Tumbler Insert Freebie

Last month, while Christmas shopping at one of the stores here, I came across these tumblers wherein you could insert any design you want between the cup and an outer plastic. I have been reading a lot about the Starbucks tumbler and I was ecstatic that I found something similar.

I bought the entire stock! Sadly there where only around 20 left. I'm sure the salesman was beginning to get irritated because I kept asking him to double check the stockroom "just in case". :)

Anyway, after I got home, I immediately made a layout and fitted it to the tumbler. I had to do a lot of adjusting and printing before I got it to fit.

It turned out great, if I say so myself. The tumblers are gifts for my husband's colleagues. On the layout, I put a 2009 calendar on it and personalized it with their names. Take a look at the finished products.

Credits for the wonderful layout goes to a kit called Mr. Golden Sun by Aimee Designs.

With Aimee's permission, I am giving the quickpage I made for free. There are two pages in the file. One has space at the bottom for a name or a message or photos. The other one is just the calendar that you can print straight away.

In my experience, the tumblers I bought were not exactly the same sizes so I had to cut off a bit on the (right) side of the page. The top part of the page has to be trimmed, too.

One of my resolutions for this year is to create more scrapbook layouts and design more kits and templates than last year. I have been really frustrated that I haven't been able to scrap as much as I wanted. But my children, esp baby Liam, were top priority then. They are STILL top on my list this year, of course, but hopefully I will have more free time to digiscrap. It is FOR and ABOUT them anyway, right?

I am crossing my fingers that this is one of my resolutions that I could keep.

It's Christmas!

It is already the 24th of December. I can't believe time has flown by so fast. This will be Baby Liam's first Christmas. I hope to take lots of pictures for his scrapbook (which I haven't even started to make yet. Huhuhu.)

We will be going to our parents' house tonight to celebrate. First stop will be my husband's parents house for Noche Buena (Christmas Eve dinner) number one. Then at my parents for part two. I sort-of skipped lunch today because I KNOW I will be eating a lot tonight. Hehehe.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Promising New Year.

Celebrating Digital Scrapbook Day at DF

It's November 1 here and I am celebrating Digital Scrapbook Day ahead of most of you guys.

I will be hanging out at Digital Freebies' forum the whole day and I hope I could scrap at least one page before the end of the day.

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day

Oh yes, I'm still here. It has been a while since my last post and longer still since my last freebie. I am truly sorry for not being around. It has been a very full month for me at home. I haven't done anything related to digital scrapbooking at all.

I am hoping that November will be more productive for me digiscrapping-wise. I am sure though that I won't be able to scrap again in December because of the busy holiday season.

And so, to start off the month, it is Digital Scrapbooking Day! I'm sure that the digital scrapbook forums will be celebrating in full force. Maybe you already have picked a forum and are ready to celebrate?

I will be hanging out at Digital Freebies today. I don't know if I will be able to scrap, though. Baby Liam is very, very mobile already and I have to keep my eyes and hands on him ALL the time. I don't recall Leelai (4yo) ever being this wriggly. :)

Annoying Caller

I already told you about that annoying call I kept getting last week, didn't I? Did I tell you that he/she kept calling every morning and would let the phone ring twice or three times and then hung up? After a minute or two, he/she would call again and hung up again. Why couldn't he/she just wait until I answered the phone?!?

I had to put my cell in silent mode so that baby Liam and Leelai would not be disturbed in their sleep. I didn't want to call the number either because: first, it was not a local number; and second, I didn't want to spend a cent for the call. My guess was that it was a telemarketeer that I turned down the week before and HE was just plain harrassing me.

Now I came across a new site perfect for irritating callers like this. At Phone Lookup Investigator, you could enter a phone number to check whether it has already been reported by others as an annoying caller. And, you could also report a number that has been harassing you.

I will try to post a comment at the site about my annoying caller. Maybe I could help warn others about it.

October Collab Kit Freebie

Here we are again for another collaboration by the Aspiring Digital Scrapbook Designers (ADSD). This month, we present you a candy/sweets theme called Sugar Shoppe.

It has been a busy month for me, both online and offline. And, I thought I would not be able to participate in this month's blog train. I won't go into details because I know you are dying to start collecting all the pieces of this huge mega kit.

It's TV Time Once Again

I will finally be able to watch new episodes of my favorite TV shows! I don't know the details of the so-called Great Writers Strike of 2007. All I know is because of it, I had to satisfy my TV cravings with reruns -- lots of it.

