The Lubbock Police Department had their latest auction last November 12, 2011. The auction started at 10am and took place at the Lubbock Wrecker Service, 3209 Slaton Highway.

The department displayed and auctioned over 100 to 150 abandoned vehicles. The same number of cars and vehicles are sold and auctioned every month. Few of the cars that were on auction on November 12 were as follows: Honda/Acura Civic ’95, Ford Taurus ’93, Pontiac Bonneville ’99, Ford Escort ’01, Dodge 1500 ’94, Chevrolet Baretta ’93 and Chevrolet Venture van ’02.

The department proposed rules that bidders were required to follow. All bidders were obligated to register before 10:30 and auction gates were opened Saturdays until 6:30pm. This was for the buyers to have extra time to pull their cars out. They were also given stickers with their individual bid numbers on it for them to wear on the said auction day. Furthermore, the bidders were allowed to bring along only up to two guests.

The auction was made successful and peaceful with the help of police officers that stayed on the auction the whole day. There were also several police video cameras and Lubbock Wrecker’s video cameras for easier look out on what was happening on the location.

Vehicles that are sold in Police auctions are basically vehicles that are vacated and discarded for a long period of time. People are requested to call on local officers if ever they get to see abandoned vehicles. The officers will then check on the vehicles and investigate whether or not they are abandoned or were left unattended for some valid reasons. The money that is produced from auctions is mostly used as funds. Like other government auctions, the money is used for public repairs and improvements.

There are also online auctions that people can transact with. One of the most reliable and known auction sites is eBay. EBay is actually renowned because it sells almost anything under the sun which includes school materials, office materials, furniture, gadgets, clothes and cars. Although there are a lot of cheap auctioned items online, typical auctions are still highly suggested because it is easier and safer to know the real quality of the items when one can see it personally.

As for the people in Lubbock, TX, they do not need to look further because the police department holds auctions every month.Similar Posts:

The City of Danville have organized a public auction at the Public Safety Building’s east parking lot, 2 E. South St. last November 5, 2011.

Those who are searching for affordable supplies, furniture and even old police cars visited the said location to check on the items on auction. The government officials themselves chose, examined and approved the items on auction for assurance of quality despite of being second hand items.

The city auction started at 10 am and just like other auctions, Danville included various items for bidding. These included metal lockers, floor tiles, computer equipment, pine panelling, auto floor sweepers, mobile radios, around 25 year old-public works vehicles, and police vehicles from the year 2002. There were also house decorations like Christmas trees, Christmas tree decorations, storage shelves, lamps, cabinet dividers, and handmade wooden podium.

These items came from public places like parks, public transportation, city hall, engineering and public works departments, police station and motor vehicle parking system. Although these are materials owned by the community, the funds can still be recovered through the public auction. Not only that, the city has also organized online auctions through eBay, which is the most renowned auction site the internet domain currently have. The city’s account on eBay offers not only household items and office materials but they also offer old buses and other transportation vehicles.

The computer system and information on the police cars were also removed according to Public Safety Director Larry Thomason. Thus, the said police vehicles were returned to their basic settings just like they were new. He also added that the computer equipment and printers that they have handled went through numerous upgrades and too many changes. However, he also admitted that they have planned on replacing their computers and alternate them.

Furthermore, Mayor Scott Eusenhauer was confident that the city will be able to raise around $20,000 to $25,000 through its auction. The estimated money earned from the auction will be used as a general fund. However, if the items are purchased from enterprise funds, then the payment of such items will just go back to where it came from. Enterprise Funds pertain to those that are self-sufficient, such as the sewers, the Harrison Park, and the solid waste.

With all the possibilities that this auction gave, people have certainly found what they were looking for and even bought them on the best price.Similar Posts:

The online site PropertyRoom.com turned New York City’s typical Police auction into a more convenient and accessible auction.

The auction site is owned by Tom Lane, a former police officer. According to Lane, he was able to build the site successfully because of his past experiences as a police officer. He said that the usual Police auction they had back in 1970’s was tiring and complicated. Lane stated that they would need to check on all the items in the property room and mark each one for identification on whether the items are for auction, disposal or return.

Lane also admitted that although the work was still the same, he was already doing it for a huge number of 2,000 police departments in all 47 states in the US. This means that the range of his business is greater than the usual. He said that one good thing about online auctions is that the bidders will be able to know if the items are original and in a good quality.

Old typical auctions do not assure the good quality of the items because they are not validated. Unlike the innovated type of auction, bidders will be able to know if the items are authentic or fake. Counterfeit designer clothes, bags, and the like are damaged and rejected. Each piece will be checked and the details that will be provided will surely be reliable.

On online auctions, most bidders however, search for items like stolen musical instruments, television sets, bicycles and the likes. This is not a problem for Lane’s site because the PropertyRoom auction site possesses almost everything, even the weirdest items like X-ray machines, dental machines, and colonoscopy machines.

