Guests will enjoy watching horseback riders and seeing live buffalo all while enjoying some barbecue pork loin, corn-on-the-cob and veggie soup, a meal that has become a staple in Branson. The show features a competition between the two “Civil War” sides of the theater with 32 horses, their talented riders, music and seating in the 35,000-square-foot arena.
New for the 2020 schedule is the “Rumble in the Treetops” showcase! During this feature of the Stampede Dinner Attraction, guests will watch lumberjacks face off in a head-to-head challenge that tests their strength and agility. This relay-style competition features four different events.

Let’s talk about safety. In a COVID-19 world, it’s important to know that you’re safe while still out enjoying yourself. The event space has structured its seating to allow 6 feet separation between each party and have reduced seating capacity to less than 50%. They are cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces before, during and in between all performances and are deep cleaning the entire facility every night after closing. All staff interacting with guests will wear facemasks and guests are required to wear facemasks when entering, moving around and exiting the facility. Hand sanitizing stations will be available for guest use throughout the facility.

All guests will be asked three questions provided by the CDC and have their temperature checked before entering the facility. If the guest or anyone in their party has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher, or answers yes to any of the following questions, they will not be permitted to enter: Have you or a member of your party been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19? Are you or a member of your party experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat? Have you or a member of your party had a fever in the last 48 hours?

The annual Harvest Festival at Silver Dollar City is scheduled for September 23 – October 31 and is a treat for all ages.

During the day, visitors can enjoy the park’s roller coasters, rides, and live shows, With more than 40 rides and attractions, plus over 60 unique shops, the park itself is a fantastic family adventure. However, with the addition of the Craft Days during the Harvest Festival, visitors can watch craftsmen and artisans create a variety of crafts and goods before your eyes!

At night, the park transforms with thousands of glowing pumpkins, larger-than-life size scarecrows, cats and owls and even a nightly dance party.

The park is also taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of guests including:

• Daily capacity will be limited. Season Passholder Reservations are required and date-based tickets will be available for general admission.
• Face masks or face coverings are required for all visitors over the age of three.
• Temperature screenings will be taken prior to entry.
• Attraction and dining capacities will be limited to allow guests to have more space.
• Distancing measures have been put in place including queues, marked barriers and social distancing reminders.
• Additional sanitation measures have been implemented including frequent cleaning of high touch point areas and providing additional hand sanitizing locations.

Missouri’s Tax-Free Weekend takes place every year at the beginning of August. Missouri’s average tax rate is typically set at 4.225% meaning shoppers can save big on the back-to-school shopping list. And, maybe get an item or two for mom and dad as well!

The tax saving holiday is scheduled this year for August 7-9 and, considering Branson has some of the best shopping around, you’ll definitely want to take advantage! Eligible items include footwear, backpacks, art supplies, notebooks, computer accessories, computer software, calculators and other supplies. During the weekend, shoppers can save by not having to pay the state tax portion of 4.225% on their purchases of these items.

It’s the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors in Branson. The weather is warm, the water is cold, and the activities are plentiful. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, bass and trout fishing, hunting, trap and skeet shooting, spelunking, rock climbing and other recreational activities in the Ozarks. 

Hiking/Geocaching

There are several open and gorgeous hiking trails worth visiting. The Mark Twain National Forest is home to Piney Creek Wilderness and the Hercules Glades Wilderness, which offer some of the most scenic country in the area. Visitors have more than 75,000 acres of national forest in Stone and Taney Counties. 

What is “geocaching?” It’s a high-tech scavenger hunt game using GPS coordinates. There are a vast number of treasure locations in the Branson/Lakes Area. Interested players can visit https://geocaching.com and get a list of waypoints, or latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates, representing cache locations in the Branson/Lakes Area.

Ziplining

Are you a thrill seeker? Ziplining is a great way to get that adrenaline pumping! There are a variety of zipline adventures available in the Branson area. The most popular choice for ziplining in the area is the Branson Zipline Canopy Tours. They offer tours which traverse a series of ziplines interconnected via sky bridges, walkways and platforms. Indian Point Zipline features six ziplines that offer awe-inspiring views of Table Rock Lake. They are currently offering a Groupon deal, so take advantage while supplies last! Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline is a little more laid back. Unlike traditional ziplines, there is no harness or gear. Visitors just sit back in the chair and buckle up. And you don’t have to take the tour alone! Parakeet Pete’s features side-by-side seats so you can share the experience.  

Balloon Adventure

Parakeet Pete’s also offers guests a unique hot air balloon experience. The Steam Punk Balloon lets you float 188 feet above Branson Landing where you get a 360-degree bird’s eye view of Lake Taneycomo and the Ozark Mountains. Branson Balloon offers the experience of viewing the Ozarks from above.

If you’re more of a relaxed adventurer, Branson is home of some of the most stunning, award-winning golf courses in the nation. With courses suitable for every skill level, there’s no shortage of green for the novice and experienced player.

A trip to Branson isn’t complete without some adventurous thrill rides. There’s no better way to experience them than at Bigfoot Fun Park. 

Located just a quick 10 minute drive from the campground, Bigfoot Fun Park is located between Branson’s Theater District and the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area, giving Bigfoot explorers a one-of-a-kind view from the top of many rides. 

One such ride is the Bigfoot Gravity Bomb. Riders will experience a scenic ride to the top of the 200-foot tower before being dropped into a heart-pounding free fall to the bottom. 

If the height of the Gravity Bomb seems right up your alley, make your way over to the Bigfoot Super Sling. This tower sits at 200 feet in the air as well but rather than experiencing a straight down descent, riders will be seated back-to-back and shot straight up into the air. After a few swings, flips and circles you’ll feel as if you’re flying! 

For a more relaxing adventure, head over to the Ozark Expedition Tours. Experience three different tours of the Ozarks, from mild to wild, all from the seats of a 4×4 safari truck. Visitors will be taking on a off-road tour through the hills, get up close and personal with some local cows, and join the local Bigfoot Research Team. Tours last around 90 minutes and are family friendly. 

Bigfoot Fun Park features activities for all ages including mini golf, arcade games, an entertainment maze and more. Whether you’re traveling with the family or just a kid at heart, the park is a fun-filled adventure for everyone.