I felt sad when I found out about the strike early this year. I was counting on spending my last trimester and postpartum evenings watching TV. Going to the movies was out of the question. And I couldn't sit in front of the computer for very long. (I wasn't even able to make even one digital scrapbook layout.) I was on a strike, too. LOL!

Anyway, I'm glad that's over. I'm really looking forward to watching the new episodes. These shows are just a few of my many favorites: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Prison Break, Bionic Woman, NCIS, CIS and Heroes. (I know some of you may have already seen the season premieres. I haven't yet...so please don't spoil the surprise by telling me what happened, okay.)

I just remembered... I did a layout about Heroes last year. [Wait a sec...] I had to get this from the my gallery archives at Elemental Scraps. I was watching Season One when I did this (March 2007).

Idea for Dad's Birthday Gift

My Dad celebrated his birthday today. The family (except the hubby) had lunch together. Yum! Afterwards, we went to their place for some ice cream. Yummier!

It was my brother who took pictures using his camera. I have to remind him to send me the pictures so I can make scrapbook pages later.

I have not given Dad a present yet. I was thinking of buying him a new set of speakers for his computer. The ones he is using now is weird. Whenever he attaches it to his computer, we could hear the broadcast coming from a local AM radio station. I guess it has something to do with the ground and wirings of the speakers. It (the sound) is not noticeable during the day. But it gets really irritatingly loud at night.

If you have any suggestions on what brand and model to get him let me know. He loves listen to music and play games on his computer so I think something with great audio and a subwoofer would be nice.

I am also going to check out home theater speakers and subwoofer reviews online. Maybe I could get ideas.

CU Overlay Freebie #2 and Papers

Half of September is over and I have not done as much layouts as I like.

Baby Liam already learned how to complain. He wants to be carried all the time now. And he cries when he is just lying down with nobody to play with. I don't mind carrying him at all. When I use the baby sling, he quiets down instantly. He even falls asleep sometimes. The only problem is that this greatly reduces my computer time. No computer = no scrapbooking. It's not a total loss however because I am able to do more housework. I miss scrapping, though, and I hope I could make more pages in the coming days.

The kids are still alseep so I am posting another overlay freebie. You might recognize the pattern since I used this to make a few papers for the DAC Color Challenge Kit last month. If you already grabbed that, you might not want to get this anymore. I love the wavy texture on this. It seems like a waste not to share it so I decided to give it away. I also made paper samples for you. These are all okay for commercial use.

The first file contains ONLY the grayscaled JPEG overlay which you can adjust (like recolor) to your liking. The second file contains the 6 paper samples. I used the swatch from the Cornucopia of Colors freebie kit. This means that these papers would go together with the other elements from the ADSD Collab blog train.

Template Freebie #7

Before I give away the template, allow me to share a picture I took of Baby Liam and his favorite toy.

He will be 5 months old in a few days. He could already sit up alone on the floor. He sometimes loses his balance and plops backward or sideways so I put pillows all around.

Since he learned how to sit, that is all he wants to do now. If he is laying down on his back or tummy for a long time, he gets fussy and starts to shriek. He is the boss of the house and he knows it. LOL!

Right now, he is sitting on my lap and trying to grab the blue blinking lights on my laptop. Which makes it hard for me to type this. :)

Anywhoo...it has been a while since I shared a template freebie. So I am sharing one now with you. It has a large area for one photo and is in PSD format. If you want me to include PNGs of the template, just let me know.

September Desktop Freebie

I made a desktop wallpaper using the mini-kit I made for the Digital Arts Cafe's Color Challenge. Here's what my desktop looks like now.

That's baby Liam. He is already 4 months old. Next month, he will be trying his first solid food. I am already prepared for the big event. The baby food is in the pantry. I also bought his spoon yesterday. We are going to the paediatrician tomorrow for his shots. I will be asking the doctor then for confirmation if Liam is indeed ready. (At what age did your baby eat his first solid food?)

Anyway, since I already made the wallpaper for my laptop, why not share it with you. There are two PNG files in the zip - 1680x1050 and 1280x960.

Disappointed with our ISP

We had no internet access the whole day yesterday! I was having withdrawal symptoms and I was grumpy the whole day. We were better off with our previous provider - Bayantel. I wish we had not switched four months ago to Globe. They offered faster speed at a cheaper price and we grabbed it without thinking. Wrong move!

Bayantel was already stable and didn't have any downtime. Sometimes download is slower at peak hours. But I prefer having slow internet access than none at all.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. If you come back tomorrow, I have a freebie for you! If the freebie is not up by Friday, that means Globe is NOT doing it's job again.
