New Site Update

This will become a more regular thing until the site is stablised and working a LOT more smoothly.

The index page has been changed to lead you to the translations of the site. This is quite useful if you prefer reading in another language and it takes less time and hassle to load than to use something like, for example, Google Translate, which does boost site performance and moral of the person reading the site.

The downside to this is that I can't read or write in any language other than English (note that this is the TRUE version of English, not what the yanks (Americans) call English,) which is a bummer because the only other language that I am POORLY able to speak in is Japanese which unfortunately I can't read or write it. The translations will be made by the Google Translator engine. If you have any problems with what it spits out and is up on my site, please send me an email (please send it in English if you can) with the expression/s (words, phrases, etc.) and their correct way of putting it. If I can't understand what you mean, I may send you what the message is in English (or you can read the English side of the site).

There has been a start on the Japanese language side of the site. Although it STILL needs the images copied to it's section of the database, it is up but it's only the home page of that side of the new site.

The main splash image in the header has translated these "A Vagabond's Domain" and "Flowing to a better Tomorrow..." Hopefully Google has translated these properly.

Anyway, I'm at my lesson in my traineeship and I need to start paying attention so I'm not as confused at what is being thrown around.... verbally of course.....

The new site is taking a while to stablise and will be up as soon as I can. I've already gotten some nice reviews off a couple of my mates who have been checking out the progress of it every now and then. The problem that I'm having at the moment is that I need to change the links because I moved the files in the database around and screwde my self up and the translated versions need to be made.

Also, I need to make all the pages with my warez on it from this site (even some of the deleted ones) on that site.

Because I can't use ftp to upload the files (my network admin says it's too insecure and risky to use... which is fine... you can all thank my stepdad for this...). Also, to note that next wednesday I'm moving house and I'll have hardly any chance to work on the site because I do it all online and where I'm moving to I can't use the net at my will like I can here.

The link will be posted once I get these major tasks done... I promise.

Yes, it's finally time. A Vagabond's Domain is living up to it's name and is now in tha middle of moving to the servers of freeweb7.com.

I've already set up a few pages which still need a lot of work and have set up a forum with the MyBB team.

It's taking ages to set up becase I can't use FTP because it's unsafe, so I gotta upload files up to sets of 3.

Also, I have complete control of the content in both the site and the forum board.

The link will be posted at a later date when it's more stable and closer to being worthy of attention...

Yes, believe it or not, I'm planning to move A Vagabond's Domain to somewhere where I can customise everything I want, including giving each 'post' its own page...

I've already almost finished the first alpha design of the site using the main page/index page as the base template of such... The look will be different and this site (on Blogger) will be active until I state otherwise (which will unlikely happen).

This will, funnily enough, stay true to the name of the site and myself. The word 'Vagabond' means wanderer, one who lays his head calls home, etc. A good example would be the people who live in the Australian bush(which is Outback there), never really staying in one place for too long before they move to seek a better place to continue their journey. I too, am an Australian and this was the first thing that popped into my head for examples. Anyway...

So keep an eye/ear out for more news on updating and moving A Vagabond's Domain to a better place.

Windows Live Messenger v8.5 (beta)

An internal build of Windows Live Messenger 8.5 was leaked by Messenger Addictos, a site dedicated to Windows Live Messenger and related products.

The leaked build is only available in Spanish at the moment, but if you managed to download it somewhere, you can copy the old language file (\"msglang.dll\") of Windows Live Messenger 8.1.0178 over the new one (\"msglang.8.5.1235.0517.dll\"). Note that the installation directory has also been changed to \"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Live\\Messenger\\\" making the transition from MSN Messenger to Windows Live Messenger complete.

The new build includes a completely new installer system (though it appears it might need some tweaking). Messenger itself also got a complete overhaul, featuring a new UI that combines the best of Windows Live and Vista. The new build also includes several minor new features, some of which are still unknown. Unfortunately support for Plug-Ins (or \"Add-Ins\") has been dropped.

News about Windows Media Centre

It may be a sad state but it makes sense. Windows XP Media Centre has been downstated which means that it's no longer availiabe sue to a shitload of problems and errors with the version of MS OS.

Just too many complaints about it and problems with the coding or whatever have finally taken effect in Microsoft's decision, to remove Media Centre from the shelves indefinately.

If you are looking for keygens and serial numbers, don't bother as it won't register with Microsoft and you'll be busted as it's no longer being sold. If it's a download from a site, don't bother because I too have had many problems with the basic functions of the OS and I've got a dual core 2.65Ghz Pentium D which still needs my attention to repair it.

So in essence, Microsoft's Windows XP Media Centre, don't use it anymore as it's not worth it apparently, and I know htis from personal experience.

You can just download all the extra functions to XP SP2 Pro off the Microfost site (SP3 is just a repack of SP2 and not worth it) and it'll work perfectly fine.

I HATE pickles. How can one man have a cheeseburger when there's friggin' pickles all over it? What the hell? I hate those little green, weird looking, things which are kinda studded on tha outside which makes me think it may become a female's best friend...

While we're on about greens today, spinach. Damn you Popeye!!! You can take your spinach and shove it up your arse, maybe then your arse will explode from the muscle 'growth' you apparently get after eating these leaves....

