I was so excited when I checked my mailbox yesterday and discovered I got a postcard in the mail from my friend Kristan who is living in Australia! Kristan moved to Australia this past December to live with her dad for awhile while he working down there! Thank you so much Kristan! You made my day! : )

Quarter Of A Century - 25th Birthday Celebration on the River Walk!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Yesterday morning, I left for San Antonio to celebrate my best friend Kimberly's 25th Birthday! Last night, me, Kimberly, and my cousin Caitlin stayed at the Menger Hotel! The Menger is famous historic hotel in downtown San Antonio. We had a fun time eating at Dick's Last Resort and having drinks on the River Walk! : )

I LOVE the quarter cake I had the bakery at H.E.B make for her birthday! It say's Happy Quarter of a Century Kimberly and the year she was born!

We had a fun night! I hope Kimberly had a great birthday!

I just got back into College Station a little bit ago. It is freeeezzzing today! I plan on relaxing and watching movies for the rest of the day! : )

I just wanted to wish my best friend Kimberly a HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY!!! She will be a quarter of a century old tomorrow - 2/10/12! I'm leaving for the San Antonio area on Saturday to celebrate with her!

Super Bowl 2012 @ Tailgators!

Did y'all watch the Super Bowl last night? I mainly just watched for the commercials and Half Time show! What did y'all think about Madonna's performance? I thought she did a good job but seemed a little nervous! I stayed at my parents again last night and we went to my dad's favorite bar to watch the game! I drove back to College Station early this morning for work.

A couple weeks ago, Kyle started his clinical work for his paramedic class so after he got off yesterday he came over to go watch the game with us! He has been working 24 hour shifts on the ambulance with his uncle at the Houston Fire Department.

My first Coronita! I will have to workout extra hard this week, haha!

Crawfish is back in season! I will only eat it if someone else peels it for me! Haha! I know...lazy!

Spring Weather, Lunch At The Whistle Stop, and More Valentine Decor!

I can't believe it's February! It really seems like it's already spring because it has been SO warm outside! I'm loving it! I'm also loving all these thunderstorms we have been having! We were going to take our Head Start class on a "Bear Hunt" yesterday at a local park but we had to cancel due to the weather! We are going to reschedule it though! This week we also celebrated the 100th day of school! That means only a few more months to go till summer break! : )

I'm in Houston again this weekend....good thing I left early yesterday because College Station had a horrible storm come through last night. Supposedly, there was a tornado warning and they got over 8 inches of rain!

Today, I met up with my friend, Kailee at The Whistle Stop Tea Room in Tomball! I LOVE that place! They have the best chicken salad sandwiches and tortilla soup! We had a good time!

I have also added a few more Valentines decorations to my apartment this week.....

Which team are y'all rooting for tomorrow during the Super Bowl? I really could care less....I just watch for the commercials! Haha!

Back Home and a Birthday!

I'm so glad it's the weekend! Last night, I went home for the night because today was my Grandma's birthday party. When I got home we went out for Mexican food. I probably shouldn't of had a margarita since I'm trying to lose weight....but it sounded good!

Today we went over to my grandparent's house for my Grandma's birthday. We had gumbo and cake. She will be 81 next week! She broke her hip about 6 months ago and is getting around really well!

Bachelor Night, Boot Camp, and Thunderstorms!

Hope everyone is having a good week! On Monday, my friend, Katy came over to watch the Bachelor and drink some wine! She brought over chili she had made and a salad! We had a fun night! What did y'all think of this week's episode? Courtney is CRAZY!!! So far, I really like Kacie B, Nicki, and Jennifer!

At the school I work at, a trainer from a local gym is coming every every Tuesday and Thursday after school to teach a Boot Camp class. He is only charging us $40 for eight sessions....I thought that was a pretty good deal! Yesterday, we had our first class and it wasn't too bad. I'm hoping it get's more intense! I bet he wants to start us off easy. I'm sure he will have us sweating and our heart rate up tomorrow!

I LOVED the weather today! I just wish I could of stayed in bed all day! When I left for work it was rainy, windy, and lightening! We had to spend about 20 minutes in the closet this morning due to a tornado warning. The kids were all pretty wild after that! : )

Hope y'all had a great weekend! I went into Houston this weekend to hang out with my best friend, Kimberly! Her jeep has been acting up so she had to haul it down to from San Antonio to Houston yesterday so she can get it fixed. We stayed at her dad's house last night in Cypress. He and her step-mom took us out to dinner last night at this really good Cajun restaurant! Afterwards, we went to this neat wine bar called, D'Vine! It was decorated really pretty inside!

