I did my Christmas list today and realized that I still have a lot of shopping to do. I went to Power Plant's Moonlit Bazaar last Friday with W; it did not disappoint and we were able to buy a lot of stocking stuffers - with free mojitos to boot.

There were a lot of online and Multiply sellers at the Moonlit Bazaar and among my favorites are Beauty & Minerals (mineral make-up, brushes), Tiny Tots (infant wear, outfits for kids), My Goodie Bag (bags, organizers & toiletries) and The Urban Baby (cool onesies, rompers and shirts). CHRISTMAS WISHES

It's that time of the year again! Time to bring out the list of Christmas wishes. I did not make any list last year since I mostly got what I needed in '09 even before Christmas - and I am not just talking about material wants. *wink*

But this year is different. It was such a very stressful and demanding year for me (watch out for my year-end blog post) so I think I deserve to wish for ~~many~~ stuff as a reward for a very hardworking and grueling year.

1. Tablet
I initially don't want to get one...but who am I kidding?! This is one of those good things designed for people like me. I really really really want one even if almost everyone I know has one. I am dead set on getting the "i" for seamless platform integration to my other gadgets but the "G" is just too beautiful to be ignored.

But, this article of Techie.com.ph might help me decide what to get, I was screencapped after all. :) The iPad will officially come to the Philippines on December 17.

I wasn't able to do all the things I planned in our HK trip last September so a quick repeat is in order. If not this year then 2011 definitely!

Leap is a project that we've been working on for months now. I've been losing a lot of sleep because of it BUT I've finally come to terms with it. I've seen the light and is hoping for the best that we finish it on time. I'm in for a long haul!

Today is November 14, 2010. Another Pacman Day. Another happy day for Filipinos because the "Pambansang Kamao", Manny Pacquiao, won his 8th Division World Champ title in boxing against Antonio Margarito of Mexico. I rarely blog about work and our products but I'll make an exception for this one.

One of my favorite Smart products is SMART Bro. It introduced and launched so many variants in the last years and I've always been a loyal to it. I availed of the SMART Bro canopy even before I got into Smart. I'm using it for four years now and it still provides good connection for me and our whole household. I also bought a SMART Bro Plug-it when it was launched and I like it so much because it's reliable and it constantly connects me if there's no WiFi or wired connection available.

Now comes another SMART Bro product that I will truly like and definitely get: the SMART Bro Pocket WiFi. This product is SMART's version of the Mobile WiFi or MiFi. Simply put, it's a gadget that will make you a WiFi Hotspot anywhere and everywhere you go as long as there is a SMART signal. The device is portable, can easily fit in your pocket, and it can provide simultaneous connections to five WiFi-enabled gadgets (mobile phones, iPads, laptops, PSPs, etc.). It's October 25 and it's another voting day for the Philippines! I will vote. How about you?

Today is the nationwide Barangay Elections in the Philippines. Yes, it's another election in the country after the life changing National Elections of May 2010. This will be a small one compared to the last plebiscite when President Noy was elected. But this, I believe, has more impact to us and in our everyday lives. HONGKONG TECH SHOPPING

I went to Hongkong last month. I planned the trip complete with itinerary and the tiniest details BUT it all went down the drain because we spent most of our days shopping. Thus I'll be sharing with you some shopping reports and finds in the "shopping mecca" of the world.

Being the geek that I am, the most common questions I encountered before I went to Hongkong was: "Are you going to buy an iPad? How about an iPhone 4?" Answer: Nope!

I actually did not intend to buy any electronics or gadgets on this particular trip. I did not even wander in the Fortress stores, HK's popular digital shop, for me not to be tempted. I splurged on shoes, bags, clothes, but not on gadgets. Hongkong shoppers know that HK is no longer the best place where you can buy electronics stuff. It's also risky to buy because of the knock-offs, copies and fakes that surrounds every corner of the fame shopping district.

