Nearly 125 officers from local agencies are conducting saturation patrols in the East Valley during the holiday season. The Holiday DUI Task Force seeks out impaired drivers on the road, while conducting traffic stops for violations that they observe and enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy for underage drinkers. Drivers found to be impaired by alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested and transported to the command post for processing during the next few weeks of the holiday season. This year’s participating agencies will include Mesa, PD, Scottsdale PD, Phoenix PD, Gilbert PD, MCSO, DPS, Salt River PD, Chandler PD & Tempe PD.

In December 2010, officers from 12 agencies participating in the 15-day task force arrested 2,516 drivers for DUI.

Last Friday night, All City participated in the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) and law enforcement’s DUI Task Force Operations in Tempe. The purpose of the operation is to provide education and reduce the number and severity of crashes in which alcohol and/or drugs are contributing factors. The saturation point was Tempe and the following agencies participated: Chandler PD, DPS, Gilbert PD, MCSO, Salt River PD & Scottsdale PD.

In 2010, the East Valley DUI Task Force (EVDUITF) was comprised of nearly 125 officers from local agencies. They conducted saturation patrols in a different East Valley location each night the EVDUITF was operating. Drivers found to be impaired by alcohol and/or drugs were arrested and transported to the command post for processing. Additionally, the officers enforced the “ZERO TOLERANCE” policy toward underage drinkers.

All City Towing was honored to be invited this past week to participate in a fundraising effort, which raised more than $70,000 to benefit a wounded Valley soldier who celebrated his birthday yesterday.

Private First Class Joshua Bullis, a graduate of Goldwater High School, lost both legs above his knees and his left arm after a roadside bomb exploded in Afghanistan in September 2010. The efforts to raise the funds were spearheaded by the Phoenix FOP Lodge #2. Phoenix Officer Dave Hopkins, a friend of Bullis’ mother and father (also Phoenix police officers) handled the event and was ecstatic when the final number reached in excess of the initial $50,000 goal. The group held a day-long, all-you-can eat buffet and raffle. The funds will be used by Bullis to assist him with rebuilding his life and retro-fitting his home to make it more handicap accessible.

Thank you, Josh for your service to our Country.

All City Towing was proud to be a sponsor of the 2011 Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association (A.L.E.C.A.) Desert Dog Police K-9 Trials. The event was held once again at Scottsdale Stadium, this past weekend.

Attendees were able to observe many active Police, Military, Government and Security canine teams from around the nation competing in various field exercises. The teams competed in various building exercises; however, because the building, narcotics and explosives searches must take place in a controlled environment, these activities were unable to be showcased for the public. The competition events included: Handler Protection, Tactical Building Search, Building Search, Agility / Obstacle course, Area Search, Narcotics and Explosives Search.

Congratulations to all participants but most especially to our public/private partners from CPD, DPS, GPD, MCSO, MPD, SPD & TPD.

Drive Hammered …..Get Nailed !

Each year, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) and law enforcement agencies throughout Arizona participate in DUI Task Force Operations to reduce the number and severity of crashes in which alcohol and/or drugs are contributing factors. This is accomplished through continued zero tolerance enforcement during the holiday season. All City has been a long-time sponsor and participant in these efforts.

Other goals of this GOHS program are: to increase the statewide seat belt/child safety seat usage, to increase public information and education of the benefits of seat belt/child safety seat usage for adults and children and to achieve and maintain compliance with traffic laws such as aggressive driving, speeding and red light running. This is done by combining the resources from multiple jurisdictions and focus enforcement activities in specific jurisdictional areas.
