Vera Bradley All In One Crossbody: A Closer Look

We were all treated to sneak preview of the new All In One Crossbody coming for fall this past weekend. When you purchased one at $54, you could purchase a 2nd one for 50% off!! That's a great deal and I hope you all got to take advantage of it. I only purchased one for myself, but I'm still so excited about it. I'm posting these pics for you guys to get a better understanding of how this is different from the other wristlets currently available. (These are still online, but there are only a few colors that aren't sold out.)

Your crossbody strap and wristlet strap are removable so you can use whatever one fits you best. I like that you can choose which side to put the wrist strap on since the metal rings are on both sides.

The front flap opens to cell phone pocket which is secured with a magnet.

My iPhone 5 in a speck case did fit, but it was very tight and I almost couldn't get the magnet to close. If you have an Otterbox, I don't think this is the wristlet for you.

The first zipper compartment reveals several credit card slots. I love this because with the All in One Wristlet and Smart Phone wristlet you only get 3 slots. I need a little extra space!!

You also get the larger cash pocket where you don't have to fold your bills. Thumbs up Vera!!

The 2nd zipper compartment has another little zipper pocket for change or whatever else you can fit and 2 slots for anything and everything. I think this will be great for lip gloss and gum during a night out!!

I haven't been using this bag long enough to form a true opinion but from what I can tell I think the crossbody strap is a little too short. I didn't purchase this with the idea of using it crossbody in mind anyways, so I'm ok with that.

It was so fun seeing these in the new colors, I can not wait until July 9!!

Vera Bradley Winter 2013 In Store Preview

Vera lovers are always waiting for the day when we can get a sneak peek at new upcoming patterns. Today was that day ladies!! My store's shipment was a little late today, so nothing was set up like usual, but I was able to snap a few pics for you guys. (This also puts that little bit I found in the source book about the winter colors being what we thought was fall. These are the winter colors, perhaps that was a misprint?)

When I first saw a picture of this pattern online, I thought the background was purple, but it's actually blue. It's very pretty, and tons of orange in this one.

I fell in love with this pattern the moment I saw it. IT IS GORGEOUS!!

I love this pattern also, but the pink won me over. I can definitely see myself grabbing this when it comes out. Someone in the store compared it to Baroque, and I can totally see that.

I am very surprised they are releasing practically the same pattern but 2 different versions in the same release. You would think they would split those up, but they're both beautiful so I don't think anyone will mind.

So I got an email from a reader today, and there was some very confusing and interesting information in it. This small paragraph will start a cyber storm, lol. You read it, and tell me what you think it means.

So are what we thought was the 2nd batch of Fall colors really going to be Winter 2013? Are there going to be multiple releases for Winter this year? What is going on?? I get from this paragraph that Olivia Pink, Bittersweet and La Neon Rose will be Winter 2013. What about you guys?

Looks like the canvas Boxy Tote is coming back in the signature colors. I've heard La Neon Rose will be a limited release which is a shame because I absolutely love it.

Retirement Talk: Sale Starts May 23

So when I was shopping at my favorite Vera Bradley store the other day, I asked what would be included in their famous Summer sale coming up. This is everything they told me, so there's no way this information could be wrong, unless Vera makes a last minute decision, which they are known to do, example Doodle Daisy's retirement.

Colors Being Retired

This color barely made it a year. I think they were hoping for Very Berry Paisley success, but this one just didn't fit the bill.

Portobello Road

I actually own a few things in this color, but with the speed they're retiring things now, it's no surprise this one is hitting the road.

Lime's Up

I love this pattern, so I'm going to take full advantage of this sale and stock up for myself and Christmas gifts.

Summer Cottage

Baroque

Just mentioning this color being retired starts a fight no matter where I go, lol. It is very beloved, but it's time for new and exciting things. There's speculation that this retirement could be limited, since La Neon Rose will be a limited release.

Lunch Break

There's always a lunch bag that's retired right before back to school time. I've always wanted this style, I just can't justify this purchase, the coolers are much more useful.

Much like the hipsters, there are so many wristlets Vera offers right now, so I guess they decided they needed to retire the least successful one.

Thanks for everyone updating me, I'm sorry I was so defensive, but I wanted to be sure to have the correct information, and my stores were telling me what they knew, which was Baroque was being retired. Vera Bradley Fall 2013: Possible New Styles?

This is a restyle and there are a few obvious changes, but I still do not know anyone that owns this and I've seen one person buy it in the store.

I love this!! I love my Ditty Bag, but I sometimes find it a bit too small, so this is awesome. I don't think it's lined, but I like these for my shoes when traveling because I don't like my shoes touching the insides of my suitcases.

This bag has been out in the Classic Black, but I'm glad they decided to make it in their signature colors. The one thing I've noticed is all of the baby bags are only being made in Tutti Frutti and Lilli Bell right now. I really hope they change their minds about this because if I was having a boy, neither of these colors would work. Sun Valley and Marina Paisley would be great boy colors, they're both blue based and are void of flowers.

When I saw this, I knew I had to have it. It will be a perfect match with my Fringe Scarf I plan to get at the later release.

My wish list was also going to inclue a Cosmetic Trio in Tutti Frutti, but they are not online in the new colors. I hope this is just an oversight, because I will be very heartbroken if the Cosmetic Trio is being retired. I'll make a seperate post for retirement talk.

Vera Bradley Fall 2013 Preview

So I know I've been absent lately from the blog world, and I sincerely apologize. Things have been a little crazy lately and I hope I can make it up to you with these awesome pictures of the upcoming Vera Bradley Fall 2013 patterns. Like last year, there will be 6 new colors, but the release dates are still unknown. Hope you enjoy!! My store was a little limited on styles this time around, but I've heard there were some problems with stores getting these preview items on time. This time around they had the new 6 colors in the Glenna, zip ID, Smartphone Wristlet, the Vera tote, Euro Wallet, Turn Lock Wallet, Large Duffel, Grand Traveler, Hipster, and the medium and large cosmetics.

This pattern reminds me of Carnaby and Buttercup, there's also a little houndstooth in the border.

Cocoa Moss

Brown, black, gray and green reminds me a little of Baroque. Perhaps that was the inspiration?

I think this is becoming my favorite print of the Fall 2013 collection. I love all of the colors, and there are plenty of paisleys.

La Neon Rose

I instantly liked this pattern when I saw it. I'm a big fan of neon green, and this is so different than most Vera prints, in my opinion.

I absolutely almost hate this pattern. VeraObsessed loves it, so I'm going to try to be nice because I dislike haters, lol, but something about this pattern reminds me of the knock-offs you see around sometimes. (Sorry to anyone who likes this one.)

Olivia Pink

(Did anyone else notice all of the girl names given to patterns this season?) The pink actually bounces off of the army green background nicely, and the flowers remind me a few older retired Vera prints.

Reader Review Friday: Kisslock Manicure Set

It is Molly again, and I'm back for another guest review! This review
features the Kisslock Manicure Set in Provencal. These retail for
$25, and have been released in certain colors. It is a great little
set; however, the inside of it has gotten a bit scratched up due to
the metallic objects on the inside. Maybe I'm just too picky, but it
is something that I noticed and wanted people to be aware of. Sorry
if the image quality isn't stellar. Getting pictures of this small
item can be difficult :>.

Here is a picture of the set open. The device opens by a kiss-lock
mechanism, which is quick and convenient. There are 5 items on the
inside (from left to right: small scissors, clippers, nail file,
cuticle pusher, and tweezers) held by some sort of elastic material.
I love how the orange pops out on the inside of the Provencal pattern!

Here is a picture of the small scissors. I haven't used these yet,
but you could utilize them for cutting off hang nails, trimming nails,
or cuticles.

Please be careful with putting the components back into the set! The
edge of the scissors cut a little bit into the fabric.

These are the clippers.

The clippers are open here. As you can see, there is not a separate
nail file on the inside.

The nail file...my favorite part of the set! I use the tapered edge
to get dirt out of my fingernails.

This is the cuticle pusher, which I think is a bit awkward to use.
However, it is there if you need it.

The tweezers are really nice! Good quality and usage.

Kiss lock mechanism.

Yes, they are manufactured from stainless steel, how exciting!

