Flex Image to Bitmap converter

Today I came across a problem where I required to convert an Image datatype to bitmap so that I can duplicate the dynamically loaded image.

From quite a long time I used to face an issue when it comes to zooming a movie clip to the position where the mouse has been clicked and finally managed to find a decent solution.

Take the below scenairo where in the stage we have a main movieclip which contains two movieclips. A circle_mc and a rectangle_mc. I want to determine the stage position of the circle_mc.

To achieve this we have to use the localToGlobal method found in a movieclip object.
In the above scenario the code goes as below:

I just created an app. which can load an rss using the HttpService object. Displayed the data using a Datagrid component and a custom component.

1180: Call to a possibly undefined method myMethod
Hope this error is seen by any person who uses an itemRenderer in flex 3 which calls a well defined function in the main application script tags.

This is a scope issue can be fixed by calling
outerContainer.myFunction();

If you want to call some method like navigateToUrl
flash.net.navigateToUrl

Hope this helps someone and not waste time like I have done.

Flex3 HTTPService url with parameters

Today I was trying to retrive the rss feed from news.google.com
The url for the same is
http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&ned=us&hl=en&output=rss

But while using HTTPService the url property with the above address failed. I couldn't find a solution for this. After some research I sorted out this issue by doing the below:
