Ask a friend, or fmaily member to watch your baby so that you can take walks for some exercise. If nothing works out, work out while your baby naps. Work out sessions of 15 minutes two times daily makes it equal of exercising 30 or 45 minutes daily.</p>

<p>Did you know your nutrition, and calorie necessities get higher, especially when nursing? It is very important to eat the right amounts of calories so your metabolic system will run correctly. You should also keep away from the junk foods when possible, and give your body foods like whole grains, low fat dairy products, green leafy veggies, and fresh fruits. You should not go over 2 hours without a meal, and keep eating meals several times through the day. This will not only kick start your metabolism, but also keeps you energized all the time for fast weight loss.</p>
<p>Weight loss during pregnancy is not a singles act so get your baby in the exercise! You can join other new moms in the community, and go out on stroller walks, or while your still carrying just walk along. If no such thing exists in your neighborhood, just walk the dog. This method seems to work great to lose weight for pregnant women.</p>
<p>Get Good Sleep</p>
<p>Lack of sleep leads to a reduced immunity system, and emotional tension. Pregnancy will keep you feeling tired, so it is very important to take proper rest. Taking tiny naps during the day helps save your energy, which is good for you and the baby.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What is the difference between Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST) and Bowen Therapy? &#8211; This is a question so many Bowen therapists has asked me over and over again, that I&#8217;ve decided to put together the following article to fully explore that subject.</p>
<p>NST was developed from the later work of Tom Bowen. In other words it uses the techniques that his later students learnt before he died. The choreography of NST was due to extensive testing using the principles of Kinesiology. There are similarities between NST and Bowten versions, but there are also many significant differences. </p>
<p>These differences are the core effectiveness of NST. The work is representative of Tom&#8217;s later work- it does not mean that this is exactly what Tom himself did &#8211; as Tom&#8217;s work was forever evolving &#8211; NST is likewise evolving as practitioners learn more about the body using this wonderful technique.The development of NST involved combining three powerful and effective neuromuscular techniques. The philosophy of NST is based upon the work of chiropractor, Major Bertrand DeJanette&#8217;s Sacro-occipital technique, the tool of validation and testing was Applied kinesiology and the technique itself being derived from the work of Tom Bowen.</p>
<p>From my <a href="http://www.nsthealth.com/ron-phelan">own clinical experience</a> in the Geelong region, treating clients of Tom Bowen, having used Bowen and now NST, the later is more dynamic than the other versions and, works more effectively. It is faster to implement and gives better results. In fact I&#8217;ve had some of these clients say this is close to what Tom did.I have also seen/experienced four different versions of the work through four of Tom&#8217;s six students. NST offers an integrative blend of all versions, making it a comprehensive overview of the type of work Tom was using the later part of his career.</p>
<p>NST is also taught within a theoretical and practical viable model, giving insight as to why the moves are used. NST basic course is 5 days and is only taught to practitioners who are in clinical practice and as such is taught within anatomical and physiological boundaries. It covers the spinal area and extremities.Generally practitioners who have taken other forms of Bowen find that NST is the most comprehensive and effective version.I ran a class for experienced Bowen practitioners in Edmonton, Canada this year and here are some of the comments I&#8217;ve received:</p>

<p>Also a comment about Neurostructural Integration Technique from David Howells a Chiropractor, Bowen Therapist and recently a NST teacher in the UK: &#8220;Basic Bowen training was for me a revelation in achieving structural balance and neurological function. However, there were many cases where I felt limited in what I was able to offer clients. NST moved me on in my thinking and ability to address the sticking points that clients presented with. Now on average my number of treatments are 2 -3 for addressing both acute and chronic muscular skeletal issues . The feedback from clients is that they consistently prefer the NST approach as they feel the work seems to go deeper in addressing their problems.&#8221;