Overall, I have really been enjoying this set. If things like some
tears in the fabric may bother you due to the metallic pieces ripping
the fabric a bit, you may want to mull this over. However, for me, it
is worth it in the end to have a convenient little kit that can easily
be stored inside a purse.

I was recently introduced to Etsy through a friend and I am in love!! It's a shopping site for unique and handmade things, anything from jewelry to clothes. I came across these adorable necklaces with Vera Bradley prints inside, and I had to have one!! I have a few Vera Bradley bangles, and I thought these would be so perfect with the bangles.

You have your choice of gold or silver, and the prints available are Go Wild,

and Provencal.

I decided to go with Go Wild in gold because later on this year Vera will release more bangles and Go Wild just happens to be gold, I can not wait to wear these together soon!!

Such a great surprise to open the mailbox and find a tiny package inside!!

Vera Bradley Two Way Tote Review

Since I haven't reviewed anything in quite some time, I decided to pick one of my new favorite bags, the Two Way Tote. I love my cross body bags, and sometimes you just need a little extra space, so Vera decided to release a mash up. Not only can you fit everything you would carry in a tote, you can drape it across your body when you need both hands!!

This bag includes an adjustable strap and handles.

Let's just talk about the pattern for a minute, because when I was first introduced to this color I was not crazy about it. But in person, there are so many colors embedded into this beautiful print. There is a little of blue, purple, pink and orange on a dark brown background.

I think this is adorable!!

When I first purchased this bag, I thought there was no way I would ever use these handles. I have to say, I use them just as much as I use the adjustable strap. It is so convenient to just grab these handy handles when getting out of the car, or picking up your purse to head out. Sometimes I just use these handles to carry the bag for short outings.

The strap can be used across your body, or on your shoulder. The strap clips on to each side, and can be taken off completely if you just want to carry the bag with your hands.

While I would prefer a zipper, this magnet totally works. Nothing comes out and the magnet is extremely secure, there's no way a hand or anything could fit inside if you were out and about.

Jazzy Blooms Framed "Art"

You already know I am in love with the limited edition Jazzy Blooms shopping bag, so much in love that I decided I wanted to do create something with this bag that I could admire for many days to come. I found a great picture on Instagram and decided to make my own version so here you go!!

I framed it. The hardest part was cutting it down to the right size. You can find an inexpensive frame almost anywhere, I found mine at Target.

Now I can enjoy these beautiful blooms on my wall everyday!!

Yayy!! I was so excited when I saw the sales lady load up my new purchases in this beautiful shopping bag. When I've gotten a special bag in the past, it was always for larger purchases, like duffels or totes. I think it's a great idea to include the smaller bags this time around. I may be a nerd, but I'm totally keeping this bag. I might grab another one for a crafty project, but I want one just to keep, lol.

Vera Bradley Convertible Crossbody Review

I am completely in LOVE with the Convertible Crossbody in Plum Crazy. The versatile shape/size , plethora of storage, and slim silhouette are features that blew me away.

The dimesions are 13 ½" x 15" x 3 ¼" with 5" handle drop and 52" removable, adjustable strap. It's large enough to hold papers, folders, magazines, etc. comfortably. There are slip pockets and 2 pen/pencil holders (super handy) on one side and a zip pocket on the other. The top part of the bag folds down on both sides, rather than a flap on one side, when converted to a crossbody or over the shoulder.

There are two very different styles that you can get of out of this one bag. The first is the north/south handheld style. The other being the east/west crossbody or shoulder bag style. I've seen many bags with the fold over function and it doesn't impress me much because they either don't look polished or too much like an envelope. Clearly, not the case with the convertible crossbody. From the pictures, you can see the bag holds its lines and shape regardless of what form it's in. I think it's because the folded sides are secured down with magnets, which also function as the closure to the main compartment. Other bags I've seen have the sides fold over to only one side, closing the bag like an envelope, Additionally, the silhoutte of the bag stays slim even with many items in it. I'm a short person so it's important to have a bag that doesn't overpower me, still carries a lot, and doesn't look chunky when stuffed.

This is definitely my new daily bag and go-to bag for errands and everything else for that matter!

