LG says to expect it to fall somewhere in the area of $10,000 when its available later on this year.

What was I thinking? Seeing a film like this shows you how much your tastes in filmmaking and comedy evolve over the years. I am 100 percent utterly ashamed that I ever laughed at this film when I first saw it nearly 10 years ago. Having not seen the film since I was excited to watch it again. Boy, I really wished I hadn’t.

“Bringing Down The House” is perhaps one of the most vulgar comedies of the last decade. I can see a lot of people out there taking offense to almost to the whole film. I am not blaming the actors nor the director. The writers on this film must have been smoking something to come up with such a contrived pile of….

If anything, it is the actors that save this film, with the exception of Betty Davis. Queen Latifah thankfully

“Father Of The Bride” is a staple in the Steve Martin’s repertoire. Surprisingly though, it is not really the funniest of films. Nor is its sequel. At times it seems as though Martin is trying to hard to push comic relief into lifeless scenes. Nevertheless, the films have a spirit that puts them at the top of the list, well almost.

Neither of the “Bride” films is a repetitive watch. I was thrilled to see them, but then again I haven’t watched them since their initial release in the early 90s. I have satisfied my craving and now the films will likely sit on the shelf collecting dust. But that is probably the case with more than 90 percent of our collections, right?

The first film introduces us to he Banks family. George doesn’t deal with the fact that his little girl has grown

Recently, I was very impressed by the Musical Fidelity V-DAC II (home-theater-preamplifiers/av-preamps/musical-fidelity-v-dac-ii-review.html), and have been eager to hear more products from the venerable British company. The V-DAC II is part of the V Series of entry-level mini components, which is just the first layer of the Musical Fidelity (http://www.musicalfidelity.com/) product line, which includes, in ascending order, the M1, M3, M6, and AMS products. At the very top is the must be seen to be believed Titan power amplifier. John Quick -- of Tempo High Fidelity (http://www.tempohighfidelity.com/), the hard working importer of Musical Fidelity products -- sent me the M1 CLiC digital and analog "Universal Music Controller” for review. The analog inputs of the M1 CLiC do not get digitized, by the way. I also received their brand new M1 PWR power amplifier. The M1 CLiC is a

Thinking about it, it’s amazing The Avengers even exists. In 2008, the world was gearing up to have its collective mind blown by Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Nolan had taken Batman, and by extension the very idea of comic book movies, into a serious dramatic arena. What people didn’t expect is that Marvel Comics intended to go in an entirely different direction. At the end of the first Iron Man, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr. is now his defining role) stumbles home from the climactic fight to encounter a mysterious man with an eye-patch. Introducing himself as Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., this man, impressively played by Samuel L. Jackson, then drops the words “Avengers Initiative.” And cut to black.Any comic fan will remember seeing that scene for the first time. It was just a small, thirty-second clip after the end credits, but that thirty seconds changed

I’ve enjoyed Paradigm (http://www.paradigm.com/) products for a number of years now. The Canadian loudspeaker company is well known for producing a wide variety of products across most price points. They make everything from 5.1 mini systems, like the Millenia System (home-theater-loudspeakers/bookshelf-monitor-loudspeakers/paradigm-milleniaone-5.0-system-and-se-subwoofer-2.html) to mid priced home theater speakers in the Monitor Series (home-theater-loudspeakers/speaker-systems/paradigm-monitor-9-v.6-loudspeaker.html), and reference level, no compromise two channel floor standers. Paradigm recently moved into one category for which they were not previously known: headphones. Paradigm's SHIFT series has a host of newly designed products, including powered monitors (review forthcoming), headphones, and three different earbuds. I received for review a set of the SHIFT E3m earbuds. The E3m is the top of the line among three separate models, all priced according to bass performance.
“Shame” will likely fall under one of two categories for viewers. Either it will be simply a porn film, or it will hold deeper meaning and artistry. I would hope that audiences choose the latter. “Shame” is after all about our shame. It is not an easy film to watch for several reasons, but it does offer a robust look into sex addiction.

Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender team up for the second time to deliver an emotionally charged look at one man’s struggle with sex addiction and the pain and agony that torments him. The film is beautifully rendered in terms of writing and shot composition. The characters all complement the story and one another. The shots are framed to fit the mood of each segment.

Marantz SA-15S2B Limited Edition SACD Player Review

Last month I reviewed a terrific preamp (home-theater-preamplifiers/stereo-preamps/belles-soloist-3-preamplifier.html) from a small company, and I mentioned that great products can come from small artisans that build per order. I also mentioned that large, multinational companies can also produce great products, with the power of economies of scale and resources that are very difficult to compete with. Marantz is clearly one of those companies. I have yet to evaluate a recent Marantz product that was not built beautifully, and did not offer excellent value. Everything I have heard off their assembly line offered true high-end sound. The most recent review I did was of the $599 PM6004 Integrated Amplifier (home-theater-power-amplifiers/integrated-amplifiers/marantz-pm6004-integrated-amplifier.html).Up for review here is a product I frankly did not except to review, the Marantz SA-152SB Limited Edition SACD player. SACD is a medium whose health is either in great decline, or going strong depending on

Darkest Hour, The (3D/2D) (2011)

“The Darkest Hour” is a clear example of a film that could have been better than it turned out to be. In short, it had potential that was squandered.

The film turns out to be nothing more than an alien invasion film that never really leads anywhere substantial. Two business school friends show up in Moscow to make a pitch. When things turn ugly, they hit a local nightclub, where apparently they were notified by some app that two American girls were stuck there.

It doesn’t take long for the alien invasion to start. We never get to see what happens to rest of the world, but given what happens to Moscow we can safely assume that there are probably no more than a 1,000 human beings on the planet after just a few days of alien attacks.

The aliens are

When Samsung brought its 55 inch Super OLED set to CES this year, they played coy with the details. The essential specs were lacking, but we did find out that it was pretty, thin and offered up a few different types of control, thanks to Smart Hub integration and a built-in camera.
