Conclusion friday I took welfare of the sunny and windy day and the fact that my grandma is here! and I painted the coral table.

Venerdì scorso ho approfittato della giornata ventosa e soleggiata ma soprattutto del fatto che mia nonna è qui! e ho ridipinto il cassettone corallo.
Mi piace ancora quella tonalità, ma non per la camera da letto. Originariamente il comò era nel mio flat, ma quando ho spostato la mia vecchia buffet bianca nella camera di Enea, l'ho rimpiazzata con questo e mettermi in ballo a dipingerlo era fuori questione.
Comunque, ho ridotto la mia scelta a tre possibili colori e voglio ringraziare tutti voi per i commenti e i suggerimenti che mi avete dato. Alla fine ho deciso di optare per un "azzurro polveroso" T2032-6 di Tollens , dato che ho già l'armadio menta nella stanza di Enea. Sono più che felice del risultato close: è bello, sofisticato e rappresenta chi sono può davvero un colore fare ciò? Sì, lo fa! .
Che ne dite? Io lo adoro!! Toglietemi di mano il pennello, adesso voglio dipingere tutto il resto in questa tonalità di azzurro!

Formerly again I've been really lucky at the thrift accumulation: here my latest purchases.

A fastidious H&M grim cook console with the newfangled tag! , a big impressionable containerful from Dramatist, the Ikea tray with Dala horses I e'er loved one! and a enamel shield with lovely pastel decorations. As wonted, inferior than 5 euros for the all pillage!

Ancora una volta sono stata molto fortunata al negozio hollow'usato: ecco qui i miei ultimi acquisti.

Un bel vestito nero H&M ancora con l'etichetta originale! , un grosso cucchiaio di plastica di Rice, il vassoio Ikea con i Dala horses ne ho sempre voluto uno! e un piatto smaltato con splendide decorazioni pastello. Locomote al solito, meno di 5 euro per il tutto bottino!

Rattan seems to be one of those styles that never fades of fashion. It's flexible, eco-friendly and it suits every interior.
It can perfect if you want to obtain a sophisticated yet simple look, but simultaneously it's the icing within the cake for a boho-chic space. It can be a classic chair, a unfortunate sofa or a reflection: a rattan item is something a home can't miss. Additionally Ikea made their own rattan collection, it can called Nipprig and i also told you about it right here, last february and last time at Ikea I bought this and this.

Sunny weekend in pictures

The sun has been an injection of vitamin D, we really need it.

Crochet kitchen curtain

Good morning and happy new week.
We had a great weekend, still chilly but sunny..it really seems spring is knocking on the door! Tomorrow I show you some pictures of the past few days.
Today I want to share my latest crochet project: a small curtain for the kitchen door. That door is the one that brings to the laundry room, a space that often is messy and not very nice to see, so I decided to hide the view with a lovely and colourful crochet curtain. For this project I use the yarn Cotton8 from my shop in different colours and I used the basic granny square pattern. It matches perfectly the bottle cover, isn't it?
I'm thinking to make a bigger one for the door that, from the laundry room, brings to the patio..mmm..

Buongiorno e felice nuova settimana.
Abbiamo avuto un fine settimana fantastico, ancora freschino ma soleggiato..sembra proprio che la primavera stia bussando alla porta! Domani vi mostrerò alcune immagini dei giorni passati.
Oggi voglio condividere il mio ultimo progetto all'uncinetto: una tendina per la porta della cucina. Quella porta è quella che porta alla lavanderia, uno spazio che spesso è disordinato e non molto bello da vedere, quindi ho deciso di nascondere la vista con una tenda all'uncinetto bella e colorata. Per questo progetto ho usato il filato Cotton8 del mio negozio in diversi colori e ho utilizzato il classico pattern granny square. Si abbina perfettamente al copribottiglia, non è vero?
Sto pensando di farne una più grande per la porta che, dalla lavanderia, porta al patio..mmm ..

Ikea Frosta DIY {House of Rym inspired}

The Ikea Frosta stool is one of my favourite pieces: it has a nice and simple design, the shape is minimal and it fits in any room. And the best part is that is very easy to customize {check here}.
For this DIY I decided to paint the top using a off white paint {a leftover from the one used for the stairs} and then decorate it with a graphic pattern. Looking for the right inspiration I came across a picture I made in Paris at Maison&Objet at the House of Rym exposition. The fir-trees pattern is exactly what I had in mind! I simply reproduced the design using a black lasting marker. Easy and effective!

