Yesterday, one of my best friends called me on the phone to talk/tell me something.

and that just really made my day.

I’m telling you guys…it’s the little things.

Leaving for El Cedral, Mexico in 5 days.

Wow. I just sometimes don’t understand why I have been so blessed.

All day today I have been trying to hold back tears of gratitude.

So many people have come up to me and have just been so encouraging and wow, I don’t know, just such what I needed.

Nothing kills me more, well I shouldn’t use the word “kill”, more like, breaks my heart in a good way, then when people show that they care and love you. Even in the simplest ways. It really just breaks me in a good way.

I guess I just wanna pass that on to you; show someone that you care, or that you love them, are praying for them, are thinking of them….you know?

And it is so simple, like today, someone came up to me in church and just said, I’m praying for you. Or later on, someone passed me this piece of torn paper and had some encouraging words on it for me.

Really, the little things are what count the most sometimes.

So leave a little note, tell someone you care, just hug someone, tell them their smile is beautiful or that they are so strong (maybe that’s weird…I don’t know!), just something.

People don’t know enough how precious and loved they really are and MAN…it can do a world of difference for them when they are told! Like it did to me today!

So…I’ve never liked N’sync, nor Justin Timberlake’s voice….

But…..THIS…..this is something else.

Pretty sure I’ve listened to it everyday for a while now.

5. pay for my college (eek!)

6. figure out El Cedral stuff

Sometime, during the beginning of the new year, I asked God what He wanted me to pursue for this up-coming year, what He wanted me to strive for, what He wanted me to do…you know, questions of that sort.

And these two words came to my heart and were everywhere I looked when I opened my Biblia:

“Righteousness” and “Justice”

And since then, those two words have followed me around everywhere I go, or look, or see, or think, or hear.

I don’t know what those words mean to me, or even really what they stand for.

I mean, I know their definition, but what does it mean now, in this context, in this time of life, you know?

All I know is that God gave me those words and apparently it means something.

So I’m just going to dig deeper and see.

ps. I hope that what I said above doesn’t come off as sounding like I am this really religious lady who chats with God all the time and regularly hears from Him. Okay…I am just a silly, naïve, broken girl, who likes to think out loud much too often.

My pastor said this today, and quite frankly, I completely agree:

1. of course I had to go and cut my bangs and make myself look like a ragamuffin freak.

2. of course I had to forget to put deodorant on and then sweat up a storm playing for The Call last night.

3. of course I would do a Korean bow to the lady in the Chinese restaurant (where I my friends and I ate at yesterday) forgetting that I am not in karate anymore.

4. of course I would forget how to play an Eb chord on the guitar last night and of course the majority of the songs were in Eb.

5. of course.

But….

6. thank goodness I don’t care that much about my hair and my dear friends said that my bangs didn’t look that bad (although they may have fibbed….)

7. thank goodness no one said anything about me smelling really bad and making me more self-conscious.

8. thank goodness the sweet Chinese lady didn’t really notice and we had a grand time.

9. thank goodness that I wasn’t worshiping for the people but for God and He doesn’t care if I forget how to play an Eb chord.

10. thank goodness.

Okay, so I am not obsessed with Lord of the Rings or anything (although they are my all time favorite movies and love the books) but….just tell me…wouldn’t this be sweet?!?!

I may have mentioned before how a friend of my brother’s from China was staying with us for a couple weeks.

But that didn’t do the “friend from China” justice.

You see, she isn’t just my brother’s friend, but mine now as well…and whats more….she is apart of our family (we have a REALLY big family…let me tell you!).

When Elva (that is her name) first came to stay with us I though:

“Okay, I will get to know her, since she is my brother’s friend”

But as the week went on, she became my friend as well.

And as the weeks went on…she became apart of our family.

Honestly….she is my sister, my mei, mei.

And someday I am going to visit her in China.

I love you Elva!
