Have you ever wanted to go to Alaska and explore the unique beauty of this state? Try planning your vacation by taking an Alaska Cruise. An Alaskan cruise can take you to the great wonders of this majestic place.

Most of you have not experience the Alaskan cruise experience. This is because when someone talks about cruises, people tend to think about beautiful and exotic beaches of the tropical paradises of the Caribbean. Cruise vacations in Alaska also exist, and anyone can enjoy a relaxing Alaskan cruise with all the amenities and services you would get on a cruise vacation in the Caribbean.

Alaska cruises offer a lot of things to vacationers or tourists different from what you would usually find on a regular cruise in a tropical paradise. If you want something different for your vacation, why not consider taking a vacation cruise in Alaska.

One great feature of Alaska cruises is that most cruises to Alaska give you the chance to experience pleasurable things onboard and also view the incredible glaciers and varied wildlife unique to Alaska. This type of vacation is perfect for the whole family.

Alaska is the 49th state in the U.S. It is known for being cold. There are so many things that someone can enjoy and witness in this state. Most people feel that Alaska is incomparable especially for cruising and discovering. It is the largest state of the United States of America with lands reaching up to 586,000 square miles. Just imagine the many things that you will enjoy on an Alaskan cruise.

Here are some of the attractions available that will fill you with fun and awe.

Wildlife
Helicopter trip
Train rides
Bus trip to Denali State Park

Most people would say that it would take two lifetimes to experience all of these things. But on an Alaska Cruise, you will experience them in a week or two.

With the Alaskas huge wilderness, it will give you the chance to viewing nature from up close or from a distance. For instance, cruisers will have the chance to witness the large eagle population in this part of the world. It will definitely amaze you, whether youre a nature lover or just a curious person who wants to see these wonderful birds in flight. Alaskan cruises offer a view of huge glaciers and snow capped mountains.

This incomparable trip on an Alaskan Cruise will be a memory that you will cherish. Witness the glacier formations and the remarkable waterfront towns. An Alaskan cruise will certainly invite you to discover and observe Alaskas unique beauty and magnificence.

In addition, on an Alaskan cruise all the basic needs such as the meals, transportation and accommodation have already been handled and cruisers have the choice of selecting any events and activities in which to participate.

You will also have the opportunity to go whale watching or have a helicopter ride that lands on a glacier. It all depends on which town you drop by.

Doesnt the idea of a lovely three day sail in wonderful old boat sound nice? Here are a few things to think about before you sail away.

1. Do check the price. It may be possible to take an actual, fairly luxurious cruise instead of sailing on one of the oldest boats in America.

2. Do make sure you fully understand the size of your “room ” on the boat. If you are hoping to have any romantic action in your cabin it would be good to know ahead of time that you and your partner each have a small bunk and these bunks are not on the same wall.

3. Do know ahead of time if you and your partner can both even stand up at the same time in your “room” on the boat. If the answer is “no” consider other options.

4. Don’t leave without checking more than once to make sure you have Your luggage. Even though you carefully packed All the luggage, did Yours actually make it to the boat? If not you will have a fantastic time with no changes of clothing and nothing warmer than a sweatshirt. Dont leave without all your luggage!

5. Dont get on a boat where the crew is planning on having a lot of assistance from you and the rest of the paying customers. Like, for instance, doing your own dishes or pulling in ropes and such.

6. Dont think you will get everything outlined in the brochure. Will you ever go onto land during this excursion or will you just ride around and around on the boat being quite sure youve seen that same shoreline five times in three days. Do ask the boat crew if you will ever see any of the sea creatures promised and what about the island lobster bake?

7. Dont plan on real bathroom facilities and do ask where the shower is. Ha!!

8. Dont even think of taking this kind of boat trip if you dont like small spaces. Not only is the berth area minuscule, there is no other place to play games or cards except the galley, also tiny and often being used to fix the meals.

9. Do consider this boat trip if you enjoy working while on a very expensive vacation in the smallest accommodations imaginable while possibly seeing no sea life and not eating promised lobster!

