Jan.2008 update

Its been awhile since I updated. I occasionally get emails or comments on here from other parents dealing w/ frontal lobe epilepsy and its nice to know that some of our experiences help others. Hannah is still having brief seizures nightly. She is now on 300mg Topamax and 800 mg Carbitrol. It was pretty rough for about 3 months after starting the topamax. We had brought her off of a high dose of keppra and since you have to move so slowly raising the topamax she just wasn't covered seziure wise. Han began having weird episodes during the day that involved not understanding language

It took a few weeks but we were able to wean Han off the Lamictal and after 10 days off it her seizures returned to her previous frequency (about one an hour while sleeping). Whew! Our neuro has now added Keppra to her trileptal...
