Master Of Play Episode 1 Sand Painting

2012-06-30T09:51:00.001-07:00

Master Of Play has ended.
Other than Moses I enjoyed it. His scenes annoyed me more and more near the end, but oh well.

Something I really liked was the sand paintings and the monologues.

The first monologue was probably my favourite out of all.

It is so true.

Humans made up all these "golden verses" to make themselves feel better. (A loss may turn out to be a gain/A blessing in disguise) This is just one of them.

Lipstick Circle Episode 9

2012-06-20T19:13:00.002-07:00

Long time no post...

But don't really feel like posting anything

But came across Bobby's interview where he talked about female artists that he worked with (Esther, Yoyo, Jessica) and also watching Lipstick Circle made me post this.

A joke?

Bobby probably told Yoyo this story about Esther and Nick during The Legendary Four Aces.

I would love to hear more inside stories like this! This is what makes a talk show "good", this is also why I liked Club Sparkle (apart from having Sandra) a lot. As long as the artists are willing to share, there are probably many more of these stories, we as audiences can hear. (Having Bobby on these talk shows would be great, he always has stories to tell.)

And I will try... try.. try. to post at least once a month, or even every week. How do people even have the will to do something like this, whether it is a youtube video or blogging every so often.

Someone teach me =P

Random fact: Joey Meng will be going to TVB tomorrow! Costime Fitting for the series Wong Cho Lam wrote "Cousin, You Are Good"

When Heaven Burns - Charmaine Sheh

2012-01-01T20:04:00.000-08:00

It seems liked forever that I've (and probably lots of others people) have waited for When Heaven Burns (still like Heaven And Earth more) to air and it is already over.

It is not every one's taste and can be slow, just like most of Chik Ki Yee's series, but at least he does not repeat what he has did and he has casts that can attract me to watch.

I randomly choose to draw a picture after today's final episode.

There aren't any pictures on TVB's site I saw that I wanted to draw or maybe I did not look hard enough.
I wanted to draw the picture of Charmaine staring at the 'toy' but was too lazy to look for it and just randomly came across this following picture while scanning through the episodes.

Date: 1st January, 2012

I should stop choosing such dark/blurry pictures. Hard to see details and lines when it is all black.

My mark: 5/10 [This is just a picture snapped from my camera will scan it later and the other ones, especially the Fly With Me - Ada Choi, which got deleted for some reason]

I suppose this is a good way to start of the new year (= be more productive and update this blog more often.

TVB should also work harder too. I did not even bother to post anything during the anniversary or any "wrap up" of my TVB feelings.
Hope it changes this year.

Happy New Year! (if I still have any readers out there)

Be Home For Dinner Episode 92 Selected Scene

2011-07-28T20:56:00.000-07:00

It has been a long time since I posted anything, over 4 months.

I've got lots of reviews on series and movies that I started on but never got to finishing, since I didn't stop watching TVB or movies but just never got to the writing and posting part of it.
Plus TVB hasn't been doing too good for me, well... unless you count the 'TVB star scandals' that happen to air a new series every month and that isn't too interesting either.

And still the only series I want to watch is Heaven And Earth or When Heaven Burns and it still hasn't been released. Maybe when that airs I will be blogging a bit more.

What made me blog today was today's episode of Be Home For Dinner, nothing special or super but Becky Lee managed to make me suprised. It isn't the first time either, first time was her singing.

Very different from how normally Tong Jing Jing/Sum Hoi Yi would react but it was cute. Would love to see the writers explore more about her since she is part of the main cast and has improved from the beginning.

BTW... where is the rest of the naked pictorial that the very truthful Miss Lok said??

Life Of Screen - Leslie Cheung, Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung

2011-03-18T21:14:00.000-07:00

Life Of Screen is a talk show hosted by Meg Lam Kin Ming broadcasted by ATV (February 1997)
This episode had Leslie Cheung, Maggie Cheung, and Tony Leung.

Dai Jei Ming is definately good at hosting, too bad she doesn't (can't) host anymore.
Not a big fan of anyone here but still like them, miss real big stars and actual interviews like these.

Maggie talks about Sandra at 16:12 and Tony talks about Sandra at 18:13. All three of them are somewhat close friends with Sandra.

Only You Episode 16 Selected Scene

Almost a year ago I saw this clip, it is actually for Only You.

Good for Chin Ka Lok to still be able to do all these stunts.
And good that Chin Ka Lok made episode 16 funny.

Only You Episode 10 Selected Scene

2011-03-08T19:39:00.000-08:00

Episode 10 was full of Yoyo
Loved these 2 scenes the most

Krystal and Evergreen running away was the best.

Krystal: Wait... I will borrow clothes, borrow salary, borrow money, borrow soya sause. Only my husband can't be borrowed. Bye.
Runs away

Louise's 'be good' was also good.

Yoyo: 20 years old date 20 years old, 4-50 years old date 20 years old, 6-70 years old and 7-80 years old date 20 years old. Then who takes those who aren't 20 years old.

Yoyo: The only qualities men chooses in women is equal to their waist line, don't want over 24. Then who takes the 42s.