These are some dos and dont of a boat trip Ive actually taken.

When people decide to travel, the last thing that in general crosses their mind has to do with airline tickets. In general, people are so anxious to take the trip that they establish the destination, choose the hotel, look for tourism packages and even sometimes rent a car and the airline ticket is forgotten.

Airline companies know about that and they can do many things just to create strategies to get the biggest profits they can from the buyer. The only way to prevent this from happening is to dedicate some time before travelling just looking for different companies that offer tickets to the destination you want, and comparing the prices.

Saving some money

Have you ever given up on a trip because the airline ticket was a fortune you couldn’t afford? Yes, this is a pretty common thing and it happens more than we imagine. There are people that plan the whole trip, choose the place, the hotel, buy special clothes for the destination, and when it’s time to buy the airline ticket, simply find out they cannot afford it.

In order to avoid that, rather than planning everything in advance and leaving the airline tickets for last, do the opposite. Airline tickets should be at the head of the list of things to do for someone who is going to travel.

It’s important to have some guidelines to buy cheaper tickets and save some money to spend on the trip. Some useful things are:

- Write a small list of places you would like to go to. After that, start looking for airline companies that offer flights to those places.
- When this is done, it’s time to check your budget and establish how much you are willing to spend. This is pretty helpful because it avoids frustration. It’s easier to travel if you have more than one option because you can have different prices to choose from and see which one best fits in with your own budget.
- If you are used to travelling on business, you can check on discounts, either with a travel agency or with the company you are using.
- Sometimes, travelling with a tourist package is cheaper than planning your trip by yourself. This happens because agencies offer packages that include airline tickets, hotels, sightseeing, visits to landmarks, car rental and some other things.

Different prices – Same arrival

Since there are many airline companies spread through the world, people can find several prices if they look at different airlines. The competition in this market is so tough that the difference between prices can be enormous.

However, if you are used to always travelling with the same company, you probably have some sort of bonus program that offers discounts. In this case, it’s advisable for you to check the deals that may be available to the destination you’ve chosen, before going looking for tickets with other companies.

Holidays and airline tickets

If you have all the details of your holiday settled, buy your ticket in advance. Besides avoiding a rise in the price, you don’t run the risk of tickets for your destination being fully booked.

Have you recently decided that you would like to take a Hawaii trip, namely a Kailua trip? If you have, you may want to get started with making your reservations. When it comes to making your Kailua vacation reservations, you will find that you have a number of different options.

One of the many ways that you can go about booking your next Kailua vacation involves visiting one of your local travel agencies. Using a travel agent to book your vacation is a nice option to have. Many individuals who are pressed for time or those who do not have the desire to research all of their Kailua vacation options turn to travel agents. Professional travel agents have experience with planning quality and relatively affordable vacations, including Hawaiian vacations.

Another one of your options, when looking to book a stay at a Kailua vacation rental, involves making your reservations directly through the vacation home owner. This approach is one that is nice, as you are likely get each and every one of your questions answered and accurately. There are a number of different ways that you can go about making direct contact with Kailua vacation rental owners.

Finally, your third option, when looking to book a stay at a Kailua vacation home or when looking to plan your Kailua vacation in general, involves using online travel websites. Online travel websites are websites that list a number of vacation rentals and many also allow you to book your airline reservations as well.

Now that you know what your options are, when looking to plan your next Kailua vacation, you may be wondering which options is best for you. It is important to note that each of the above mentioned options have their plus sides, as well as their downsides. As for using the services of a professional travel agent, you will find that they are convenient, but there are no guarantees that you will like the results. If you are looking for something in particular, you will want to assist your travel agent along every step of the way. When doing so, it may be within your best interest to just make your own Kailua travel arrangements.