Lo sgabello Ikea Frosta è uno dei miei pezzi preferiti: ha un design piacevole e semplice, la forma è minimal e si adatta a qualsiasi ambiente. E la parte migliore è che è molto facile da personalizzare {date un'occhiata qui}.

Per questo DIY ho deciso di dipingere la parte superiore con una pittura bianca {avanzata dai lavori per la scala} e poi decorare con un motivo grafico. Alla ricerca della giusta ispirazione mi sono imbattuta in una foto che ho fatto a Parigi durante Maison & Objet presso lo stand di House of Rym. Il pattern con gli abeti è esattamente quello che avevo in mente! Ho semplicemente riprodotto il disegno utilizzando un pennarello nero indelebile. Semplice e d grande effetto!

Hate/Love

Few days ago I made some pictures for a client. I bought some flowers, but since the palette was mostly red/orange/yellow, I had to buy something with these colors.
And {a part from yellow} I kind of hate these colors in my home, they make me nervous and I find them irritating. I so decided to use my pale pink vases and add some nice little pink flowers for a more delicate contrast. Much better!
Do you want to play a game? Apparently Enea is like mommy, can you find the two pictures where he joined the styling?

Qualche giorno fa ho fatto alcune foto per un cliente. Ho comprato dei fiori, ma dal momento che la palette era per lo più dominata da rosso/arancione/giallo, ho dovuto comprare qualcosa con questi colori.
E {a parte il giallo} io odio questi colori in casa mia, mi fanno innervosire e li trovo irritanti. Quindi ho deciso di usare i miei vasi rosa pallido e aggiungere alcuni piccoli fiori rosa per un contrasto più delicato. Molto meglio!
Vi va di fare un gioco? Apparentemente Enea è come la mamma, riuscite a trovare le due immagini dove si è unito allo styling?

New kitchen ideas

After all the works and efforts we put in the kitchen, I thought it was finally done. But I was wrong and I think it's time to open a new file.
The little breakfast corner is now used mostly from Enea, and in this period of his life is starting to eat by himself {at least he tries!}, so you can imagine the mess. I bought this plastic sheet for the floor from Ikea, but the wall is often dirty. So I'm evaluating a solution for that wall, how to protect it. I don't want to use tiles because I don't want to mix it with the pegboard; the wallpaper is not a good idea because I'm afraid the maintenance is worst than the wall as it is now. Paint that portion in a dark color {like black and maybe using the chalkboard paint} is out of question: I'm afraid the day I'll want to go back to white it will be a nightmare.
In the end I think the possible solution is one: use another piece of pegboard or plywood and paint it using the black chalkboard paint. To help to visualize the right solution {and to understand which portion of wall involve} I used Photoshop, and this is the result.
Would you like to help me to decide? Which solution do you prefer? Or maybe do you have other suggestions?

Dopo tutti i lavori e gli sforzi che abbiamo messo nella cucina, ad un certo punto ho pensato che fosse finalmente finita. Ma mi sbagliavo e credo sia arrivato il momento di aprire un nuovo file.
Il piccolo angolo colazione è ora utilizzato per lo più da Enea, e in questo periodo della sua vita sta cominciando a mangiare da solo {almeno ci prova!}, quindi potete immaginare il caos. All'Ikea ho comprato questo foglio di plastica per proteggere il pavimento, ma il muro è spesso sporco. Così sto valutando una soluzione per quel muro, come proteggerlo insomma. Non voglio usare piastrelle perché non voglio fare un mix con la vicina pegboard; una carta da parati non è una buona idea, perché ho paura che la manutenzione sia peggiore rispetto al muro come è adesso. Dipingere quella porzione di colore scuro {magari nero e utilizzando la vernice lavagna} è fuori discussione: temo che il giorno in cui vorrò tornare al bianco sarà un incubo.
Alla fine credo che la soluzione possibile sia una: utilizzare un altro pezzo di pegboard o di compensato e dipingerlo utilizzando la vernice lavagna nera. Per aiutarmi a visualizzare la giusta soluzione {e per capire quale parte di muro coinvolgere} ho usato Photoshop, e questo è il risultato.
Volete aiutarmi a decidere? Quale soluzione preferite? O forse avete altri suggerimenti?