But I kinda broke my promise and did not come home empty-handed (gadget-wise). I was still able to wander and buy three (3) portable external hard disk drive which apparently turned out as my best buys on the trip.

Imation iPro Metal Portable HDD

I was able to get a Western Digital Elements 500GB external hard drive for only $HKD 460 (Php 2,760) and an Imation iPro Metal 500GB for $HKD 489 (Php 2,934). The former was for my boss who asked me to buy him two and the latter was for me. I chose aluminum Purple but they don't have it on stock so I chose pink instead. These external HDDs were very inexpensive compared to the 500GB in Manila which sells for Php 3,500 - 4,000 per unit. I was able to get additional discounts and freebies since I got three.

I bought the gadgets at the Basement of Golden Computer Arcade located in the Sham Shui Po district. It is quite far from the usual HK fares and it caters more to locals than to tourists. It's easily accessible via MTR and it's a popular shopping center for computers and peripherals so it's very easy to locate. The shopping center is open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. There's a lot of stalls selling impossibly 'marked down prices' for electronics so be very cautious when buying.

I love weddings! So it was such a delight when we attended Paul and Cindy's Church Wedding at the Nuestra Senora De Gracia in Makati last Saturday, October 9.

Paul is a former officemate and a very good friend from Honda. He went to the US after the 'big Honda exodus' where he met and fell in love with the lovely Cindy.

It was really nice to finally meet Cindy whom I've been talking with at Twitter for years now.

My Honda friends also attended and it was again a night of fun and laughter. It was nice to see everyone.

My Best Honda Pals, the Velas, were also there together with Gina.

Weng & Elaine were also in attendance (with a cute Baicapture shot to boot).

Raymond & Patty also went to the reception, at The Heritage Hotel, even if Pats is on a strict bed rest order from the doc (Congratulations, guys! Can't wait to see the little babe!).

The newly-wed gave guests cute yellow and orange M&M's In A Bottle. Really, really cute and nice.

Congratulations and Best Wishes, Paul & Cindy! It was such a lovely wedding. :)

62ND EMMY AWARDS' RED CARPET REPORT

Mad Men won its third Outstanding Drama Series accolade at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. I've been meaning to watch it - mostly out of curiosity - but couldn't find the time. My personal choice for the award is still ABC's Grey's Anatomy or Brothers & Sisters, despite the fact that they were both snubbed once again and were robbed of a nomination.

Crowd favorite Glee won several awards but it doesn't include the Outstanding Comedy Series award that everyone is expecting them to get. The award deservingly went to Modern Family. Gleek Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) won the Supporting Actress plum but fellow cast mate Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) failed to get the top actress honors.

As usual, here are my personal red carpet observations, likes and dislikes. There were so many bombs (compared to their movie star counterparts at the Oscar's) but there were also a few notable ones. The most popular and recurring theme of the night was "Goddess White". Black is still the safe choice for some but I've never seen so many white in the red carpet until last night. Special mention to Julie Benz and Kim Kardashian for glamorously pulling it off.

I realized that my best choices are either those in really dark hues (black, navy blue) or very light hues (white, beige). But some of them are in the same style - check out the outfits of Jayma, Eva, Jane Krakowski and Julie Bowen - almost the same cut and color.

GLAMBERT LIVE IN MANILA!

American Idol 8 was the last AI season I was able to watch fully. I am a true Kris Allen fan but I believe that Adam Lambert was the better performer and singer. I also think that he is one of the best (if not THE best) American Idol contestants in the 9 year history of the show. I knew he had it in him ever since I saw his American Idol audition in San Diego. I will never forget his memorable American Idol covers of "The Track of My Tears", "Mad World" and "Feeling Good".

I saw at Chuvaness' blog the other day that the Glambert will finally be in Manila in October as part of the Adam Lambert Glam Nation Tour. The concert will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on October 10, 2010 at 8:00 pm. He will perform "Strut," "Fever", his current single, "If I Had You", and his biggest hit, "Whataya Want From Me."