Speaking of making your own Kailua vacation travel arrangements, it was outlined above how you can make reservations at a Kailua vacation rental directly through the owner. While this option is nice, as you will be in contact with the individual who knows the rental property inside and out, there are also a few downsides to making your reservations directly and independently. One of those downsides is the time you can spend researching each of your options. Many vacation homeowners have their own websites or advertise their rentals locally. It may be difficult and time consuming for you to find other vacation rentals to compare.

As for using an online travel website to book your next Kailua vacation, you will find that there are an unlimited number of benefits to using this approach. In fact, online travel websites are increasing in popularity. One of the many reasons why you should look into booking your next Kailua vacation through an online travel website is because of saved time. Online travel websites, especially those that deal specifically with Hawaii vacations, have multiple vacation rentals to choose from. This makes comparing size, price, and location as easy as possible. You may be surprised how many vacation rentals you can examine in just a few minutes with an online travel website.

As previously stated, online travel websites often allow you to do more than just make reservations for a Kailua vacation rental. Many online travel websites also allow you to make other travel arrangements, such as those for airline reservations. Even if you are unable to book your travel arrangements in the form of a vacation package, there are still a number of benefits to making your Kailua vacation reservations all at the same place, as well as at the same time.

As outlined above, making your next Kailua vacation rental reservations through an online travel website, especially one that deals specifically with Hawaiian vacations, has a number of benefits. While you do have a number of travel websites to choose from, you will want to take the time to examine HawaiianBeachRentals.com.

When youre headed out on a vacation or business trip the last thing you need is to feel tired or run down. But with these seven tips to beat jet lag, youre sure to stay alert and ready for your entire trip.

Keep it the same

When youre not traveling for long, you can usually avoid jet lag by sticking to your normal routine. Keep your watch set to your home time and just do what youd normally do at homeeating, sleeping, exercise, etc.

Your body wont even notice the time chance when you do this, and it will readjust without any problems on the way back.

Sleep like a baby

When youre traveling out of your normal time zone, youll want to try to keep to normal bedtimes. And while you might have troubles at first, try to get the same number of hours of sleep per night. This will help your body fall into a new rhythm for the time when youre away.

Even if you cant fall asleep right away, try to get into bed and close your eyes until you fall asleep. Eventually your body will pick up the clue and youll get all the sleep that you need.

Fill yourself up

Many times jet lag can be made worse by becoming dehydrated on your trip or while youre headed there on the plane. To combat this youll want to make sure that youre drinking plenty of fluids as you travelwater and juices especially.

Alcohol can dehydrate the body so it should be avoided if you can. And if youre expected to drink at a business function, just follow each glass with a chaser of water.

Find the rhythm

When youre headed into areas where the time will change significantly, you want to set your watch when you get there and start following the local hours. Youll want to eat when you are supposed to eat, sleep when its dark, etc.

By changing the routine that youre used to directly into the new hours, you can help to offset jet lag before it even starts. Follow your new daylight and darkness hours to adjust your circadian rhythms.

When you arrive

One of the best ways to avoid jet lag is to do some form of exercise when you arrive at your destination. This can be as simple as a walk or a few calisthenics in your hotel room. Do a few jumping jacks to get your heart pumping or start touring the town.

When your body gets exercise, it can bank the extra energy and help you adapt to changing light conditions.

If you just cant sleep

When all else fails, you can try a sleeping pill to re-teach your body when to sleep. Normally this isnt recommended, but when youre on an extended trip or you have to switch time zones frequently, a sleeping pill can help to give you some rest in order to be alert during the day.

Natural cues

And if the sleeping pill doesnt appeal to you, you can try aromatherapy.

Find a good travel kits that includes oils that you can smell for energy as well as soothing oils for relaxation, like lavender.

With all of these tips, jet lag will no longer follow you on your next trip.

Why do birds appeal to us ? Most people enjoy the sight of birds, even people who have never been active birdwatchers. Although birds are less like us in appearance and habits than our fellow mammals, birds undeniably hold a special place in our hearts.

One reason that birds capture our imaginations is that they can fly, while we remain trapped here on earth. What child hasn’t watched a bird fly overhead and dreamt of being up there in the sky flying alongside ? What adults have not, at one time or another, wished that they could take wing and fly away from all of their everyday troubles and cares ? Birds are natural symbols of freedom and escape. After all, what could better encapsulate our vision of pure freedom than the ability to fly off into the sunset ?

Birds can soar overhead and they can also cover great distances. They are privy to a “bird’s eye view” of a single building or a park, or an entire city or landscape, making them a perfect metaphor for obtaining a fresh perspective on a situation, or for taking a larger view of an issue.

Birds often symbolize other things, as well, such as human character traits and qualities. There’s the proud peacock, the noble eagle, the thieving magpie, squabbling crows, and billing and cooing love birds. Gliding swans are the perfect picture of grace and elegance in motion. The hawk is a symbol of war, the dove a symbol of peace.

What else attracts us to birds ? Birds have feathers, soft to the touch and a joy to look at. Plumage seems to come in an infinite variety of lovely colors and patterns, from the subtle, earthy tones of the common house sparrow to the outrageous, iridescent regalia of the showy peacock. Birds are beautiful works of art, signed by nature. Their plumage adds color and spectacle to a humdrum world. Their colors may also suggest many different locales and associations to us.

For example, those small, round, brown sparrows are homey, comforting and familiar to those of us who live in temperate climates. They are our backyard friends and neighbors. American cardinals and blue jays are highly colored, cheerful sights to behold on gray days, from the tips of their tail feathers to the fanciful crests on their heads. They are a bit more exotic, yet they are still familiar backyard friends. Then there are those birds who live in far off exotic places, such as African pink flamingos and tropical parrots, who sport wonderful tropical colors. We love them, not only for their magnificent colors, but also for their association with far-flung lands and exotic adventures.

Birds also come in a great variety of shapes and sizes, which further adds to their appeal. We can relate to them, in so far as they, and we, have two eyes, one mouth and bilateral symmetry. Yet, they are also very unlike us. They have protruding beaks, from the sparrow’s tiny jabbing beak to the toucan’s enormous appendage. They have wings, more unlike human arms than those of other mammals, or even of reptiles. In fact, when their wings are folded against their sides, birds appear to have no arms at all. They also have thin, bare legs and they have claws. Their heads and necks flow smoothly into their bodies. Their forms create graceful outlines, whether round like a chubby European robin, long like an African parrot, or sleek like a regal swan.

Yes, birds are beautiful to look at, but the beauty of birds is not confined to the visual aspects of shape and color alone, because birds also fill the air with music. They seem to offer us their song simply to entertain us, and they ask for nothing in return. Like a garden bursting with colorful flowers, the fantastic colors and songs of birds seem frivolous and out of place in a world full of harsh realities. It seems as though they were put on earth expressly to make life more beautiful. They were not, of course. Their color and song serve biological ends in the process of natural selection, but that does not prevent us from enjoying such sights and sounds. We can listen in on their free concerts and derive pleasure and serenity from the experience. We can also be amused when a few species of birds even mimic our own speech.

Another characteristic of birds that we humans respond to is the fact that they build nests. They seem so industrious and we watch with wonder as each type of bird builds its own species-specific nest, ranging from a simple assemblage of twigs to an intricately woven masterpiece of craftmanship. “Nest” is such a cozy word. Birds build their cozy nests, care for their young, and raise their families, all in the course of a single spring or summer. We admire their patience and devotion and attentive care to their offspring. We observe and marvel at a parent bird’s countless trips to and from the nest to diligently feed the helpless chicks. Birds provide us with fine role models for parenting.

Yes, birds are homebodies during the nesting season, but they also migrate. Birds are free to come and go and many cover vast distances each year, as they travel between their summer and their winter homes. They are social creatures, moving in flocks and creating great spectacles as they fly. A glimpse of a V-shaped flock of geese passing overhead thrills us and stirs something in us. We admire their strength and endurance in carrying out such grueling journeys year after year. We envy them, too, for they are free to go beyond mere political boundaries and to cross entire continents. We up north are sorry to see them part each autumn and we are heartened to see them return each spring. The return of such birds as the swallows signals the return of spring, with its promise of birth and renewal.

