Everyone have a account in twitter and most of them updating their status in real time, and you think you’re not able to see their tweet by visiting their twitter profile or visiting the twitter website when you’re away where no Internet connection is available. So, today I will show you how we can receive twitter status updates in sms for free by using Google sms channel.

I think Google sms channel is not available in all country, if it is available in your country then, you’re possible to receive free twitter status updates from Google sms channel. To start receiving status updates in sms just what we need to do is creating an a sms channel in Google sms channel and in settings providing the desired rss feed url and subscribe to that sms channel.

After subscribing to that sms channel, you will start getting sms from Google sms channel whenever that person start updating their twitter profile.

Steps for getting tweets in sms for free:

Visit the desired Twitter profile which you would like to get the tweets in sms for free.
Copy the "RSS feed of username's tweets" link for example mine @pkarunkumar link is http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/84543098.rss

Our first step finish here and next is by creating Google sms channel account.
Visit Google sms channel and Sign in using your Gmail id and after successful login you will see "Try Now" in right side click on that.

A new page will open where we are able to create new sms channel, fill with appropriate details and in Source: option you need to select the RSS/Atom feed:within the box fill the rss url which we have taken in the twitter website (in my case http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/84543098.rss) and click create channel button.

Put desired rss feed url in Rss/Atom feed

And now onwards you will start receiving twitter updates in sms for free by using Google sms channel.

Note: It takes some time to get sms after tweet is posted.
