a heart drowned in virgin olive oil
sentimental suffocation of a sophisticated kind

heavy, greasy, burdensome feelings
thick film allowing no release into oxygen

total body weight: several pounds above normal
sugary sweet levels: borderline extinct

miss sourly having never fully loved
bitter memories seem to leave an aftertaste like bile

once life was a strawberry dipped in cream
now it's slow-cooked heart confit

wish it were whole as whole-wheat, plentiful as grapevine
matured raw in one piece as fine French cheese

but it's broken sugar caramel, crystallized useless syrup

everyone should see a nautilus swim...

once, it could be healthy to tell your idols that you quit idolizing them...
