Gathering puts focus on bipolar illness in Muslim community:

"One in five people are affected by some form of mental illness.

That was the message conveyed by Saba Malik at a facilitated public discussion on bipolar illness held at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre on May 19.

Ms. Malik, a Montreal-based teacher, blogger, life-coach and author, was diagnosed with bipolar illness three years ago.

During her presentation, she spoke candidly about her illness and its impact before she was officially diagnosed.
"Highly educated and well-meaning people [said] that God was punishing me for something I had done, that I had weak character, I was a victim of someone's evil eye, and that I was possessed by evil spirits," stated Ms. Malik.

Because of her unusual behaviour as a result of her illness, rumours spread that she was a liar, impious, and dangerous. The disease took a toll on Ms. Malik’s personal life. She got married, but her husband did not understand what she was going through and divorced her after just three weeks of marriage. Hurtful gossip spread within the community, some of it suggesting that she had been divorced because she was barren.

Ms. Malik said she was in full denial for the first two years of her illness and only got the help she needed after consulting a sympathetic imam who advised her to see a doctor. She is now leading an active life and helping others in similar circumstances.

With professional help, she has risen above her illness and now spends her energy hosting an online mental health blog (www.morningwind.org) which seeks to offer a "support system for Muslims with mental illnesses like depression, bipolar [disorder], and schizophrenia."

"You can choose to be a victim or a victor," she said, "... You can see only what is directly in front of you or you see the sunshine and dig your way out."

Ms. Malik outlined some of the strategies she used to move forward, including: living a healthy lifestyle, daily prayer, living for God, and cultivating a sense of sacredness in her life.

Also present at the event was Bassam Elghawaby of Ottawa who was diagnosed with bipolar illness 13 years ago. Reflecting on his illness and experiences, Mr. Elghawaby, a poet, read his poem, Waiting for Tomorrow.

He explained that the poem was about "seizing your potential and striving to achieve your personal best in all of your goals.... There is also reflection on sin, mistakes, or misplaced time, the consequences that has on the present, and the complete reliance on Allah for His Mercy and offers of renewal."

Dr. Helen Ward of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group also spoke at the event. Together with the center's Chief of Social Work, Karen Poole, they discussed in some detail the various treatment options available for those diagnosed with bipolar illness. Dr. Ward's special interests include schizophrenia, mental disorder and violence, and medical leadership.

The event was part three in a series addressing mental health issues. The first session, held on Nov. 6, 2010, was entitled "Counselling: It’s okay to ask for help." Session two, held on Feb. 5, 2011, was on "Coping with Depression: Treatment and Prevention."

The Peace of Mind series was conceived by Chelby Marie Daigle and Farhat Rehman, two Muslim women whose lives have been affected by mental illness. The goal of the series is to challenge the stigma associated with mental illness among Muslims as well as educate members of Ottawa’s Muslim communities about mental health issues."

HELL IN THE ISLAMIC VIEW

Faith in the Day of Resurrection is an essential element of faith in Islam. Without faith in the Day of Judgement, one's faith will not be accepted. As is not acceptable if it does not believe in Allah, the angels of God, the books of His book, his apostles, and qadha qadar dariNya.Allah Subhannahu wa Ta'ala says: "... Those who disbelieve in Allah, angels, angels, the books of His book , his apostles, and the Last Day (of Resurrection), then surely that person has gone astray as far as possible. There are many other verses in the Qur'an which affirm the Day of Resurrection.