A new king in the kitchen

I've always been the one in charge to prepare the meals, but it's almost a year that Alberto replaced me {I have to thank Enea for that}. And I don't complain, au contraire! He always liked to cook, but since I work from home, it was more easy for me to prepare while I was waiting for him to come back to work. As I said, at the beginning it was to help me with Enea, but now it's a mission! He likes to look for new recipes, use simple ingredients to make something special. He's mostly specialized in italian dishes, so he really appreciated the new Brabantia tools I got with the Nordic Love Christmas box. And I'm happy too because when I have to charge and discharge the dishwasher {yes, that's my "role" now - I feel like Daisy in the first series of Downton Abbey} at least I have something colorful to look at!
And speaking about the kitchen, don't miss tomorrow's post, I need your help to make an important decision!

Sono sempre stata l'addetta alla preparazione dei pasti, ma è quasi un anno che Alberto mi ha sostituito {devo ringraziare Enea per questo}. E non mi lamento, au contraire! A lui è sempre piaciuto cucinare, ma dal momento che io lavoro da casa, era più facile per me preparare mentre aspettavo che tornasse dal lavoro. Come ho detto, è iniziato tutto come un aiuto con Enea, ma ora è una missione! Gli piace cercare nuove ricette, utilizzare ingredienti semplici per fare qualcosa di speciale. Ovviamente va fortissimo sulla cucina italiana, quindi ha molto apprezzato i nuovi utensili Brabantia che ho ricevuto con la Nordic Love Christmas box. E sono felice anche io perché quando devo caricare e scaricare la lavastoviglie {ebbene sì, questo è il mio "ruolo" adesso - mi sento come Daisy nelle prime serie di Downton Abbey} almeno ho qualcosa di colorato da guardare!
E parlando della cucina, non perdetevi il post di domani, ho bisogno del vostro aiuto per prendere una decisione importante!

Five crochet projects I want to start right now!

If you crochet or knit, I think you will understand me: every time I start a new project my mind is already thinking what to make next. Sometimes the "need" is so powerful that I abandon what I'm making to start the other project. Is it the same for you?
And the fact to own a yarn shop is not helpful: I can access to what I need every time I want! I selected 5 projects I'd like to start with my yarn advises..what do you think?
Which one do you prefer?

Se lavorate all'uncinetto o a maglia, penso che mi capirete: ogni volta che inizio un nuovo progetto la mia mente sta già pensando cosa fare dopo. A volte il "bisogno" è così potente che abbandono quello che sto facendo per iniziare l'altro progetto. È lo stesso per voi?
E il fatto di possedere un negozio di filati non è utile: posso accedere a quello che mi serve ogni volta che voglio! Ho selezionato 5 progetti che mi piacerebbe iniziare con i miei consigli sul filato..che ne dite?

My knitting skills are very {but very, very} far from perfect, so what's the best thing to do if you want to improve? Exercise! I made this nice bunting because you know, they are never enough. I want to make a longer one with brighter colors to place it outside. And I'm already working on a new one to sell in my Etsy shop, so stay tuned ;)

Le mie capacità di lavoro a maglia sono molto {ma molto, molto} lontane dall'essere perfette, quindi qual è la cosa migliore da fare se si vuole migliorare? Esercizio! Ho realizzato questa bella ghirlanda perché lo sapete meglio di me, non sono mai abbastanza. Voglio farne una più lunga e con colori più brillanti per posizionarla fuori. Flea market style #12

Last week, with my parents I went to my favorite flea market.
It's a nice pastime, especially during the rainy days! I was looking for a nice flowerpot for a new plant and I found a terracotta one, that I painted using the pink spray paint. The other purchase is a little wooden carved bird: I fell in love for the pastel colors and the fact that is handmade makes it even more precious to my eyes.

La scorsa settimana, con i miei genitori sono andata al mio mercato delle pulci preferito.
È un bel passatempo, soprattutto durante i giorni di pioggia! Stavo cercando un bel portavaso per una nuova piantina e ne ho trovato uno di terracotta, che ho poi dipinto con la vernice spray rosa. L'altro acquisto è un uccellino in legno intagliato: mi sono innamorata dei colori pastello e il fatto che è realizzato a mano lo rende ancora più prezioso ai miei occhi.

