Client: Carilion Fitness

Roanoke, VA, June 19, 2009—Abandon Films, a local video company based in Smith Mountain Lake, recently wrapped up production for “The First Jump of Summer,” a family-oriented TV commercial commissioned by Carilion Wellness and Fitness, an affiliate of Carilion Health System, a major Virginia health-care provider and owner of the Roanoke and Botetourt Athletic Clubs and the Zoom Fitness On the Go Center in downtown Roanoke.

AF, which specializes in promotional and theatrical content, was hired by Carilion to help them advertise the opening of the swimming pools at their popular membership-based Roanoke and Botecourt clubs. Once the script, written by AF’s Justin Snyder, was approved by Carilion, producer Justin Rossbacher brought in cinematographer Marc Hutchins of Alexander Films to shoot “First Jump” under Snyder’s direction. Allison Brelyn, marketing director for the clubs, was intrigued by AF’s creative approach to this project, and acted as associate producer, bringing in the cast and securing locations. AF’s Won Novalis then handled the editing, graphics, and color.

“The First Jump of Summer” is being aired in the Roanoke Valley area on four broadcast stations and two cable networks. AF implemented digital ftp delivery to all six venues.

About AF
Abandon Films is a provider of high-end video production services founded in 2007 in Roanoke, Virginia. Drawing on a strategic network of professional partners with extensive experience in television and feature film, AF is able to offer promotional and theatrical video content tailored to meet the needs of a broad clientele.
