkness a flower blooms and grows, the seeds planted and spreading without end.

The work is an erotic fantasy transformation story with a succubus edge to the changes along with quite a bit of body dark erotica. Along with that comes a well told story, universe building that offers something amazing too. It is a dark story, there is death and destruction, but it isn’t there to be meaningless. The story brings purpose to the characters, their darkness and what comes from that.

The erotic aspects of the story mix well, both in the heat, but as well to take the story towards the impending transformations, darkness and changes in the characters themselves. In respect of the succubus theme, those erotic interludes I thought gave much needed life and detail to what happens to the main character and others she changes with her or uses for her designs. It’s all very hot and erotic from the first kiss to the last killing and it all makes sense and doesn’t feel out of place.

Aris, the main character of the work, undergoes a transformation in quite a unique way, the result being her becoming a kind of succubus, but not in the expected sort of way. That’s not to say she isn’t a succubus, for she is in power, form and presence, but especially her hunger and need. She is a schemer. a plotter and, eventually, vey much a force of evil with purpose. She isn’t one-dimensional or does something for the sake of it either and that made her a fare better character.

A number of minor and perhaps not so much so, characters are also transformed, some are used, some are taken and others become pawns in the game Aris plays. They have various personalities, some are thin, for they exist only a short time, but others have depth and they become important to the story as a whole. For all of these characters, they are succubi, of a kind, and perhaps a bit on the mysterious side of things, but with an erotic edge that I thought worked really quite well.

Four out of five pitchforks.

The story closes on something of a cliff hanger of impeding doom which works really well with tall that came before. I might have liked a bit more of Aris at the end, a little more finality for her than the story gave. As a corruption and transformation story it is really well done. The succubus aspects are as well captivating and the story delights throughout. Just a really telling read and I enjoyed it very much.

Generally, there are some costumes that really hold nothing for me. The tacky usually is the problem, and there is a lot of that. Still, sometimes, there is something I like and more often than not… it’s the shoes.

This is the Lucifer’s Lady Costume and it comes with the dress and the horns. Pitchfork, fishnet tights, and of course the heels are not included and it sells for $36 US.

I do not care for the style, how the hems are cut, and overall it’s really a poor looking tacky red dress. Which means, as it usually does, that a really sexy, attention grabbing red dress and a pair of cute horns will outclass this easily.

But, and there is a small but here, I think I want those heels. For reasons of course and adding to my infinite shoe collection has nothing to do with that at all.

One pitchfork out of five.

Want the heels, the rest is meh.

A review of the eighth work in the Reborn as the First Boss series by Stuart Grosse today on the Tale and yet again the story still has moments, but a lack of any Succubus theming, which the main character is, continues to bother me. A reference here or there is one thing, but otherwise there’s really no meaning to her being one and that feels like an aspect of the story that just is getting forgotten.

More so in this work than the prior ones, the problem with LitRPG comes out as there are so many stats and new powers being gained that well over one-half of the pages are devoted to the main character’s stats, or referencing other character’s, and it feels like the book is focused on that. I know that needs to happen, but it’s becoming really tedious and that just wrecks the story for me at least.

Title: Reborn as the First Boss: Book 8 – Elven Lands

Author: Stuart Grosse

Published By: Amazon Digital Services

Length: 180 Pages

Format: eBook

ASIN: B0FKWLKFFB

Publishing Date: July 31, 2025

This work in Kindle Format at Amazon.com

The work tells of:

Mhyrsha and her growing harem of pets have made their way to the elven land of Bikar, on their way to Crystalshield in her guise as Alis Pureheart, a Baroness playing adventurer. But while the troubles in Dascora are behind her, not everything is at peace in Bikar. Werewolves stalk the forests, raiding merchant caravans, and the Theocracy of Eclana is always causing trouble.

Of course, that is not the only wrinkle in her plans. After all, the fall of the Goblin Hero gave rise to another. What will come when the Roaming Boss meets this Hero?

Mhyrsha’s battles continue and things just keep getting more complicated. It’s not enough to be making a name for herself, now she needs to be more. But along the way, sometimes doing the right thing is more important than the power you might be offered.

The work follows on from the prior work in the series, Mhyrsha being the focus here as she travels onwards, gaining more power as the story develops and the trouble around her brews. Much of that story was interesting, at least until the stats started appearing and I started skipping pages.

The focus on stats remains a real problem as almost one-half of the pages are dedicated to noting all of them that Mhyrsha has. I understand it, that is how LitRPG is, but at what point are there enough power collected and character development can get a chance to make the story and the characters more interesting and have more depth than just thinking about the stats they are gaining or fighting against.

