This DIY Menorah was designed by Ken Goldman.

List of Materials:

  • “Altoids” tin
  • 4.5 x1/2 inch strip of tin ( any thin metal will work :a piece of an old can,even a thick piece of tooling copper can work in a pinch)
  • 2.5×1/2

Directions:

  1. One piece of tin 4.5 inches long- mark off 1/2 an inch from each end
  2. Bend each 1/2 inch end piece 90 degrees
  3. Mark of 8 equally spaced holes and drill holes just big enough for the wick of your choice to pass through
  4. On 2.5 inch strip of tin mark off 3/4 of an inch from each end
  5. Bend the end pieces 90 degrees
  6. Drill 1 hole in center for “shamash”
  7. Place both pieces in “Altoids” tin fill with olive oil and you are ready to light your portable Chanukkah lamp/Chanukkiah/menorah!

Anobit’s executive management gathered the startup company’s employees at a Herzliya hotel on Tuesday morning to inform them that they are now working for Apple.

The global technology leviathan is performing its first acquisition in Israel and will open its first overseas development center in the Holy Land. The talks between Anobit and Apple over an estimated $400-$500 million deal were revealed by Calcalist last week.

Israeli News site Calcalist is confirming that the 4-500 million dollar deal has been finalized for Apple to buy the flash memory company Anobit.  Anobit’s memory already appear in the iPhone, iPad and Macbook Air so this seems like an easy purchase for Apple to justify.

We will update you when we know more about the deal as neither Apple nor Anobit have officially commented on the acquisition, although Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Twitter account has confirmed the deal by welcoming Apple to Israel.
