Is there ever a request for “The P&G Girls” who traveled throughout the United States and Canada interviewing housewives for market research. It was during the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. I worked from 1953-56 and it was the most fascinating job that a young woman could have.
I would imagine that many of us are ‘dying out’ and I think is fabulous history for Procter and Gamble.
We were the first to use computer cards, which we filled out after our interview.
Many of us were lucky enough to live at “Montgomery House” while training.

Thanks for your kind words Harry. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since Kim and I were in the Northeast overseeing the delivery of tons of donations from St Tammany Parish just after Hurricane Sandy. And in December, we repeated the effort and delivered another trainload of donations from all 50 states. It reinforces the fact that at the end of the day, regardless of whether we hail from “red states” or “blue states”, we’re all Americans. And this is what Americans do.

I had to smile when this link was forwarded to me by a friend. It’s heartwarming to know that this collaborative effort by Katrina warriors to aid those in need inspired others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Train of Hope efforts. It was an testimony of the goodness of so many and the human spirit.