Mhyrsha actually uses one of her succubus aspects, but that’s in a battle and it’s her claws. She being a succubus seems to mean very little to the story and doesn’t come into play. She has a lot more aspects now, she is developing as a character, but at the same time it would be nice to fall back on her succubus nature and see where that takes her because that is a huge missing part of her story.

Two and a half out of five pitchforks.

There is, just barely, a reference to Mhyrsha’s succubus nature, but honestly that is wearing a bit thin. Beyond that, the way the stats are becoming so invasive in the storytelling just doesn’t work for me. It’s honestly a shame because there is a good story here, but the stats and going over them constantly just doesn’t work.

There are stories still to be told; they await the points in time when they can move from my thoughts to my fingers and appear. Sometimes events happen which push things aside from the moment we are in because of the . . .

Needs Today
By TeraS

We all have lists. They remind us of many, many things. There are the to-do lists, the should-do lists, the want-to-do lists, and… . . . the many wish-could-do lists. Each is telling in its own way. Each one has a story to tell, a truth we know, and a purpose that just is. Lists are a means towards gathering the pieces of time and space around us and putting them into little boxes which we sort through when the time comes. Sometimes the lists . . . just don’t quite happen.

We find ourselves pulled off towards things that demand we deal with them now. They get pushed towards the front of the line and everything else which was on a list, and there are many of those items, becomes pushed back . . . more often than we realize at the time.

Time passes and the lists grow longer still. Some of the items on those lists get sorted, checked off, dealt with–there are many ways to say that things have been taken care of before we move onwards. But there is that one list we can never, not ever, complete, and it is the hardest one of all to look at every time we do. The list of wish-we-could-do’s seems to grow more than any other one, for it is the list we just . . . cannot accomplish.

The most telling of all are the things we wish we could do one more time. To say “I love you” to those we cannot say those words to anymore is the hardest thing of all. These are things we shouldn’t have on a wish list; they are the things we need to say regardless of the lists we have. They are the most important things, beyond everything else, and they matter.

Life, they say, is full of regrets. We shouldn’t realize only when the moment is past, the time is gone, and the chance is no more that we could have done better. We can do better; we should do better, the lists be damned. Our nature is that there will be a tomorrow, that there will always be a tomorrow. Some of us will never see it and we, those left behind, can only say we wish we could.

It doesn’t have to be that way. We can make the time for a call, a note, a moment to say “I love you” with them close by, to hear the smile in their voice, to see the way a note returns, to feel how a hug and the answer in kind goes both ways. Our souls are soothed a little. We know that we said the words and it mattered. The ache is a little less, the time moves on, and the moment is remembered when we have no means to make new ones with them.

It’s in the moments when something happens where we are reminded that we could have done better, we always could have done better . . . couldn’t we? The guilt simmers, the tears are there, the sigh and sadness is overwhelming. We remember the past, the lists, the things that were more important at the time, and we wonder if they really were. Some were; we cannot say they weren’t. Many might have been, some could have been, and some we wish need not have been. Those lists seem to multiply now, the depths of our reflections making them appear out of thin air. The new lists crowd the other ones, the choices are more, the decisions made pulling at us . . . and it never ends.

It is the list of regrets that becomes the largest list of all, the one we review in our minds in the middle of the night when we cannot sleep. The darkness cloaks us, it holds sway in the moment and, more often than not, we do not sleep for the many, many things we regret. We just can’t let go of that thought, and it does more to us than we realize.

In a Realm of Tails, an ebon-maned Queen looks at the lists around her. In another world, an ebon-maned woman stares at her own lists. They shed tears, walk away from the lists, and stare off into space for a time. They think about what matters to them, the souls they care about, more than those souls might really know. Two sets of so-green eyes are still damp with tears as the women sigh in spite of themselves and reflect on it all. They decide, in that way they do, that it matters; it will always matter. To share love, to be loved, to know love is what their lives are founded upon. The tears are wiped away and the sighs pass, their force of will saying everything about them.

There is a fence that exists in the Realm and in a metaphorical way, exists in another world. It is a foundation which brought the ebon-maned woman and her succubi self to know their heart, to find their way to a Goddess they didn’t understand at first, but know better for the wisdom–and he is wise–of their heart. The words she manages at the fence they share sometimes don’t say everything, sometimes they say too much (he says they never say too much), and she apologies for that. She doesn’t want to be a burden, doesn’t want to allow her own fears and worries to become his. She believes, as she does, that would be unkind and she never wishes to be (he knows her never to be a burden, but that’s another tale).

The lists are there; they will always be there. They are of her own making, and she knows this. So the lists are pushed aside, they matter less when she is by the fence, talking to her heart.

Sometimes the one list that matters the most is the one that lists who is most important to us . . . always.