Each spring we are able to welcome them back into our midsts, for nearly everywhere that humans live, birds live also. Birds cover the earth. There is such a diversity of bird species to fill each ecological niche on earth and to contribute to its balance by doing such things as eating insects and dispersing plant seeds. There are the ducks and moorhens of rural ponds. There are birds who live in the forests. There are birds in the mountains and birds in the deserts. The forbidding oceans have their hardy puffins and pelicans. Even frozen, icy places have their own birds, the lovable penguins.

Birds adapt to so many different habitats and situations, including human environments. The often ignored pigeon is a beautiful bird. (I have cared for and been grateful to have known many individual pigeons over the years.) As a species, they have managed to adapt to modern cityscapes, substituting cliff-like building ledges and bridge girders for their ancestral cliffs of rock. Other bird species may be less tolerant of such disturbances and avoid the prying eyes of humans.

Wherever they choose to live, birds remain symbols of untamed nature, surviving despite man’s interference with their habitats. They remain proud and free to the present day. They are also a living link to the mysterious and fascinating history of life on our planet, as birds are the surviving heirs to the dinosaurs. One look at unfeathered baby birds, with their oversized beaks and feet, and it is easy to see the dinosaur in them.

Each of us may have our own reason, or combination of reasons, for loving birds, but their appeal is indisputable and universal. Birds represent the perfect blend of beauty, strength, grace and endurance, from the cuteness of a tiny sparrow to the majesty of an imposing raptor. Birds fill both the eye and the ear with beauty. We enjoy them. We admire them. Sometimes we envy them. They add appreciably to the quality of our lives and to the diversity of life on earth and the world would be a smaller, sadder, emptier place without them.

What image does a New England Christmas conjure up in your mind?

A Currier and Ives scenes of a snow-bound village with festive decorations skating on a frozen pond or taking in an exciting holiday show in Boston? And if you have kids no Christmas is complete without a ride on the Polar Express New England style.

Heres where you can experience six holiday magic events this season

BRIGHT NIGHTS AT FOREST PARK

Billed as New Englands single most popular holiday destination, Bright Nights at Forest Park is entering its ninth season. Located in the Forest Park area of downtown Springfield, Western Massachusetts, its a wonderland of marvelous displays such as this year lost in time display where eight mammoth dinosaurs come to light along side an exploding volcano with flowing lava.

Entrance fee is $12 per car and the show begins on November 23, 2005 at 6:00pm and operates through January 1, 2006.

CHRISTMAS AT THE NEWPORT MANSIONS

Each holiday season the Newport Mansions of The Elms, The Breakers, and Marble House put on a stunning show of spectacular evergreens, trees, thousands of poinsettia plants, fresh flowers and wreaths. The great entrances and hallways display magnificently decorated trees. The dining tables are set with period silver and china, and mannequins are dressed in authentic costumes.

You can see this stunning display of seasonal decorations at these Newport Mansions yourself November 12 through to January 1, 2006.

NEW ENGLAND CHRISTMAS AT OLD STURBRIDGE VILLAGE

Between December 1, 2005 and January 1, 2005 Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts will be transformed so you can experience a 19th century New England Christmas.

Old Sturbridge Village has always been one of my favorite places to visit and discover about life in 19th century New England. Now with the holiday season upon us, the village once again displays its ability to provide a discovery experience in a fun and entertaining way, and with a New England Christmas flavor.

THE BOSTON CHRISTMAS SEASON

Whether you delight in taking in the seasonal favorite of Boston Ballets The Nutcracker or soaking up glad tidings of joy at Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops Holiday Series, Boston knows how to celebrate the season with special shows and concerts. And of course theres always the Candlelight Carol Concerts at Trinity Church in the Back Bay area, and the famous First Night celebration.

