Historical Places of Delhi

Himayun Tomb

Himayun Tomb is located in Nizamudin East, Delhi. It is a Historical place.HIMAYUN was a first Mughal Samrat.It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. The omb was commissioned by Humayun'sfirst Wife and chief consort,Empress Bega Begum(also known as Haji Begum).the tomb was declared a UNESCO World heritage Site in 1993 and since then has undergone extensive restoration work, which is complete .Humayun,several smaller monumaents dot the pathway leading up to it, from the main entrance in the west,including one that even pre -dates the main tomb itself,by twenty years.

Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is located in the modern city of DELHI.The site is one of five built by Maharaja Jai singh 2 of Jaipur,from 1723onwards , as he was given by MUGHAL Emperor Muhammad Shah the task of revising the calender and astronomiacal tables.There is a plaque fixed on one of the structures in the JANTAR MANTAR observatory in New delhi that was placed there in 1910 msitakenly dating the construction of the complex to the year 1710. Later research, though suggests 1724 as the actual year of construction.
It si an intresting place. you will like it .you should explore this unique place.

3. the Red Fort

Red Fort is a hoistorical fort .It is situated in delhi(old delhi) ."Red Fort" was built by the Mughal Emperor. Shah Jahan.It was built on the right bank of river yamuna. It is one of the those monuments which enhance the grace of Delhi.

The Fort was plundered of its artwork and jewels duirng Nadir shah's invasion of the Mughal EMPIRE IN 1747.Most of the fort's defensive walls were largefortress was subsequently spared, and the fortress was subsequently used as a garrison .The red fort was also the site where the BRITISH put the last mughaL emperoron trial before exiling him to Rangoon in1858

4.India Gate

The India Gate is the national monument . It is situated in New Delhi.It was built in1931 by Sir Edwin Lutyens.The Speciallty of this , it is situated in such a way that many important roads spread out from it.It is a originally known as the all India War Memorial.It is a prominent landmark in Delhi and commenorates the 90,000 soldiers.

1.Akshardham Temple

Akshardham or Swaminarayan Akshardham copmlex is a HIndu Mandir, adn a spirtualcultural campus in New Delhi ,INDIA . IT is situated in delhi the The temple, which attracts approximattely 70% of all tourist who visit DElhi, was officially opened on 6november2005 by DR, APJ Abdul Kalam. Its sites near the banks of yamuna adajacent to the 2010 . It is very huge and beautiful temple.This temple is full of uniqueness. INDIA also reffered to as Akshardham temple(mandir)or swaminarayan akshardham.

According to Swaminayan Hindustan, the word Akshardham means the abode of almighty Lord Swaminarayan and believed by followers as a temporal home of God on EARTH
In this temple there are many unique things like sahaj Anand water show, a thematic garden and three exhibitions namely Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of values),Neelkanth Darshan (cultural boat ride).