You know what else is green and leafy? Marijuana. Pot. Weed. You know the stuff. This magical leaf doesn't put you to sleep right away. Oh no.... instead you've gotta 'overdose' on the stuff before you can rest in peace for once in your life. And where the hell did the term 'getting high' come from? Did a French guy in America watching some yank smoke the stuff say "Haw haw haw... you stupid American pig think you so high and mighty eh? You only make yourself look stupider..." Or something similar? Honesty the French have a way with words at some times...

Here's a theory as to how we started paying, that's right spending our vaulable money which we almost died for several times to get, for bottled water.

*NOTE - This theory comes from a comedian, I can't remember exactly which one but it's either Brian Regan, Pablo Francisco or Dave Cook, I'm sure it was Dave Cook that said something like this. The gag has been altered due to plagerism of verbal text and my imagination has decided to kick in about now again.*

One day in the country of France, There was a country-wide meeting about the next scam the Americans would be suckered into yet again. The 5 highest ranking French people and the lowest ranking French people were sitting in a hot spring smoking their cigarettes.

One of the lowest people was looking at the water and said to the others who were scheming, "Hey, hey. I think that the Americans are so dumb and stupid that we could sell them water... in a bottle." And sure enough, 5 minutes later after suggesting the idea to the President of the so called "Greatest Nation" in the world, there were bottles of water with different brands and an ingredients section on the label all over the 50 odd states.

Why woul I want to buy a bottle of this stuff when i can pay up to a hundred bucks on a water purifyer and drink all the water I want? There's a thing called the Ocean. Also, i can just drink the stuff out of a lake when I'm dying of thirst trying to find my way back to civilisation after a long, death-ridden trek through a rainforest. There's also rain. You can set buckets out while a massive downpour of rain and put it in you own bottles and fridge it for later use. There's just so many FREE options to have water, why pay for the stuff? The government just wants to line their pockets with gold and platnium so that they will be 'worth' more when in fact they r just plain human beings who are stupid.

2. I'm an Aethiest. This means that I do NOT have any beliefs whatsoever. I am NOT a nature person, i am NOT a hippy, I am NOT an idiot NOR a nerd, I'm an average person who's put up a site and I eat pasta.

HJ Split Pro - Join or split you archived files

This is a little program that allows you to join or split archived files such as .zip, .rar, .iso, .tar, etc.

I'm not too sure if this is compatible with Apple OS or Linux OS systems but it works with the Windows OS stuff...

PCLinux - Shits all over Vista

PC Linux is a brilliant OS which introduces a user friendly interface into the world of Linux once again.

Honestly, I was impressed by the 2 - 5 features I saw when my mate used this. I would definately reccommend this piece of legend to all Linux users who want to have something that takes on Windows Vista and wins handily. Also, users of computers would enjoy this OS.

I've downloaded this myself but I haven't got the right stuff for it yet to install on one of my many computers... Here's a brief run-down of what I've seen so far.

- Windows look-a-like interface which keeps the same kind of theme which was used in Mandrake Linux 10.0

- Window transparency/opacity sliders

- Window flexibility

- Linux has been known mainly for it's multiple desktop feature/ability. Now it's been combined with similar programming to that of Yodm3d to bring you not 1 or 2, but SIX desktops which can be accessed by pressing some buttons and 'rotating' your desktop. I think the mounse can be used to rotate it as well... not too sure yet.

- Windows can be 1/2 in one desktop to another - a gag me mate did for no apparent reason

- Drag-and-drop interface between desktops

Remote accessibility - me mate left his computer with PC Linux on it running at home and managed to access it from the school's library computers, meaning that he was able to use his own PC from school... though there were some restrictions on the Internet access if I understood what he was babling about, meaning that he had to use the library's internet access system instead of his own, it's a nice feature to have if you forget something from home...

Flock - Better than Firefox

Another web browser has caught my eye due to a mate of mine who raves on about it. Since I couldn't stand why he was going on and on about something which I had no clue to, I decided to check out this web browser and found that it's actually quite good.

This lil beast's home page (after installing) is a "portal" or a "My Page" where you can manage your favourites and what not from there easily. I haven't used it much but I will eventually check it out after I do the HSC... or maybe I won't do the HSC but either way I'll check it out.

- Personalised home page (a.k.a. portal)
- MySpace, Bebo, YouTube, Blogger are already defaulted into the media bar-section of the home page
- It's a web browser based off Firefox and Safari - Originally designed for Macs
- Other features I've yet to discover

Okay, if you're a Blogger user and hate the navbar that always appears at the top of your page, never fear! there is a cure!

There is a website which enabled me to get rid of it and to be honest, the navbar was annoying. I reckon that Blogger should make the option to turn the navbar off or at least make it an option in the Page Elements section of the Layout stuff.

If you're part of the Blogger team or someway connected, I didn't know that this kind of post wasn't allowed so please forgive me if this is the case.

As you will become aware that I am in fact in year 12 and the Trial HSC exams are starting next week. Although I hate studying, I'm failing everything at the moment. As you may have noticed already, the site's template is in the process of being updated. The new look is better than the crappy P.O.S. that I stated out with, yet it still isn't perfect.

I've got to make a few more adjustments as my CSS knowledge hasn't really changed at all and I got the site looking pretty good with Nvu but Blogger won't accept it's code because there's XML stuff which isn't
passing for some reason, could just be the Blogger engine.

Remember, post any new ideas in either a comment or the shoutbox below.