LAST DAY SIGNS
As for the signs of apocalypse, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam explained by several haditsnya. Among them:

"Behold apocalypse will not happen before the ten signs of doom, which sank in the East, sank in the west, sank in the Arabian Peninsula, the presence of smoke, coming of the Antichrist, Dabbah (large reptiles), Gog and Ma'juj , the rising sun from the west, out the fire from the tip of Aden which leads human beings, and the decline of the Prophet Jesus. "Dajjal will come to my people and lived for 40 years, and then God sent Jesus son of Mary, then he is looking for the Antichrist and destroy. Then for 70 years to live safe and peaceful man, there's no animosity between anyone. After that God the cold wind blew from the direction of the country Sham (now Syria, pen). So everyone who is in his heart there is virtue even of an atom, would meet his death. Even if if someone of you into the mountain, the wind would catch it and turn it off. Then the remaining bad guys live like wild beasts (FII khiffatit thoiri ahlaamis sibaa wa '), they do not know the goodness and do not deny kemungkaran. And the devil incarnate in them (men) and said: Would you grant? Man said: What would you tell us? Devil ordered them to worship idols, while they live in pleasure. Then the trumpet is blown. But one would not hear it unless the sharp hearing. And the people who first heard of a man who take care of his camel. The Prophet said: the death of all mankind. Then the rain came down like rain drizzle. Then the human body from there (from the grave-grave). Then the trumpet sounded again, then suddenly they stood waiting. And he said unto them, O people, come face to your Lord, and they are in Mahsyar because they will be required responsibilities. Then it is said unto them, Go ye as hell is brought up, then say it again: Of what? Then say again: Of every one thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine persons. That was the situation on the day the child become gray and calf revealed on the day (the Day of Judgement that describes people who want to run very scared because of the turmoil of Resurrection). "(Hadith Muslim History.)

Word of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam when berkhutbah:

"O people, that ye will be gathered of God in a state of naked feet, naked, in a state of foreskin (not circumcised). Remember that people who initially were given clothes are Ibrahim AS. Remember that there will be among my people who are seated on the left. When I say: O Lord, (they are) my best friend. Then God says: You do not know what they do after your (death). "(Muslim).

LIABILITY

Regarding the accountability act, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:

"On the Day of Judgement, every servant will not move before asked four things of life to what he spent, his knowledge to what he resume practicing, he gained his wealth from where and for what he spent, and (health) body to what he used. Ibn Juraij say about this verse: "The first is Jahannam, then hell Ladza, Huthamah hell, hell Sa'ir, hell Saqar, Jahim and Hawiyah".

"They were in a closed meeting in hell." (Surah Al-Balad: 20).

He replied, "They Kufr against their husbands, Kufr against goodness-kindness. Even if you do good to any one of them for a long time then he sees something in you (which she did not like), surely he would say, 'I have never seen the slightest good to yourself.' "(Narrated by Bukhari from Ibn Abbas radliyallahu 'anhuma)

If that is the situation then was lost the women who Kufr and rebellious against her husband. They prefer the road to hell rather than heaven because they follow mere lust.
The road to heaven is not decorated with beautiful flowers, but through heavy obstacles and steep. But remember at the end of this road God promises heaven to those who wait to take it.
Meanwhile, the road to hell is full of seductive beauty and every man is attracted to it by you. However, be aware that at the end of this road, hell has been welcomed with a variety of punishment.

Bershadaqahlah! Because charity is one way to save you from hell adzab. May Allaah save us from adzabnya.

Ibn Al Jauziyah Qoyyim say that there are ten things that are not useful.

1: Having knowledge but not practicing.

2: charity but not ikhlash and did not follow the guidance of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.

3: Have a property but are reluctant to infaq. Property from being used for useful things in the world and also no precedence for the sake of the hereafter.

4: The Heart is empty of love and longing in God.

5: a neglected body of the faithful and devoted to God.

6: Love in which there is no blessing of the beloved and love who would not obey his commandments.

7: The time is not filled with kindness and approach to God.

8: The mind is always spinning on things that are not useful.

9: Work that does not make you more devoted to God and also does not fix your world affairs.

10: Fear and a sense of hope at the creature that he himself is in the grip of God. The creature can not let go of the danger and bring benefits to himself, nor can it turn on and off and can not turn the dead.

That's ten things that neglect and futile. Among the ten most dangerous things and is the origin of all kinds of negligence are two things: the heart that is always neglected and wasted time.
Hearts will make a person who fails to give priority to the world than the Hereafter, so she tends to follow the passions. While wasting time would make one long delusion.