<p>&#8220;3, 2, 1&#8230; GO!&#8221; </p>
<p> To the spectator, it feels like the start of a drag race. To the seasoned observer, however, it&#8217;s the familiar beginning of something special &#8212; the start of the best workout you can get. It&#8217;s called CrossFit, a sweeping fitness program that has moved from obscurity to worldwide spectacle.</p>
<p> CrossFit was started in the seventies by Greg Glassman, a former gymnast and trainer. He focused on short, high-intensity workouts that had functional elements. Instead of bicep curls, CrossFit athletes would do pull-ups. In place of leg presses, they would do squats.</p>
<p> Aided by the explosion of the Internet in early 2001, the company became a worldwide brand with the launch of their website, CrossFit.com. Glassman posted the workouts for free each day, and the community blossomed.</p>
<p> As his website and brand become successful, Glassman began offering gyms the chance to affiliate-that is, adopt the CrossFit name and method in their training. A handful of affiliates popped up around the CrossFit home in Santa Cruz, CA soon after. Now, there are over 2000.</p>
<p> &#8220;It&#8217;s the community feeling and the caring,&#8221; says Albany CrossFit and CrossFit Clifton Park owner Jason Ackerman. &#8220;We treat everyone who walks through the door like an athlete, regardless of their current fitness level, and our members are great about encouraging each other.&#8221;</p>
<p> The growth of affiliates has directly influenced the growth of CrossFit, and their place on the world stage. At most affiliates, every workout is coached, and workouts are scaled to accommodate different ability levels. Unlike the typical gym, outfitted with machines, saunas, and juice bars, CrossFit affiliates adopt a Spartan approach. The smaller gyms, usually housed in warehouse or garage space, feature kettlebells, pull-up bars, and jump ropes.</p>
<p> As the community has grown, they have been highly vocal of what to do next. Using the CrossFit.com comments section-which typically gets over 500 comments-they have suggested new ideas. Through this sounding board, Glassman found the demand for CrossFit certification, affiliation, and competitions.</p>
<p> While the workouts are always highly competitive events, it wasn&#8217;t until 2007 that CrossFit started an official event. Dubbed the CrossFit Games, it began on a dusty ranch in northern California. About 150 athletes attended and competed over a two-day span. By the end, the winners were adorned with the title &#8220;Fittest on Earth.&#8221;</p>
<p> Today, the CrossFit Games are held in the Home Depot Center outside of Los Angeles. It has been broadcast on ESPN, and now &#8212; with the help of a partnership from Reebok &#8212; it is spreading even more rapidly.</p>
<p> Many affiliates have seen the success of the national competition and have replicated it. Albany CrossFit is poised to host over 200 athletes at their &#8220;Tristate Throwdown.&#8221; The reward: Over $2,500 in cash and prizes.</p>
<p> &#8220;We&#8217;ve certainly come a long way since I got a $35 foam roller for winning my division in a regional competition like this one in 2009,&#8221; said Daniel Freedman, former Editor-in-Chief of the CrossFit Journal. </p>
<p> Jason Ackerman loves the spirit of the competition, but also recognizes the need to just have fun. &#8220;Competitions like this are great, and prizes are a nice addition. But we made sure to include a Recreation Division for people who still have holes in their game.&#8221; Explaining the necessity of scaling and inclusion, he continued, &#8220;CrossFit is not only for the young and already-in-shape. Some of our best athletes are 50 plus years old or have lost over 20 pounds. CrossFit is for everyone.&#8221;</p>

<p>In the past articles I have been talking about weight loss and keeping fit. I have been telling you several things. Among them, that you must want to lose the weight for yourself. Not for your boyfriend, husband, parent or anyone else. You have to want to do it for no one else, but you! When you have been on this road several times, it is because you have been trying to overcome some common road blocks.</p>
<p>These are some of them:</p>
<p>You read about all the failure rates, about how 95 percent of the people who have lost weight, tend to gain the weight back and then some, how it just doesn&#8217;t last very long. And the reality is that yes, in a lot of cases that happens, but, approximately twenty-five percent of those who lose the weight, keep it off for at least three years or more. There had to be a reason for that and a common thread.</p>
<p>Let me tell you about those common threads:</p>
<p>They had faith in themselves. They believed they could lose the weight and although they might have been on this road several times before, they just did not give up. After a while of repeating the yoyo pattern, they got tired of it and at that point decided to take control of their situation.</p>
<p>The majority of those who were able to keep their weight off, exercised regularly without becoming fanatics about it. They simple found a way to include the exercise that worked for them; like walking, which is one of the most recommended, into their daily routine, whatever that might be.</p>
<p>They think in a positive way, and feed their brains positive thoughts even when they overindulge. Rather than punishing themselves by eating more and more, they forgive themselves and tell themselves..I overdid it that time, but I&#8217;ll be extra careful the rest of the day. </p>
<p>Another difficulty is getting the proper support from those around you. They don&#8217;t understand what you are trying to do, and therefore, constantly ask you to..&#8221;try this&#8221;, or &#8220;a little taste is not going to kill you&#8221;, and so forth, you know the pattern. You have to stay strong, make them understand that losing the weight is important to you and ask for their support. </p>
<p>This one is what I consider at the top of the list. We must be willing to learn new ways of eating. We must learn to eat low fat foods as a way of life. We must learn to enjoy fruits, vegetables and grains. Our ancestors did not know of fats, fried foods or processed anything. They had a diet of grains, fruits, legumes and vegetables. The people in countries that maintain this habit, you have read about them, live into their hundreds and in pretty good health, especially mental health. </p>
<p>As I said at the beginning, you lose the weight for yourself not for anyone else. They enjoy life. A number of those who are successful today, used to take care of others and neglected themselves, food being their only satisfaction and companion. They have overcome that, and although they still take care of others they have learned to take care of themselves also.</p>
