Mob mentality is as old as humanity itself and this was a sad sad event, a low income taxi driver was caught up in the middle.

Most likely the driver would lose favor from the cab company over total lose of the car, which may or may not be reimbursed by the insurance company.

This shows what unknown, unrelated people can do when they gather collectively by chance or by choice on random places.

Recently Pennsylvania has experienced the similar fate by twitter and facebook and this game night menace is repeated again and again. It is not just an issue for national sports but also at college levels... why hasn't there been a better solution to handle these crowd issues???

Darn telescope $6,999.00 :o, after looking over many telescopes for fun viewing for months, now it seems the one I like to purchase is the one i cannot afford (unless I win it in sweepstakes)

Last week I was so much into building a telescope from scratch that I almost thought about buying the concave mirrors and other items mentioned by some of the astronomy groups from amazon or best-buy and even went to best-buy and one more store "magnifiers and glass" only to realize this store is for senior citizen's eye glass lol.

Sadly the excitement to build quickly died out when I purchased a Emerson 50x100mm telescope for $7.99 with additional coupon of 5 dollars on 25 dollars purchase from cvs... in reality the telescope might have ended up under 4 dollars.

It's a good deal from what I was going to build by purchasing mirror's, tubes, duct tape and what not and it is sad because the darn 7.99 deal killed my dream to experience the joy of building a telescope, after watching so many YouTube videos on how to build a telescope.

From the telescope I purchase, i didn't really see much and I am feeling good now that, the one I was going to build would have turned up similar or most likely worse, so all in all the cvs deal may have saved me the migraines, money and lot of cursing lolz, but now the other issue is I am drooling over the most freakishly expensive telescopes out there...

If only if my prescription glass could have been auto convertible to telescope, life would be easier :)

This is just a start, as soon there might be more solutions like these, but this is a best start solution that I have seen, no wires or expensive solar materials are needed.

My First Windows Phone 7 Application

It’s turning out to be a good day.

I got a chance to test the MS Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone and so far I am happy with the learning curve, usually what happens with sample applications that I try out is they break or they alert of a missing file which I can’t seem to figure out but this case it has been a smooth ride.

I feel like I may give it a more try and may be build a easy and useful application to demo it to my boss, well I have to justify the time spend lolz…

Well the hello world app and mini browser did not give our too difference so here is just a shot of default emulator browsing my blog.

It was a painful experience to make the vspider work on the win 2008 r2 for new install of coldfusion 9.

I had to move our client application from ColdFusion MX 6.1 to ColdFusion 9 server and the verity eat up lot of time than I was anticipating, the solution was right in-front of me on this top link forum post but I couldn't understand what was needed.

Finally downloading the ColdFusion 9 Documentation and using the mkvdk command line as documented solved the issue. In ColdFusion 6.1 things were different and the automated script that I wrote 5 years ago has worked like a charm so far but now that I was upgrading the client application, things didn't worked out as expected.

If any one has to end up supporting and migrating a ColdFusion 6 automated search index to ColdFusion 9 than here is the solution for you:

1. Log In to Administrator site

2. Delete the migration indexes that are not working in the ColdFusion Collections

3. Delete the folder's of the indexes on physical drive

4. Restart ColdFusion Search Services

5. Modify and Run the below command for your migration indexes.

mkvdk -create -collection C:\ColdFusion9\verity\collections\YourSiteIndex -style C:\ColdFusion9\verity\Data\stylesets\ColdFusionVspider

The above mkvdk is one line .bat file for me.

6. Run your search index call, I use the command line utility

C:\ColdFusion9\verity\k2\_nti40\bin\vspider -cmdfile C:\Inetpub\YourWebSite\search_index.txt > C:\Inetpub\YourWebSite\search_index.log

and the search_index.txt has the following text

-common C:\ColdFusion9\verity\k2\common

-collection C:\ColdFusion9\verity\collections\YourSearchIndex

-start http://127.0.0.1:82/resources/news.cfm

-host localhost 127.0.0.1

-loglevel verbose

Good or bad identity of Wal-Mart, I think this is a step in the right direction. I have personally had to go through the situation where I needed the financial help and job security which were interdependent on each other.

In order to have the job security I needed to take higher studies and in order to pay for the higher studies I need the job. I already had the loans to pay for the education as I skipped the college after certain time and now wanted to get back into school but all counseling suggestions and the representative suggested loans were just outrageous.

I believe a company sponsored solution will be greatly helpful to these Wal-Mart employees.

UPDATED: How do i map access database on windows 2008 r2 64bit?

I am having a really hard time today in searching for a solution for mapping the access database file on windows server 2008 r2 64bit.

The issue at hand is that I cannot find the Microsoft Jet Engine drivers for the windows server 2008. I am not sure as to why there are no drivers easily available not just for odbc of access but for excel as well.

After I installed sql server I got the sql server drivers and I hoped that after installing the Microsoft office 2007 trial edition on the server, it will install the odbc drivers for both access and excel, but it does not seems to be the case.

now the dilemma is on how to find these drivers, how do I get the same kind of sys 32 drivers work on a sys 64 bit system and map the old access mdb files so that I can make the coldfusion application work.

I recently asked a question on the DNN forum and thought to share it here as well, it's not a blog entry but hopefully from here I might get some other comments which may or may not be available on DNN and it may help me in setting up other solutions besides DNN.

We have setup a environment for:
Two Windows 2008 R2 Server with 12 GB of memory and 2 CPU's
Single MS SQL Server 2008 Web Edition
Once the cluster sync is enabled the files from first server will be sync to the server two, but both servers web config sql connection string will point to the single sql server.

The traffic to the servers is handle by least connection method and point the domain on the correct server.