It seemed like the Spring launch would never get here, but the new patterns are finally in bloom and are so GORGEOUS!!

Yesterday we talked all about the new colors and styles arriving January 9, but anytime something new comes out it means we have to say goodbye to a few things we love, and some of those goodbyes are heartbreaking. I have to admit while doing some research for this post, my mouth fell open, more than once!!

Get your tissues ready because it looks like these patterns are about to start their farewell tour.

A few people have asked how I know this information and the answer is, I don't know for sure, but none of the new styles are being made in these 3 colors. That's usually a good indicator that a color is about to hit the road.

The following styles are not being made in any of the new spring colors, so this leads me to believe they will also be hitting the Vera retirement home. Get ready for the jaw droppers!! (But remember how they punk'd us with the Campus Tote? Maybe sometimes they just can't make up their minds.)

While I am fond of this bag, I was completely taken aback by this retirement. You may remember from my review that this bag is not every day functional. Maybe Vera is going to add a few improvements and re-release this baby in an upcoming season. (Fingers crossed)

We knew these were anniversary items, so again, no surpise here. To be honest the leather on these bags doesn't even seem real to me, it feels so plasticky. Any opinions?

Go Round Tote

MY MOUTH FELL OPEN, and stayed there. I have always wanted this bag and somehow always wind up leaving without it. I know several ladies that love this bag, and I always see girls carrying it around campus. I really hope this is a redesign, but hey, look at the bright side, we can grab it on sale!!

A store associate told me that they hardly ever sell these.

Laptop Travel Tote

I was shocked by this one also. I always see people buying this whenever I'm shopping at Vera, and I even saw a lady right before Christmas leave the store with 3. Maybe that new large laptop tote is taking its place.

I have never seen anyone buy this or carry it. I haven't seen anyone with the large one either, so I'm not sure why they're keeping that one around either.

I am so sad about this one because I was so looking forward to getting a Plum Crazy or Jazzy Blooms case.

I really do not understand why they aren't making these. They are so popular they sometimes sell out of them.

WHAT?! I love my ebook cover, but I know they've had a lot of complaints that the magnet was just in the wrapper, so perhaps they are adding some type of closure.

Everyone kept speculating on Instagram when the new colors and styles would be available on VeraBradley.com for us to finally see everything, and today was that day. What a way to bring in 2013, right? Now that I get to see everything, I've added so many new things to my shopping list. This batch of colors is outstanding. I like each and every single one, this never happens!!

New Colors

Midnight Blues

This was my least favorite of the bunch, but it has really grown on me in the past few months. I could see myself owning an accessory or something in this pattern.

ANIMAL PRINT!! Love it!!

Jazzy Blooms

This is my favorite from this release, it was a tough choice, but looking over my shopping list, this is the clear winner. Something about the way the colors pop off that gray background, I just love it!! (Even though I already own something in this, I will be adding several items to my collection.)

Plum Crazy

This is probably going to be the best seller out of the bunch. Everyone I know is already crazy about this pattern, and it's not even out yet. I do love purple, so be looking for this beauty in my collection as well.

It seems the number of hipsters available now make it a little confusing for the average consumer. While this one does offer something different, I think you need to stick with the one that started it all, but that's just my opinion. This bag does not seem interesting or functional to me at all.

Large Laptop Tote

At first I thought I downloaded the wrong picture, because I've seen this bag, and it is shorter and wider than the Vera tote but this pic looks just like the Vera tote. Maybe they inserted the wrong picture? Anyways, let's move past the picture, I'm a little disappointed with this bag because first of all there is no zipper. Who wants to put their cherished laptop in a bag that you can't even zip up and keep it secure? Also, this bag only fits, "most 15 inch laptops," which means, 15% of the 15 inch laptops. My laptop fits in nothing Vera claims is made for 15 inch laptops, and what about the people with 17 inch laptops? I really think Vera needs to widen their horizons a little and include the people who prefer a large laptop. Sorry, so long, just had to vent, lol.

This is another confusing new spring item, because I heard this was the new East West replacement, but I've seen a few other pictures next to other items and this bag looks tiny. I really need to see it in person to make an educated opinion.

Vera is always coming out with different lunch bags, and this one is really cute!!