The word trust a root with the word faith, safe. In surah Al-Mu'minun: 8 God says that among the characteristics of Paradise is to maintain trust. Ustadz Quthub Sayid explains in his commentary, the purpose of the trust in the verse is the mandate of faith. From here we get a few lessons:
First, that maintaining trust is part of faith. It called into question one's faith is often treacherous act, did not carry out the mandate as it should. Because of that Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, explained that the human traits between hypocrites are: "If talking is lying, if violated, and if credible promise betrayed." From this it appears that the issue of trust-any name-: position, wealth, children etc. , it will certainly be justified in the sight of Allah swt.
That's what makes Omar bin Khaththab uneasy sleep when the mandate given to her leadership. Omar was always crying, even if all its people have enjoyed the fruits of justice that he straighten. Crying out of fear that later in the day of Judgement discovered that there is a horse that slipped fell due to a hole in the road that he has not been fixed. Umar felt that they must turn to God to account. Awareness like this is supposed to be owned by every leader of the mandate so he endured.
Remember that people choose to be disejahterakan, not contrived increasingly suffer. So every suffering of the people later in the day of Judgement will certainly dipikulkan by God to the leader.
Second, that in order to carry out the mandate honestly needed a strong faith. Faith that God saw everything that he does, then he carefully for fear of Him. Faith that the world is not everything, but will be destroyed and will be replaced with natural Hereafter. That's where every man will stand trial before God is All-Knowing, then he earnestly carry out the mandate it. If a person really believe in the meaning of this mandate, there is no trust that was betrayed.
It has been proven in history, that the destruction of a country and humanity are stranded kerana moral rottenness of its leaders in maintaining the trust. Remember that all facilities to meet human needs in a balanced way God has provided. There's no way God mendzalimi His creatures. So if it found gaps here and there it was inevitable because of the kedzaliman that done by the man himself.
True, this world does not need a lot of grandeur and human expertise. The world is God fill all amenities. For years people have been living on earth. And proved that God does provide all human needs. Based on this, this world is actually only need one word: "fairness" (keep the trust). If this quality is lost from human behavior, not in hope keseimabangan life will go well, regardless of expertise and excellence achieved by human technology.
Third, the trust said synonymous with the word safe. This suggests that maintaining the trust and run it well is synonymous with providing security to humanity. In contrast to betray the trust is synonymous with spreading anxiety for humanity.
If a householder does not mandate the household must be residents will not get a sense of security. His wife and children would be tercekan anxiety of all time. More broadly, if a village leader is not trustworthy, definitely the whole village will feel miserable. Larger, if a district or provincial leaders are not trustworthy, it can be ascertained that all the people in the district or the province would stagger, fall in the abyss of infinity. Then imagine what would happen to a country when the leaders of the country and the whole range of kebinetnya not trustworthy? And Allaah knows best bishshawab.

If you want to know human nature, look at the behavior of motorists in the streets, all vying to precede the other, very few who deliberately conceded to give opportunity to others. Merahpun lights are often ignored if the driver appears to be no police there. What was the result of selfish behavior?

The result was a traffic jam that cause suffering to many. Indeed in the system of life, for the welfare of living together is required sacrifice from certain parties. For perkawinanpun party apparently there must be a chicken or a goat was sacrificed, there is a chef who had not slept since yesterday, there is a committee that worked hard, and so on. Our country stands partly thanks to the sacrifices of the heroes of the nation.

If no one is willing to sacrifice herself pihakpun then jammed into a living system, will turn into kesumpekan comfort. In religion, the willingness to sacrifice for others is called itsar priority. Giving priority to other people despite themselves in difficult circumstances is the culmination of virtue. The virtue of this, as it is called al-Qur'an, exemplified by the inhabitants of the city of Yathrib (Ansor friends) towards refugees (Muhajirin) from Makkah, Madinah that although people living in trouble (though kana bihim khashashah), but they give priority to helping refugees came from Makkah (Muhajirin). With the spirit that's ultimately itsar two communities, namely Ansor and Muhajirin, under the guidance of the Apostle successfully acted as the main pillars of building a civil society, and the city of Yathrib was renamed Medina al Munawwarah (high cultured society of the enlightened).