We have already tested the solution and the server one and server two are both working good as well as the resolution of the domain is working out good, but what I want to know is have I made any mistake in setting up the environment in this way? Will there be any issue when it comes to cache files or system files or the GUID's that DNN creates?

The restrictions in place will be that only server one can be editable/updated and there will be a 20 or 30 or even 60 min delay in sync of the servers. The editors and admins will use the specialized sub domain of the server one to make there updates to the web site, and it will be there responsibility to make sure that they are not using the full domain path in linking or referencing a image, file or a page.

Is there any draw back from my setup? what will be the issues? Will I face any kind of setup issues besides the ones I mentioned above?

Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated.

Build My Own PC Part II

Finally I have some time to write down about my experience in building the pc of mine at home. It was not-at-all fun but at the end it was gratifying.

Just knowing that I can connect the hardware without anyone’s help (excluding all the Google-ling) or I should have said *paid* help, just makes it cool. I guess knowing little bit is better than fearing of not knowing the little.

Here are some of the images of the hardware in my room before I started off building my pc.

Well I don’t have much regarding the details of what happen except to say that when I installed windows 7 beta, I ran into a sleep mode issue and the same issue was again there when i formatted and installed vista. So now I am thinking of reformatting and installing the windows 7 release may be after couple of months I guess.

Oh by the way i messed up the processor while installing or i think so went back to the store and got a

replacement as it was not working :) i was scared they may not take it back claiming it’s my fault :D

Congressman: Rep. John Murtha large intestine was damaged during gallbladder surgery

It’s a bit shocking to hear that Rep. John Murtha died due to complications with the gallbladder surgery, as I read just the headline and not the details, I am little dumb struck to hear it as my dad has went through the same surgery. As people say sometimes “ignorance is bliss”, when the doctor told my family and I about the complications that can happen and how many percentage is the successful rate of surgery, I didn’t seem to register it all, or it could be that i didn’t wanted to register the bad and only want to hope for the best.

To give a little background on my dad’s health, he has dialysis every other day due to his almost non working kidney’s and blood pressure and other symptoms.

A day before the surgery dad was having very fluctuating high fever which doctors diagnosed as an issue with the gallbladder, and within some hours of diagnosis we were asked about to make the decision about the surgery next day has the medicine he has taken needs to flush out from his body before the surgery.

My dad has gone through lot of surgeries due to his complications in the kidney, but saying yes to the surgery was in a way no choice answer, we were told that he has to have it removed or he will have same symptoms or worst more complications.

As my family agreed and said yes, it was a bit unreal, the uncertainty and at the same time reality of saying yes at the situation. The silent silence on the family that was present in the hospital room was so unbearably noticeable as well as an uneasiness noticed by the another patient who as also in the room just a curtain away. I can totally understand the patients view who is disturbed by all the commotion and the chatter, and i guess there is no simple or right way when such a situation happens.

The next day came with more uneasiness and as dad went in for the surgery it was a bit unreal as much as I was scared I was truly felt as if nothing wrong will happen and everything will be perfect and normal, it’s a bit terrifying now when I hear about the Rep. John Murtha’s death, as for as my dad’s surgery it went without and an issue and his recovery was faster than we anticipated it to be.

I wish Murtha’s family patience and peace.

Solution: wordpress Could not copy files issue on windows while upgrading

I was getting the error "could not copy files" on auto upgrade of wordpress from admin. As my system is windows 2003 based, I could not run those chmod 777 or other methods and the simple solution if you have the server access is to allow internet guest user access to the wordpress root folder, run the upgrade and then remove the internet guest user account.

Thats all there is to it, but yeah only if you have access to the server, otherwise you would have to work with your hosting provider.

Solution: Win 2003-IIS6 & PHP 5.2 - for - Error "The specified procedure could not be found"

I was able to find the simple solution to the issue IIS6 & PHP 5.2. It seems like I was focusing too much on the online help solutions, posted by others rather than to, try to figure out how to solve it best.

The documents avalaible online are, mostly suggesting the older php4isapi.dll or php5isapi.dll rather than to utilize WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\fcgiext.dll file

To solve the issue regarding "The specified procedure could not be found." error all you have to do is in
IIS6 >> Websites (select) "Properties"
Properties >> "Home" tab and then "Configuration" button and Tab "Mappings".

Under mappings update the .php extension dll to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\fcgiext.dll"

This should solve the issue with the new settings, it's very painful to read over so many early php5 versions suggestions which does not talk about this, only few handful of recent blogs talk about the update and those are not the first results on search engines at least not at till when i was doing research till today.

Hope it helps you out, in installing php 5.2 on iis6 on windows 2003.

ahhhhh i don't know if it's for real or not but it seems that facebook app for blackberry effected my mobile, my mobile was not working out since yesterday and it was going into constant restart, first I uninstalled google maps as that was the last app I updated, but even after uninstalling google map and lot of other apps my phone was still not working and was going into constant restarts... only after I removed the facebook app today did the phone finally started working :( ... I updated facebook app like three days ago, hope that facebook releases a patch otherwise I am no longer installing the facebook app on my blackberry :(

it wasn't a crisis for not able to use the phone for a day but i wouldn't want to risk it again thinking great social networking site will release bug free app's...

I don't know the exact view point this articles author is trying to make, nor do I think I can predict or sense what a friend from another room, but to me sometimes it feels weird that I can fill in other peoples word when they get stuck, and many other people do the same, either we use the words too common that we all can predict it or it's something totally different...

i don't know what it is but i do feel good when i can predict the one word that another person is having struggle with uttering out for few seconds... I feel same strangeness when others do the same to me... it's cool, weird and silly at the same time...
