I’m HOT!  And not in the good way.  It is not even June and the way the sun comes up, it hits our bedroom window and heats up the room. I have woke up every morning this week burning up.

What am I going to do about it?  I am on a mission.  A mission to have  cooler house with out lowering the thermostat in my home.

Last year I bought 3 wide wood slat blinds from a yard sale for $2 each.  I have not up to this point decided where to put them.  Now I know.  I am going to change out my $5 blinds from Walmart and put the thicker blinds up to help block the sun.

I am also going to go visit Big Lots.  I noticed the other day that they had sun blocking curtains on sale for $12 each.  I would need 2 sets.

I am bad about putting a load of laundry in the dryer as I am going to bed or as I get up in the morning.  Our laundry room is on the other side of the wall from our bedroom.  I have not decided yet if this is a cause of the heat or not but I think it calls for not doing laundry right before bed from now on.  lol.

Any suggestions on how you lower your temperature in your home with out lowering the thermostat?
