Another semester of my stay at IIT Kharagpur has come to an end. I felt a strong urge to write about it and so here I am.
Well this semester has been a major period in terms of my research experience. I have completed three projects:

• Back calculation of pavement layer modulus and thickness values using GenACO
• Stereo correspondence using Genetic Algorithms
• Server-client architecture based multi-utility software (SCiMuS)

As you know, the back calculation project was the greatest achievement ever. A technical paper will soon be communicated on it. Thanks to Prof. K. Sudhakar Reddy for all the help, guidance and moral support.

This semester I undertook five courses:

1. Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures
2. Soil Mechanics
3. Design of Hydraulic Structures
4. Genetic Algorithms in Engineering and Process Modelling
5. Object Oriented Programming

Let’s hope I obtain good grades in these

I have also successfully completed the Woodstock and Forex simulations; and have successfully started Kharagpur Web and Animation Group (WAG). We are now working on the website of WebVastra, the startup of five students of Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT KGP as our first project.

All put in one, this semester has been very productive.