Grand Cosmetic

I MUST own this bag. Sometimes my large cosmetics bag seems too small, and I love love love the handles. I'm excited to see just how grand this bag really is.

While it does get rather toasty in the south during the summer time, this is a great little item to add to any outfit, maybe for a night out. I love scarves, and I'm totally adding this to my collection.

I really hope these fit in my drawers because they are so cute!! These are only made in Jazzy Blooms, and Midnight Blues. It's a bummer sometimes that they only make certain seasonal items in select colors, but I've heard they do this because the other colors don't come out to their standards. So in a way, it could be a positive.

Vera Bradley Summer 2013 Preview

We've all been anxiously awaiting the next in store preview and today was the lucky day. Starting today, for the next 10 days, select Vera Bradley stores will be testing the upcoming Summer 2013 patterns. We've all seen a few pics here and there, but everyone knows these bags look completely different in person. I went in with one particular pattern on my mind, and I did end up loving that color, but another one caught my attention that I never thought would interest me. So here it is, for your viewing pleasure, the Vera Bradley Summer 2013 patterns.

Vera Tote in Tutti Frutti

This was the color I had set in my mind that I was going to like the most out of all of them, and I was so right, I LOVE this color. I'm so obsessed with it now. The background is more minty green than most pictures show and those different colors just pop off the bag beautifully. To me, this print reminds me more of spring, but I love it so it doesn't matter to me when it comes out.

So excited to get 2 items in my favorite pattern for Summer 2013, I've never been crazy about the Laura, but it seems practical for everyday use, and the pattern placement on this bag was gorgeous.

I hope you all enjoy these pics, I get to keep doing this because of all the love and support you guys show this page. If you do not have a test store close to you, I would not recommend purchasing one of these off eBay. They are outrageously overpriced, and you can save your money and get multiple items during the actual release. If some of you are really interested, I can purchase items during the next preview and ship them to you at COST. Now, I'm going to step down from my soap box, lol.

A few sneaks at Vera Bradley Spring 2013!!

Thanks to our avid reader, @VeraObsessed (as she's known on Instagram), we have some new awesome pics to share with you from the upcoming Spring 2013 release!! These pics appear to be from eBay, but they give us an up close and VERY clear look at a new style and 2 new prints.

Vera Bradley Large Laptop Tote in Midnight Blues

At first glance this seems to be a Vera Tote and Miller Bag mash up, but once you look inside this bag has a personality all its own.

You may remember this pic from a previous post. This is a detailed look at this new item!! ;-)

Inside you have your padded laptop area, with a velcro tab to secure your computer. There also appears to be 3 slip pockets. My question is if these pads are removable or not.

The bag has a front slip pocket, and a toggle closure, much like the Vera tote. The width is what reminds me of the Miller Bag, or maybe even the Grand Tote.

Back zipper pocket, just like the Vera Tote. Is anyone able to make out that price? (This color is definitely starting to grow on me.)

Vera Bradley Mailbag Review

I have found the perfect bag!! When Vera released this new design earlier this fall, I was so set on getting it. After seeing it in person and reading a few reviews, I was worried the bag would be too long and bulky. I wish I would have listened to that little voice inside my head, because I could have fallen in love a long time ago. This is a great bag for every woman who loves being hands free, but needs to carry a little more than other bags will allow.

Mailbag in Very Berry Paisley

I was able to pick this beauty up on sale, another thing so exciting about this bag!!

The mailbag has a front flap, but this does not pose a problem when you need to get something out fast like a few other flaps I've used.

Under the flap you have 2 pockets, one specifically designed for a tablet/iPad, and a small pocket, which I find perfect for my keys or cell phone.

I use the larger pocket for my kindle and coin purse.

You also have a HUGE zipper compartment. This bag is like a hipster on steroids, but in a good way. You can totally load this bag down, and it never feels heavy on my shoulders.

Still plenty of room to spare. A few girls have even told me they use this bag for school!!

Another great feature of this bag is the zipper on the back.

It's not very deep, but you can throw your keys, phone, or lipgloss in here when you need it quick.

Now I'm trying to narrow down what other print I want this bag in because I love it so much!!
