Top 5 Ways to Watch Your Wedding in High Definition

Planning for the wedding of your dreams is step one, but having a luxury wedding film to help remember the wedding day memories and share them with friends and family is key. So once your wedding has been preserved on video, there are a couple options on how to get and store your video. Here are a couple examples that can aid you in making the best choice.

Watching over the Internet: This is a popular form of video delivery and is widely used everyday. Youtube, Vimeo, and Facebook are just a few of the popular sites that allow video streaming. The advantages are that the video is delivered in its best quality and can be watched online, and even downloaded and stored on your computer. This form of delivery is great for those clients with broadband internet access, and who want to share their video online via Facebook, email, etc.

Blu-Ray Disc: Blu-ray is considered the highest form of watching HD video from a disc. Blu-Ray players are relatively cheap, and offer the advantage of being able to watch your wedding video on your 55-inch plasma or LCD TV. We definitely recommend this type of disc over the traditional DVD, which is only for standard definition video.

USB or Hard Drive: You can definitely watch your wedding video right on your television from a USB or hard drive. How? Many of the newer television models have USB ports built directly into the front or side of the TV. So, all you need to do is plug in your USB storage device or hard drive, and BAM! What if you have an older television without one of these ports? There are numerous devices available at your local Best Buy or Radio Shack that allows you to do the same. Ask your wedding filmmaker about some of these options that include Apple TV, Sony media player, or Western Digital media player.

Now that you have your wedding video, what is the best means of storing it?

Hard Drive: If you have a digital copy of your wedding video as well as a Blu-ray or DVD disc, you’ll need a way to store it. Keeping your wedding video on the hard drive of your computer also has a few advantages. It means you can access and readily stream your video to others over the internet and even post it on YouTube or other video servers. The problem is what do you do if the hard drive crashes? Even the best, most reliable computers can crash and take your wedding video down with it. So, it is best to keep your wedding film stored on you main drive of your computer, and an external hard drive for backup purposes.

1. Talented wedding filmmakers’ schedules fill up fast, so book early
Once you have scheduled a wedding date, you should waste no time in starting your search for your videographer. The most talented ones are booked heavily in advance, so make shopping for a videographer a top priority.

2. Ask friends and family for referrals
People will often talk about what went wrong at their wedding, and what vendors NOT to use, but most satisfied clients don’t talk enough about the amazing vendors! How do you find out about the good ones if no one is talking? Just ask! I’m sure once you start asking around, you’ll find a few people you know who were delighted with their wedding film.

3. Check out magazines and blogs
Don’t look for the big budget companies who advertise here! Rather; seek out the sections of the magazine or blog that are dedicated to showcasing the “real weddings.” Magazines will showcase the photographer’s pictures from the wedding and also list other vendors who worked on the wedding, such as the videographer, and blogs can showcase both the video and photographs from the event. These “real wedding” features are handpicked by the editor and feature only the best and most unique vendors.

4. Search the internet

Jumping the Broom - Philadelphia Wedding Videographer

Jumping the Broom is a new movie about two very different families converging on Martha's Vineyard one weekend for a wedding. The title of the film refers to a ceremony tradition, in which the bride and groom, either at the ceremony or at the reception, signify their entrance into a new life and their creation of a new family by symbolically "sweeping away" their former single lives, former problems and concerns, and jumping over the broom to enter upon a new adventure as wife and husband.

We had the pleasure of being introduced to this tradition in September of 2009, during the wedding ceremony of Sharee and Leonard. After some digging through our archived videos, I finally found this sample. We filmed this wedding in a Philadelphia area town in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, at The Riverdale Manor. It was an amazing venue, and an even more amazing wedding! Enjoy the clip, and in you are thinking about including The Jumping of the Broom tradition into your wedding ceremony, pay close attention to it being done at the end of the video.

John's Hopkins - Sol Goldman Pancreatic Cancer Research Center

Absolute Media Productions proudly donates 10% of all sales to the Sol Goldman Pancreatic Cancer Research Center at John's Hopkins in memory of a dear friend.

