Lumen Project II: Discovering New Perspectives

2012-12-11T21:26:00.000-05:00

The Biocommunications class of 2013 worked all semester to create a book and we've finally released it. Our book can be purchased here: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3825196. Inside you'll find the unique creativity of each of us and how we interpret what we see. This was a challenging project, but it was well worth it.

This is the front cover:

Rick Smith

2012-12-10T11:57:00.001-05:00

RCC received donations of many of Rick Smith's photographic accessories and subjects and the Biocommunications class decided to pay tribute to him by photographing his items in his memory.

This is my interpretation of his work:

Polarized Light on Plastic

2012-12-10T11:52:00.000-05:00

I photographed this for my Object Lighting Portfolio. I used a piece of Pictoria Transparency and placed polarizing filters in front of the light and in front of the camera and tweak the outcome in Photoshop.

This was an assignment for my Object Lighting class. We had to photograph a fruit or vegetable and display it in a way that shows that it was healthy for you. I used a pomegranate and a wine glass to symbolize red wine.

This lumen is composed of four photographic post cards that were scanned and manual aligned in photoshop. Hue, saturation, and levels were adjusted. I'm not entirely done with this one, but I figured I would post it anyways.