Yoyo =D

All Star Glam Exam Episode 2 - Dicky Cheung

2011-03-07T18:08:00.000-08:00

Big 4 (Dicky Cheung, William So, Edmond Leung, Andy Hui) went on All Star Glam Exam hosted by Grasshopper (Calvin Choy, Remus Choy, Edmond So)

Dicky is just hilarious.
Love this part the most.

I am guessing the quote is "Her passions are made of nothing but the finest part of pure love" by William Shakespeare. I know close to 0 about Shakespeare, gave it all back to the teacher.

Palace/Gong seemed to have a lot of people discussing/watching so I thought I’d give it a try, plus Sonija and Maggie (two actresses I like) were both in it so I decided to watch it.

I am not a fan of China series especially when there are Hong Kong/Cantonese speaking actors/actresses that means they have to dub their voices. Surprisingly this wasn't too bad, but that might also be the fact instead of a certain people, every one's voices were dubbed, the sound was more consistence even if it didn't always match their mouths.
Now I also understand why TVB artist say they get more rest, they don't really need to memorize the script that thoroughly/precise.

Other than Sonija and Maggie, I only knew Kent Tong and Feng Shao Feng so everyone was pretty 'new'.

Yang Mi and Feng Shao Feng did make a pretty sweet couple, no wonder there are lots of people who like them and there is a pre-production/discussion of Gong/Palace 2 being in progress which would be sweet if they continue their story.

Sonija Kwok was the Consort that wanted the King so used lots of ideas to get his attention. Probably not something new if you've seen Sonija's previous/beginning period series but I haven't really seen much but can guess how much she has improved. There were a few 'funny' scenes, especially in the beginning, one I remember was teasing Yang Mi.

Mickey He wasn't that likable most likely because he was almost emotionless, probably because of the character/script. Hopefully Palace 2 gives him a better role and partner since his 'wives' were not great actresses.

Leanne Liu is the mother that you can't say is scheming because mothers who do stuff for their children are never that 'evil'. Saw on her wiki page that she can cry within 3 seconds and saw that amazing skill of hers. Really amazing!

Maggie Shiu was only a guest role so not a lot of screen time. Loved the part when she told Yang Mi the story of the King and her but other than that she didn't have much to do. Thought she would still have a scene or two but I guess she just 'disappeared' after she disappeared.

Most of the other actors and actresses didn't seem to be that great, probably because they weren't really the focus, so the script didn't give them much to do or maybe I am just not used to mandarin/what they were talking about because most of it was scheming and wasn't that interesting.

Only side story that more interesting was 13th Prince + Princess but that was really really short.

Other than some not as good acting, the script seemed too modern… although there was time travel everyone else should be more 'ancient', their dialogue sometimes just makes me laugh because it is so modern. Really makes me scratch my head hearing 'slang' especially by the palace maids which always have to be so bitchy.
It is also amazing how even if it is after 10+ years hardly any of their looks change or hardly anything changed.

Even if it isn't a great script and great acting, there was still something that hooked me to the story. Maybe it is the chemistry between Yang Mi and Feng Shao Feng or maybe it was the hoping of a Maggie or Sonija scene popping up soon, but I think Yang Mi and Feng Shao Feng were the ones that made me somewhat addicted to the show.

I guess I will still have something to look forward to even if TVB decides to air Heaven And Earth (after that I don't have anything I am interested in) which they have been tempting me (and probably lots of others) forever… When will it ever air!!!

My Rating:7/10, won't re-watch

I was a bit interested in Linda’s ‘Leng Mo’ role but as time past I wasn’t as interested. Watched it while it was airing and surprisingly one of the best 2010 series from the ones I’ve seen.

Wong He seem to have use lots of time to make this character interesting, without his effort it might have been boring. Thumbs up for him. Too bad that TVB doesn’t treat him that well and he might be leaving after his contract expires… another lost for TVB

Linda Chung started off annoying and over the top, after it cooled down and was better. It wasn’t great or good but it got better. She seemed to tried too hard to be ‘cute’ when she didn’t need to.

Raymond Wong’s comedy was pretty good, the mandarin parts could have gotten annoying but he managed to do it well.

Queenie Chu showed she has potential, slowly rising to the second lead is definitely good. She and Raymond made a good pair with a cute child. Would like to see more roles from her but not the slutty/third party ones.

Power Chan was acting really happy and was a bit weird, almost thought he was a cameo since he doesn’t seem to appear on TVB series that much nowadays (or maybe I am not following any TVB series filming news because I don’t want spoilers ). Luckily he wasn’t and it was great seeing him.

The cases for this series were very weird, all the cases seemed so similar yet they are all different things. Maybe because most cases related to main one. It almost felt it was going to drag but I still wanted to chase the episodes and probably the only series I was really chasing episode after episode in a while.

It seemed like the cast worked really hard and well together so it made up for the not as good script so therefore it made the series good.

Overall there wasn't much to draw, close ups have less than other to draw, so less drawing also means less mistakes and less challenging and less time needed.

Maybe find another one to draw if I have the time.