Willingness to sacrifice for the common welfare is indeed a characteristic of high cultured society. Political power all out to maintain its position while pressing down the opportunity of political aspirations opponent, big businessmen exploit all economic opportunities out to the edge while pressing the small economic opportunities, the bureaucrats, it focuses on personal interst, closing the eyes of the disaster that struck the nation, all exactly like the behavior of motorists and traffic on the streets.

The peak of selfishness that is causing the present life is like a traffic jam, jam the political, economic loss and loss of culture. All complained about drugs, but all helpless to do anything, all television broadcasts complained about a very vulgar pornography, but as there's no way to stop it, all complaining about the national pride being trampled, but everything just stopped in to complain, even all complained about the national leadership, but all stuck in a political impasse.

To avoid congestion, have opened many alternative roads, traffic signs should be placed in strategic places and their effectiveness must be guaranteed by law. So also in life in general. Catharsis window must be open, fair system must be running, and bias to the weak must be embedded in sistem.Untuk lead to it there must be certain parties that must be prepared to make sacrifices. 1. Eating and Drinking With Intentionally

Allah the Exalted says: "... and eat and drink until the white thread of light to you from the black thread of dawn. Then complete the fast until the (coming) night. "(Surat al-Baqara: 187).
-Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said: "If (the fasting) forgot, and did eat and drink, he must complete his fast, for Allah who gave him food and drink." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
-Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said: "Verily Allah placed (not punish) due to wrong or forget my people and of being forced." (Narrated Ath-Thahawi, Al-Hakim etc with isnaad valid).

2. Vomiting With Intentionally

-Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said: "Whoever is forced to throw up (not intentionally), it is not obligatory for him to making up those fasting, and they vomit on purpose, it is obligatory for him to making up those fasting." (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Abu Dawud with a sahih isnaad)

3. Menstruation and Puerperal

-Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said about women: "Is not if he does not pray and menstruation are not fasting?" We say: "Yes." He said: "That (the evidence) is less religion." (Narrated by Muslim)

The man answered: "No.
"The Messenger, sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said:" Sit down. "He too sat down.
Then there are those that bring a container dates to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam. -Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said, "charitable to him."

6. Removing Water Mani with intentionally

7. Berbekam / Cantuk / Hijamah, Treatment How to Remove Blood Gross Prophet

-Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa' Ala Alihi wa sallam said: "It has to break the fast (fast is void) and the people who membekam dibekam" (Narrated by Imam Ahmad and Abu Dawud).

When we are hurt by those we usually want to repay those who hurt us. Our hearts are littered with revenge lust. Our hearts often speaks in his own words, 'You are causing me like this! I will reply to your deeds! I will destroy you! Allaah reminded how noble people who can forgive.

'And for people who, when they were treated with dzalim they defended themselves. And replies of a similar crime it is he who forgives and then the reward for doing good God. Verily He loveth not those who do dzalim. (Surat ash-Syuura: 39-40).

When you are hurt by people you love or someone else then you are among those given by God's grace because the person who abused actually tested at the same time given a great reward by Allah. It gives us a choice exams, first, we'll return to their deeds or we forgive him. If we are able to be patient and forgiving God bestow immense reward.

It's hard to forgive someone who has hurt us, but try to forgive, God willing, our hearts find satisfaction and happiness. Even God was pleased that we are turning to prayer mengijabah. 'Take care of you, do not persecute others because of the prayers of the oppressed there is no longer a barrier between himself and God. " (Narrated by Muslim).

When you're hurt by someone else or didzalimi then God opened the door to your wish come true prayer. So redeeming the opportunity to pray and ask God to be able to reach the glory and happiness in our lives.