Spring crochet cardi for Enea

Last week I made a warm and soft cardigan for Enea, a variation of this pattern.
I'm very pleased with the result, I wanted to make something that he can use as a jacket this spring. I was in doubt about adding a hood, but I think I will leave it like this..it's so nice I'm tempted to make one for me as well!

La settimana scorsa ho realizzato un caldo e morbido cardigan per Enea, una variante di questo modello.

February flowers

Last week my parents visited us to celebrate my mom's birthday.
Not a lucky week, as Enea was a bit sick because of the new teeth. But Saturday I had the chance to spend the all day with my mom: we went to Sissy Boy for lunch and we walked in every shop she liked. Alberto and Enea joined us for a couple of hours and my mom took this lovely picture of us.
These are the flowers I bought for her birthday.

La scorsa settimana i miei genitori ci hanno visitato per festeggiare il compleanno di mia mamma.
Non una settimana fortunata a dire il vero, visto che Enea ha avuto la febbre a causa dei nuovi dentini. Ma sabato ho avuto la possibilità di trascorrere tutto il giorno con la mia mami: siamo andate da Sissy Boy per il pranzo e siamo entrate in ogni negozio che le piaceva. Alberto ed Enea si sono uniti a noi per un paio d'ore e mia mamma ci ha scattato questa bella foto.

Nordic Love #5 {Ikea hack} :: #idastyle

Se mi seguite da un po' sapete bene quanto io ami Ikea. Ci vado almeno una volta al mese {è a 20 minuti dalla Happy House per buona pace del marito!} e spesso mi trovo con le amiche per un caffè e per sbirciare insieme le nuove collezioni. Ovviamente non se ne esce MAI a mani vuote, ma questo è un altro discorso...

Il primo appartamento che ho arredato {quello in cui mio marito ha vissuto per un paio di anni appena trasferito ad Eindhoven} era interamente Ikea. All'epoca non conoscevo i mercatini locali e gli altri negozi erano fuori budget. Il risultato era che spesso, invitati a casa di altri amici expat, ritrovavamo lo stesso tavolino, lo stesso letto, lo stesso cuscino. Credo che i primi Ikea hack siano proprio nati da qui: personalizzare un oggetto di uso comune e a basso costo e renderlo proprio e, per quanto possibile, unico.

Ora ci sono siti interamente dedicati a questa pratica e anche io ci ho messo del mio, personalizzando con nuovi colori {a proposito Ikea, che ne dici di continuare con i colori pastello?} e modificando per un risultato #IDAstyle.

Rainbow baby blanket

Every time I post a picture of my rainbow blanket, I always receive a lot of comments and positive feedbacks.
I decided to make a small version for a newborn baby, the size is perfect for the crib or the car seat {52 x 65 cm approx.}. The blanket is worked with soft acrylic and is washable at 30 degrees. You can find it here on my Etsy shop for a special price!

Ogni volta che posto una foto della mia coperta arcobaleno, ricevo sempre un sacco di commenti e feedback positivi.

Ho deciso di fare una versione mini per un neonato, la dimensione è perfetta per la culla o il seggiolino auto {52 x 65 cm circa.}. La coperta è lavorata con morbido acrilico ed è lavabile a 30 gradi. Potete trovarla qui nel mio negozio Etsy per un prezzo speciale!

Dream big baby #6: Bobo Choses

Lately {thanks also to my moms blogger friends} I'm more interested in kids fashion and I'm discovering a lot of interesting brands. My last find is the spanish company Bobo Choses, "a clothing brand that speaks the language that children speak"..how cool is that? I checked the website and I placed and order: I'm very pleased about the quality of the garments, the fabric and the design itself. They produce not only baby/kids clothes, but they also have a women section, although is not very easy to find on the website {I hope they will improve this section because I want to shop for me as well}. Plus, you can find home accessories and textiles. Happy shopping!

Ultimamente {grazie anche alle mie amiche mamme blogger} sono sempre più interessata ai vestiti per bambini e sto scoprendo un sacco di marchi interessanti. La mia ultima scoperta è la compagnia spagnola Bobo Choses, "un marchio di abbigliamento che parla il linguaggio che i bambini parlano".. che bellezza, vero? Ho dato un'occhiata al sito e ho piazzato l'ordine: sono molto soddisfatta della qualità dei capi, i tessuti e il design degli stessi. E non producono solo abbigliamento per neonati e ragazzi, ma hanno anche una parte dedicata alle mamme {e non!}, anche se non è molto facile da trovare sul sito {spero vivamente che possano migliorare questa sezione perché voglio fare acquisti anche per me}. Inoltre, è possibile trovare accessori per la casa e prodotti tessili. Felice shopping!