The Boston Pops kicks off on Friday, December 9th at 8:00pm and continues through to their annual New Years Eve celebration on December 31st at 10:15pm. The Boston Ballet performs The Nutcracker at The Opera House, and the season starts on November 25th with performances through December 30th.

POLAR EXPRESS CONNECTICUT STYLE

The North Pole Express is a popular nighttime steam train ride with live readings of Christmas stories, hot chocolate and cookies, sing-along, and holiday surprises. Special guest Santa Claus has a treat for all children, and youre guaranteed lots of fun and lots of extras.

Essex Steam Trains North Pole Express operates Fridays through Sundays December 2 through December 23, with special early trips on November 25-27. Tickets are sold at the Essex Train Station in Essex, Connecticut – call (860) 767-0103 or toll free 800 377-3987.

NEW ENGLAND CHRISTMAS TIME AT SANTAS VILLAGE

Way up north is the village of Santa. You can visit him in the summer, and you can visit him in the fall, but the best to time visit him is Christmastime! Santas Village is located in Jefferson, New Hampshire – a spot deep in the White Mountains. Santa is preparing for his world tour on Christmas Eve, but you can take a peek for a brief time if you hurry.

The village opens for the Christmas season on Friday November 25th from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Then every Saturday from November 26th through December 17th from 11:00am to 7:00pm, and every Sunday from November 27th through December 18th from 11:00am to 6:00pm.

Make your New England Christmas magical this year by experiencing one or more of these attractions. It is after all the season to create unforgettable memories.

Alaska – The Great Frontier

Aw Inspiring scenery, glistening glaciers, plentifull wildlife, and Native American culture are only some of the marvelous attractions that attract cruise vacationers to Alaska. With so much to see and do in Alaska, it’s no wonder the state’s official flower is the alpine forget-me-not!

Cruise Lines that sail to Alaska on a seven-day itinerary usually cruise along the Inside Passage and visit Glacier Bay National Park or Hubbard Glacier, stopping at four ports along the way. Most cruise lines also offer a arrange of extended cruise-tour package options which take passengers deeper into Alaska via train and include land stays at lodges and sightseeing in Denali National Park – making their trip to Alaska even more exciting.

For weather and sunlight purposes, cruises to Alaska cruise strictly during the summer months, from early May to mid-September. June, July and August can be known as peak season when average daily high temperatures can reach 75 degrees Fahrenheit, so those looking for the best rates should check sailing dates in May and September when temperatures settle around 50 degrees.

A variety of ships & cruise lines sail to Alaska, including luxury vessels and midsize ships – most of which offer expanded kids activity for family vacationers. While the majority of cruise ships sail from Vancouver, BC, Seattle is increasingly becoming a favorite summer homeport for many lines. Both embarkation/disembarkation points allow cruise ships to visit the most popular ports on an Alaska cruise, including Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway.

Choose to cruise for YOU. You can have the vacation of a lifetime, see the world, completely unwind, take a walk on the wild side, dance the night away, feast on fabulous cuisine, learn something new, make friends, bond with your family, steal quiet moments with your spouse. Whatever your heart desires, is yours, when you choose to cruise.

Boat shows are great for new and experienced boaters alike

It doesn’t matter if you were born on the water or if you just started lake boating(http://www.laketrash.com/) with your buddies, a boat show may just be the perfect, fun outing for you to go to. Boat shows are held all over the country, from Seattle to Chicago to Miami, and they include not only boats, but seminars, new product displays and more. If you are interested in seeing a boat show near you, ask your local lake officials where and when the nearest show is coming.

Here is what most boat shows cover:

About a gazillion boats: At it’s core, a boat show is in fact a showing off of boats, meaning you can shuttle around the water checking out some of the most prestigious, shiny new boats from other boaters. The bigger boat shows could have upwards of a hundred or more boats while smaller shows may have 10 or 20 boats. The boaters that are displaying their boats often prepare for this event for some time before hand, to make sure their vehicle is clean and ready. If you want to have your boat displayed in a show, talk to the event hosts well in advance.