This cutting edge Cancer Center published an exciting article earlier this year showing how investigators have sequenced all known human genes in a series of ten pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas (also known as islet cell tumors and endocrine tumors).

This paper is exciting for three reasons:
1. The investigators found that one-sixth of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas have mutations in genes coding for proteins in the mTOR pathway. There are drugs currently available (rapalogues such everolimus) that specifically target the mTOR pathway. The findings suggest that doctors should be able select only those patients who will benefit from an mTOR inhibitor (patients whose tumors have a mutation in the mTOR pathway), while sparing patients who would not benefit because their tumors do not have mutations in this pathway.

2. The investigators discovered a new cancer pathway. They discovered mutations in two genes (ATRX and DAXX) that have not been reported before in any tumor. These are exciting as they provide insight into the fundamental biology of neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas, and, as scientists learn more about the function of these genes, we hope completely novel therapies.

3. The scientists found that tumors with both ATRX/DAXX mutations and mutations in another gene (MEN-1) have a significantly better prognosis than do tumors that lack these mutations.
The center believes that this sequencing project represents a significant advance in the war against pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. The results have both immediate and long-term impact.

Free Wedding Video - Roman Jewelers Free Wedding Contest Video

Wow! What an amazing event that was put on by Roman Jewelers and New Jersey Bride this past Saturday. Auditions were held to determine the 10 finalists who will have an opportunity to win a dream wedding valued at $100,000, and we were there to document it all! Below is a short video of the event, and now we can look forward to finding out how these couples will start the process of raising funds and awareness for charities. LOCAL VIDEOGRAPHY STUDIO IS A PARTNER IN CHARITABLE WEDDING CONTEST

Philadelphia, PA – Absolute Media Productions has partnered with Roman Jewelers of Flemington and Bridgewater, New Jersey to give away a free wedding.

Unlike other wedding giveaways, “The Roman Jewelers Wedding presented by New Jersey Bride” magazine combines romance with philanthropy. The contest is designed to help New Jersey charities raise funds and awareness in tough economic times.

In order to win, contestants must do ‘good’ for others by developing and implementing “Good Deed Plans,” or philanthropic initiatives for one of the ten Charitable Partners involved in the event.

Finalist couples will work to make a difference for one of the following non-profit organizations: Make-A-Wish Foundationâ of New Jersey, Special Olympics New Jersey, Anderson House, Woodlands Wildlife Refuge, America’s Grow-a-Row, The Arc of Hunterdon, Hunterdon Art Museum, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, SAFE in Hunterdon and the Hunterdon County YMCA.

The winning couple will be announced at Flemington’s Renaissance Plaza in October. They will be chosen based on the couple’s love story, their dedication to helping others, the impact they’ve had on charity and the results of their Good Deed.

Their prize: a completely free luxury wedding provided by 16 generous Romantic Partners, a group of premier wedding vendors that includes Jerry and Robert Frungillo, stars of TLC’s “Masters of Reception” TV show.

Absolute Media Productions, based in Philadelphia and New Jersey will donate their services by providing the winning couple with an award winning wedding film. “Their video will have all the bells and whistles,” says Damon Dietz, owner of Absolute Media Productions.

Just as the competing couples will have to focus on creating a completely original “Good Deed Plan” for their charity, Absolute Media Productions will produce a highly creative and stylized video for the lucky winner. The studio avoids producing the typical traditional style wedding video, leaning more towards delivering an artistic, modern and edgy film. Each finished piece is always representative of a client’s individual personality and style.

Congratulations Stephanie & Zac!! This wedding was extra special to me because it was my younger brother getting married, and I have a guest appearance as the best man. It was such an amazing day... beautiful ceremony in the garden, elegant reception, and of course family and friends. The wedding took place at the beautiful Shadowbrook, in Shrewsbury, NJ.