Let's bring on the spring :: MDM #IDAstyle

February is the shortest month of the year but it seems to be endless, don't you agree? We didn't had a very cold winter to be honest, but surely the lack of light is really difficult to handle after a while. But finally spring is approaching, I can see the first sprouts on the trees and the sun is more and more warm.
The Happy House is wearing new colors, take a look at what's new!
A lovely pink chair with a mid-century shape has been added to the dining table..I love it, especially in the contrast with the String shelf. In Enea's bedroom a foldable white and blue striped basket collects all his toys.
And also in the kitchen there are new things: a turquoise breakfast table, a ceramic jug with flowers {that I'm using to collect the cutleries} and a travel mug. I couldn't be more happy about all these new entries.. let's bring on the spring!

Febbraio è il mese più corto dell'anno, ma sembra essere senza fine, non siete d'accordo? Non abbiamo avuto un inverno molto freddo ad essere onesti, ma sicuramente la mancanza di luce è davvero difficile da gestire dopo un po'. Ma finalmente la primavera si avvicina, posso vedere i primi germogli sugli alberi e il sole è sempre più caldo.
E la Happy House indossa nuovi colori, date un'occhiata a ciò che c'è di nuovo!
Una bella sedia rosa dalle forme vintage è stata aggiunta al tavolo da pranzo..mi piace moltissimo, soprattutto in contrasto con la libreria String. Nella cameretta di Enea un cesto pieghevole a strisce bianche e blu raccoglie tutti i suoi giocattoli.
E anche in cucina ci sono cose nuove: un tavolino per la colazione turchese, una brocca in ceramica con fiori {che sto usando per gli attrezzi da cucina} e una tazza di viaggio. Non potrei essere più felice di tutte queste nuove aggiunte..avanti tutta con la primavera!

DIY bench & TipToe :: 3 styles

One of the thing I like most of my work is that I have the opportunity to collaborate with new brands, like TipToe, a french based company that produces legs adaptable to almost any surfaces. In this way you can create custom tables, benches, coffee tables and much more {can you imagine the possibilities?}; you can chose between 8 colors and two different sizes {40 cm or 75 cm}. Like I did! I used a piece of scrap wood and four small legs in three different colors: white, light grey and petrol blue. I made a nice bench and I tried three different styling. It can be very useful in an entryway for example, or as a play station for a toddler {the size of the small legs is perfect for Enea!} or again, as a "traditional" coffee table. What do you think? What's your favorite version?

Una delle cose che più mi piace del mio lavoro è che ho l'opportunità di collaborare con marchi emergenti, come ad esempio TipToe, una compagnia francese che produce gambe adattabili a quasi tutte le superfici. In questo modo è possibile creare tavoli personalizzati, panche, tavolini e molto altro ancora {avete idea delle infinite possibilità?}; è possibile scegliere tra 8 colori e due dimensioni diverse {40 cm o 75 cm}. Come ho fatto io! Ho usato un pezzo di legno di scarto e quattro piccole gambe in tre diversi colori: bianco, grigio chiaro e blu petrolio. Ho fatto una bella panchetta e ho provato tre diversi styling. Può essere molto utile in un ingresso per esempio, o come postazione gioco per un bambino {la dimensione delle gambette è perfetta per Enea!} o ancora, come tavolino "tradizionale". Che ne dite? Quale versione preferite?

Crochet tissue box cover

A cold can also be an opportunity to create something nice. Last week my boys were both sick and I decided to dress up the ugly tissue box to make it more fun and colorful. I didn't follow a pattern, but I mixed different instructions I found here and there. Much better now!

Un raffreddore può anche essere un'opportunità per creare qualcosa di bello. La scorsa settimana i miei ragazzi erano entrambi malati e ho deciso di vestire la brutta scatola dei fazzoletti di carta per renderla più divertente e colorata. Non ho seguito un modello, ma ho mescolato diverse istruzioni che ho trovato qua e là. Adesso è molto meglio!