Today we met up with my parents so they could take us out to our favorite Mexican Restaurant! Also, my mom still had to give Kimberly her Christmas gift!

Kimberly gave me a Christmas present this weekend from her mom and I just LOVE it......

It's just a wine bottle with white lights inside! Isn't it so cute?! Her mom said when she saw it she thought of me and had to get it!

Bad Nail Salon Experience....

This morning I went to the nail salon to get a pedicure and manicure. I absolutely LOVE getting pedicures! However, today I did not have a good experience! While I was getting my pedicure, my big toe started bleeding and wouldn't stop! I'm guessing, the lady picked at it too much when she was cutting my cuticles. First, she put some some type of oil on my toe to try to make it stop bleeding and when that didn't work she pulled out a package of ointment. I couldn't really read the name of the ointment but I thought it was probably something similar to neosporin.

Well....it was not neosporin! She gave me a package to take home and it was Dental Relief! Dental Relief??? Really? I was thinking what the heck?! I've never heard of putting mouth ointment on your toes! Haha! I may not go back to that place again!

I hope my toe doesn't get infected. When I got home I poured alcohol on it and used neosporin (not Dental Relief). Lol. This is what it looked like after I doctored it all up! It looks a lot better now!

I LOVE Three Day Weekends!

Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! I ♥ three day weekends. Friday night we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then went to the movies to see New Year's Eve. I dozed in and out during the movie....I felt kinda bad. I'm glad it wasn't our first date! Haha! : ) Next time, I know not to go to a 10:00 p.m. showing after working all week!

Friday afternoon we had our first weigh in at school for our Biggest Loser competition! I have been pretty good about working out and eating healthy this past week. I have lost THREE pounds since last weekend! I haven't done too good this weekend so I hope I haven't gained it all back. I'm going to try to go to the gym everyday this week! We weigh in again this coming Friday. Hopefully, I will have lost a couple more pounds by then!

This afternoon we watched the Houston Texans playoff game against the Ravens! Kyle is a HUGE Texans fan. I'm more of a college football fan but I have had fun watching the Texans in the playoffs! : ) Houston ended up losing today but they have had a good season! It was the first time for them to ever be in the playoffs.

I'm at my parents house tonight because tomorrow I'm meeting with a principal at an elementary school nearby. She has offered to help me with my interviewing skills and talk with me about my future career plans. I thought that was really nice of her. : ) I will let you know how it goes!

Back to School, Biggest Loser, and Aggie Bachelorette!

The first two days back haven't been too bad! We asked the kids if they missed us over break and one little girl shook her head and said "no". Haha!

Today, after work, I joined the gym! I'm excited to start working out again. I would love to lose some weight before summer. It was kinda ironic because this afternoon I found out that the school I work at is starting a Biggest Loser competition this coming Friday. We will weigh in every Friday for eight weeks and whoever loses the most weight (percentage-wise) wins! Good motivation to workout everyday!

Did y'all watch Bachelor last night? I think it is kinda corny this season! I liked Kacie B. who went on the first one on one date with Ben. I thought she was sweet! However, I did not like the girl he picked on his second one on one! What do y'all think about Blakeley and Jenna? I started cracking up when I found out Jenna was a professional blogger. I really do not like either of them! I'm glad Jenna got kicked off!

Also, I found out last night that one of the girls, Nicki, is an A&M graduate. She is a dental hygienist from Hurst, TX. Maybe Ben will fall in love with an Aggie!

Break is OVER, Getting Healthy, and a Question for You!

Well...this coming Monday I go back to work. :( Most school districts went back last Monday but since we did not have a week off for Thanksgiving and had to go the Monday/Tuesday before Christmas they gave us this week off too! I have had a good break! I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back but it will be nice to get back into a routine I have loved not having to get up at 6:15 every morning! I have been busy cleaning my apartment and taking all my Christmas decorations down. Taking decorations down is not as fun as putting them up!

I have decided that I want to start eating healthier and working out. I planned out all my meals for this next week. I figured that might make it easier when I go to the grocery store. Usually, when I go to the store I walk around not knowing what to buy! Haha! I also plan on joining a gym sometime this next week. I would love to lose 20-25 lbs before the summer! So wish me luck!