Friday is the most important day of all days in a week. He is a blessed day. Allah the Exalted, specializing in this Friday for Muslims from all the people of the ummah, ummah earlier. And among the several virtues and blessings of this glorious day is as follows:
First, there are many hadith that explain the primacy and glory of the day Friday. Among the hadith narrated by Imam Muslim from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi yours respectfully said:
"The best of the day when the sun rises at the time was on Friday. On this day Adam was created, the day when he entered into heaven and days when he was expelled from paradise. And the Day of Judgement will not happen except on Friday. "(HR.Muslim)
From Abu Hurairah and Hudhaifah radhiallahu 'Mas'ood:
"Allah distorts us from the prior Friday. So to the Jews is on Saturday, while for the Christians is Sunday, then Allah brought us and showed us to a Friday. "(Narrated by Muslim)
And other hadeeth which indicates the primacy of Friday and its privileges in the appeal of other days.
1. Among the blessings of the day Friday, that in it there are times when the kabulkannya pray.
In the ash-Shahihain have narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi mensebut Friday yours respectfully, then he said:
"On Friday there was one time that if a Muslim to pray in it, and beg something to Allah Ta'ala, his request would be granted. 'Then he motioned with his hand membari which indicates at least that time." (HR.Bukhari and Muslim)

First, that the time had started from his seat until the implementation of the Friday prayer imam. Among theses is the hadeeth narrated by Imaam Muslim in the book Shahihnya,
From Abu Burdah ibn Ali Musa al-Ash'ari radhiallahu 'anhu that Abdullah ibn Umar radhiallahu' anhuma said to him, "Did you have heard your father narrated the hadith of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi yours respectfully in relation to the time of approval on Friday? Then Abu Burdah said, 'I replied,' Yes, I heard my father say that, 'I heard the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi yours respectfully said, 'That is the time between his seat until the prayer the priest performed.' "(Narrated by Muslim)
Among those who strengthens this argument is the Imam an-Nawawi, may Allaah have mercy. In fact, she says, "This opinion is saheeh, even shawaah (true)," (Nawawi li Syarhul Muslim Shahiih VI/140-141). Meanwhile, Imam al-Suyuti may Allaah have mercy determine the time in question (with time) is when the prayer is established. "(Minutes of FII Khashaa Nuurul Lum'ah-ishil Jumua)

As mentioned in al-Saheeh from Salman al radhiallahu'anhu Pharisees, He said that the Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said:
"It is not someone take a bath on Friday, and he could ablutions, greasy with oil or rubbing perfume from the house, then exit (towards the mosque), and he does not separate the two people (who were sitting side by side), then he set up an appropriate prayer with tuntunannya, then she quietly listened to (carefully) when the priest berkhutbah but will be at the mercy (of his sins that happened) between Friday and since e is next Friday. "(Narrated by Bukhari)
While in Saheeh Muslim, there are an additional three days, from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi yours respectfully. He said:

In the hadith narrated by Muslim that the Messenger of Allaah disebiutkan whoever:
"Prayers fardhu five times to the Friday prayers next Friday, and Ramadan to Ramadan next eliminate the sins committed in between that time if he stay away from major sins." (Narrated by Muslim)
In this hadith Zahir there are requirements to keep al kabaa-ir (major sins) in order to achieve the priority of the death of small sins.
3. Another Blessing is held on Friday that in it there is a big priority for anyone who hasten to go to the mosque for Friday prayers in the morning.
In a hadith ash there Shahihain Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi yours respectfully said:
"Whoever makes a bath on Friday like the bath and went kemasjid janabat, it seemed to sacrifice with a fat camel, and whoever is left at the second hour, would be as if he sacrificed a cow, and they go on the clock the third, would be as if he sacrificed a horned sheep, and whoever is left at the fourth hour as if he sacrificed with a chicken, and whoever is left at the fifth hour then as if he sacrificed with an egg. And if the priest has come out (for berkhutbah), then the Angels were present while listening to dhikr (advice / warnings). "(Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