Seminars: Most boat shows also have seminars for different things relating to boats. Seminars may inform you of the best ways to clean certain parts of your boat or may include guest speaker appearances. The seminars are either held on a bigger boat docked on the water or on shore.

New product give-a ways: Retailers from the boating industry flock to boat shows. Since boaters navigate their way to boat shows when they are around, retailers find it the best place to sell boating equipment, parts and boating accessories (http://www.laketrash.com/3C119F89372941F1A467EF9DAD57D7DE.asp?cat_id=0B052D4A3D0D45F4BB3DB67DDEA8DE8A&pc_key=B1F9A71AB1134DE98D831F2BEE795006&retpage=%2Flaketrash%2Fvirtualweb%2F3C119F89372941F1A467EF9DAD57D7DE%2Easp&nm=Accessories&spath=Home%20%3E%20Accessories&path=Home%20%3E%20Accessories&ie_key=B0306BDCB4D1477E83F2D9B1F2083EBB). Many of these retailers do raffles, free product give-a-ways and more. If you are looking for equipment, a boat show is often a good place to go.

Boat shows are held all over the nation and are the place to be for interested boaters. Free entertainment, great boats, boating apparel (http://www.laketrash.com/0C1D040964844726A08A9CDE60F0F1FF.asp?ccb_key=23B84BB2F1674CC4A5BA2B6EDBF27571&ie_key=ABCC1F16F7C9467D958959F0ACEDA0CD), food and more are often available. It isn’t uncommon for thousands of people to attend the boating events(http://www.laketrash.com/0C1D040964844726A08A9CDE60F0F1FF.asp?ccb_key=841FA32AFE2C4679823E16E8967AD205&ie_key=805EFDF90CD14A0EB8122E4F8680E238) . The shows bring together boaters with similar interests and sometimes last several days. Some of the bigger boat shows in the United States include: The Seattle Boat Show, the Fort Lauderdale International Show, and the Atlanta Boat Show.

Long before, but especially since the 911 airline hijackings, people are weary of airline travel. A lot of people want to know they are riding on a safe airline. Airlines for the most part are safe, and the most dangerous factors usually include flying conditions (such as storms, or mountain terrain). Proper planning of destinations and good airline security lessens the chance of terrorists, bombs and hijackings. Of course there are always the rare occasions that something horrible will happen, but it is said to be 100s of times more dangerous to travel by car than it is by plane. That statistic should be comfort enough. The International Aviation Safety Assessment is a guide to which countries meet the airline safety checks, not the airlines themselves.

The majority of airline accidents occur on take off and landing, so you should try and book flights that dont have a stop over destination. Thats a good preventative measure right there, not only that, but you wont have to sit and wait to change planes half way through your flight. Another good way to fly safer is to know that larger airplanes have stricter rules and the passengers have a better chance of survival if the plane should crash, so you might want to consider booking your flight with a large airplane of thirty or more passengers.

Like anything else, always be aware of the closest emergency exit, and consider keeping your seat belt on at all times while seated. This is especially true if you are nervous about turbulence; which is often unexpected and can cause injury. You should also keep anything too heavy out of the overhead carrier in case of turbulence. You dont want anything to fall on you or anyone else. Also, allow the flight attendants to handle your hot drinks and food as they are trained to handle it and can safely manage giving it to you. You dont want to be walking around with a hot cup of coffee in your hand and have some turbulence spill it all over you or someone else.

As far as airplane crashes go, they are very rare. However, if the incident should occur, try to remain calm and listen to the flight attendants. They know how to handle situations and keep you safe. Often the very front or very back of the plane is the safest. Sitting close to the wings is the worse place to sit. If the plane wings get torn off in a crash it could tear the fuselage and cause death to anyone near the carnage.

But dont worry, airline travel is safe. I wouldnt worry too much about it. Just believe you will live and you dont have anything to worry about.