I really want to buy a new comforter set for my bedroom. My dad painted my old dresser a bluish color a few months ago and I'm really wanting to find a bedspread with some blue in it. I found a really good deal on this comforter on Amazon........

I love this comforter but does it match the dresser at all? I'm not sure if it does. I'm thinking the comforter is a lighter blue. I could always re-paint the dresser black.

What do you think?!

Casino Trip to Lake Charles!!!

This week we have been in Louisiana at the Casino! Wednesday morning, me, my dad, and Kyle left for Lake Charles. My mom drove up later that day when she got off work.We stayed at the L'Auberge du Lac Wednesday and Thursday night. I always like playing the slot machines and craps whenever I go. However, this time I got into Roulette! I had fun but came home with NO money! Kyle won though! :/ Hope y'all have a great weekend! Here are some pictures of our trip.....

For New Years Eve, Kyle and I had dinner at this Italian restaurant in The Woodlands called Grotto's. It was really good! Afterwards, we went back to my house to build a fire and watch fireworks!

Christmas 2011 Part Two

Hope y'all are having a great week! On Christmas Day we went over to both of my Grandparent's houses. At my Grandma Frances', we had the traditional Christmas dinner of turkey and dressing and at my other Grandma's house, we had Mexican food! I was so excited to have Mexican food this year for Christmas! It was right up my alley! I love my new pajamas my Grandma gave us! We all had a good time...it was fun seeing everyone again!

Christmas 2011 Part One

Hope y'all all had a wonderful Christmas with your friends and family. We went over to both of my Grandparent's houses yesterday. I'm going to do two different posts for Christmas since I have so many pictures.

Last Friday, Kyle came over so we could exchange Christmas presents! I gave him a gift certificate for a one hour massage, a new shirt, and a reel for his new fishing pole!

I think the reel was his favorite thing!

I LOVE my new pink camera Kyle gave me! Earlier in the day he told me he bought me something for the winter so I guessed UGG Boots... I thought it was so funny that the camera was in a UGG Boots box! Haha!

That evening, we went to dinner at PF Changs! We had a good time!

I can't believe a year ago today we were in New York City during the blizzard!!! : )

We were FREEZING!!!

I'm finally home for the Christmas Holidays! This past Monday evening was our staff Christmas party at Ozona's Grill in College Station. It was a lot of fun! Yesterday was the last day of school before break and our class Christmas party. We ordered Chicken Express for all the parents and kids! I got a few really sweet gifts from my students.

I came home last night and my parents took me to my favorite Mexican restaurant. I was so excited to find out that we are having Mexican food on Christmas Day this year! : ) This morning I helped my dad finish decorating our tree and inside our house. He had already finished the outside...it looks so pretty! Tonight I think I'm going to be brave and go to the mall to get some shopping done!

My Teacher Got Her Aggie Ring - Welcome Class of 2030!!!!

The teacher that I'm an assistant for in Head Start got her Aggie Ring last Friday and graduated this past weekend from A&M with her Master's Degree. On Friday, we had the opportunity to take our Head Start class to A&M to get her ring!

We were able to take individual pictures of the kids in front of the big ring replica that is outside the Association of Former Students building. For Christmas we put each child's picture in a frame and wrote Texas Aggie Class of 2030 on the frame. Eighteen years from now when they get their Aggie Ring they can look back at that picture from when they were four!

Afterwards, they let the children go run on Kyle Field - that's where the Aggies play football! They had so much fun! They also had a luncheon for us welcoming the Class of 2030! I know that the kids will always remember this field trip!!!

Trip to Smithville, Texas - Home of the Movie Hope Floats!

Today I met up with Kimberly, Cait, and Kristan in Smithville, Texas for lunch! We wanted to all get together before Kristan leaves for Australia! Kristan graduated yesterday from Texas A&M with a degree in Special Education! Congrats girl! She is going to go live with her dad for awhile while he is working out of the country. I know she is going to have a blast in Australia! I'm so glad we all got to get together! Smithville is a small little town just outside of Bastrop. It is also home of the movie HOPE FLOATS!

WHITE CHRISTMAS!

Last night Kyle bought us tickets to go see Irving Berlin's White Christmas in Houston. I loved it. My favorite part was at the very end when it snowed on us! I'm sure that will be the only snow I will see this year in Texas! : ) Kyle's parents have season tickets to all the shows so we went with them. Before the play, we had dinner at this Italian food restaurant called Vincent's. It was really good!