Moreover, items on online auctions mostly start at $1 and rise every time a bidder bids. This is why some people consider online auction expensive because when some are already online, these people do not really notice how plenty their bids and items to be bought are.

Although having a starting price of $1 is indeed cheap, critics still think that the typical auctions are better than those online. This is because in the usual auctions, bidders will be able to personally see the quality of the items unlike those in online auctions wherein one will only rely on write ups, comments and reviews. However, online auctions are better than those typical ones mainly because they are capable of reaching hundreds to thousands of people. Basically, with this kind of arrangement, the NY’s police auction will certainly be able to extend help in its lowest price.Similar Posts:

Seattle will have another Public Auto Auction this Saturday, November 19 at 12pm sharp at Burien, Washington.

The Auction will be open to the public wherein buyers, bidders and sellers will be able to buy and make offers. Just like their successful auction last November 5, Seattle will display over 200 cars, trucks and SUVs for the buyers and bidders. The Seattle Public Auction is one of the reliable auction companies in the State. Their items are from Bank repos, lease returns, local dealers’ trades, and police seizures.

A car auction is one way of owning second hand/used cars at the lowest prices. This method is not yet highly renowned in the US, but many people who desire whole sale market for used and second hand cars transact with car auctions. Most auctions in the United States are handled by the IRS, banks and government agencies. This is to sell cars and other vehicles that were detained by the police or the FBI. Most of these Auto auctions are closed auctions. This means that the dealers are the only people allowed to use them. However, there are also auto auctions that are open to the public. This is what the Seattle Public Auto Auction will offer.

The Auto Auction process has become a bit complicated for first timers. This is why auto auctions have also turned online. One of which is eBay, wherein sellers and buyers can post and purchase vehicles as well. Online auction sites like eBay ask for certain amount of fees from the sellers. On the other hand, buyers favour local car sellers that are situated near their locations so that they will be able to check out the vehicle themselves.

The Seattle Public Auto Auction is open from Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 8pm. They are also open on Sundays at 11am to 6pm and the company will be hosted at Horizon Ford in Burien. Daily preview will be available for those who are interested on buying and selling cars.

One more interesting thing about the Seattle Public Auto Auction is that one can donate their vehicles to charity via the said company. Their site has an access to donating vehicles to three significant charities including the Vietnam Veterans of America, Purple Heart Car Donations, and Cars Fighting Cancer. Not only will the company give people the chances to own their cars but also it provides hope for less fortunate people.Similar Posts:

The company’s events are only held on the months of November and February. For the past ten years, hundreds of buyers and sellers participate on their auctions. The company has been known for their professionalism and prompt service. First timers said that they have been well taken care of by the company and were satisfied with the service they have provided.

Car auctions are not so much renowned in the US. However, it does play a huge role for companies who are into wholesale market on second hand vehicles. It is one way of purchasing and selling new and mostly used cars based on the Auction system. Moreover, there are also online Auto auctions that people can deal with and the most popular of which is eBay.Similar Posts:

Andre Souang was dismayed when he learned that the car auction where he recently won was a mistake.

Last October 25, Souang, a 46 year old financial services firm owner in Washington was thrilled when he found a $140,000 worth Bentley sold at $14,000 in eBay, a popular auction site. However he was overwhelmed with confusion when the managers at Bentley Scottsdale declined to accept his payment and said that there was an error on the auction. Subsequently, eBay cancelled the arrangement and deleted information connecting Souang’s account from the said auction.

The incident opened the perception on how eBay takes the side of the sellers when arguments arise. EBay explained that after the dealer has communicated with them, they have followed proper regulations in withdrawing the auction. It was also found out that the said car was mistakenly set one-tenth of its original price. The auction site also clarified that their members do commit mistakes in posting and the most proper action is to put the listing off.

EBay has rules that both seller and buyer should follow. Auctions on video games, jewellery and clothing are legally binding contracts. This means that they require instant payment from the buyer and safe delivery by the seller. Car auctions on the other hand, are non-binding which means buyers and sellers are capable of cancelling the order.

Sold at only $13,900, Souang was excited when he saw that the Bentley was not offered in reserve, but was available as a buy-it-now item. This basically means that whoever is willing to pay the given price will win the auction. However, this was not the situation Souang faced. The internet manager of Bentley Scottsdale, Anthony Petruso blamed Souang of taking advantage and damaging the company.

Although Souang was stunned, he was still able to ask for compensation from the company. He requested that Bentley would offer him something at the same cost. However, Souang was even more disappointed when Petruso replied with a statement saying that the eBay Motors category is not considered as a legally binding category and that they are not obligated to offer him anything.

Both eBay and Bentley were not able to explain thoroughly why the situation happened and what other compensations they could provide him. That is why with the treatment from both companies that Souang has experienced, he lost patience and decided to hire a lawyer and challenged the system believing Bentley Scottsdale would be required to sell the said car at the auction price.Similar Posts:
