We're thrilled to have Pat McCorkle, one of NY's most noted casting directors, back at Actors Connection after far too long! Casting for film, TV and theater, some of Pat's recent credits include the feature films Ghost Town starring Ricky Gervais and Funny Money starring Chevy Chase, Showtime's Californication and The L Word as well as numerous Broadway, national tours and Off-Broadway shows.

For this intensive, Pat will select sides based on your HS/resume submission which you will be emailed and prepare in advance. You'll start off with a Q&A, then Pat will be working on-camera using the pre-read format with a reader in a group. Be prepared for feedback and to take re-adjustments on the fly.

Pat is interested in meeting actors of all types and ethnicities 18+ for their numerous upcoming projects.

Acclaimed for casting in all areas, Pat's office has amassed an impressive list of credits that include feature film (Ghost Town, Secret Window, Thomas Crown Affair, School Ties); TV (Californication, The L Word, The Electric Company, Sesame Street, 3lbs., Chapelle's Show); Broadway (Lieutenant Of Inishmore, Glass Menagerie, Amadeus, A Doll's House, She Loves Me, Blood Brothers); and Off-Broadway (The Toxic Avenger, Adding Machine, Almost Maine, Killer Joe, Mrs. Klein). This office also casts theatre projects for The Guthrie, George St. Playhouse, TheaterWorks, Hartford Stage and the Pittsburgh Public. Did you know that there are now more East Coast opportunities for actors in films than ever before? Here's your chance to work with one of NY's top indie film casting directors, teaching YOU the skills necessary to break into this very exciting area of the business!

Each week you'll polish your film audition technique by working intensively on-camera, performing both cold and prepared scenes from indie features with a reader. The first week you'll work on cold sides. The second week you'll work with a prepared scene from a full script that Brette will have emailed you in advance giving you the full history of your character. The third week a new cold scene and the fourth week another prepared scene that will be emailed to you in advance with full script. The final week, Brette will focus on marketing techniques and the business side of the indie market; including who's who in the industry and tips on how to break in.

Brette's casts for predominately film and commercials. Current and recent projects include the feature films THE PENDANT, FOUR LIES, LULLABY, A STATE of NATURE and HOMECOMING. Recent projects include Herman and Shelly, Frank the Bastard with Chris Sarandon, William Sadler and Rachel Miner, Vivienne Again, With All My Might and Live at Five with Dylan Baker. Past projects include: God Don't Make the Laws with Paul Sorvino, Robert Prescott and Peter Vack, Queen City with Vivica Fox, Buffalo Bushido with Jesse L. Martin, Frederick Weller and John Savage, The David Dance and El Camino with Elisabeth Moss and Wes Studi. Brette's films have been featured in almost every major film festival including Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca and Cannes.

Todd Wall comes from MTV Networks and is a seasoned editor, actor, writer and director with over 15 years experience both in front of and behind the lens. As an actor he has had feature roles in studio and indie films, on hit television shows, and has appeared in over a dozen commercials. He currently freelances as an editor and director with several production houses working on commercials, film trailers, and webisodes.

5:00pm. You've asked for it and here it is! A one day Voice Over intensive to give working V/O actors and actors with a working knowledge of basic V/O technique the tools to fine-tune their Spanish Voice Over skills, including copy analysis, interpretation, taking direction and reducing their accents of origin to sound more like a Neutral Spanish speaker.

The first half of the day, Jean-Marc will cover different vocal, physical and mental exercises to improve performance, technique and accent reduction in Spanish. You'll then apply the learned exercises to commercial copyreading. The second half of the day will focus on applying the learned techniques to narrations - Audio Books, Industrial, Medical and Corporate Narrations.

Jean-Marc is president of Berne Media Enterprises - a Spanish creative media consulting and production company - and a busy voice talent and Spanish voice over coach.

He is also a Spanish-English audiobook narrator, and the creative consultant for print and radio ads for HUD, the National Fair Housing Alliance and the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools. His list of commercial work includes Bud Light, McDonald's, Western Union, Timberland, Pollo Loco, McKinsey, Pfizer, VNSNY, Xfinity, NFHA, HUD, National Alliance of Public Charter Schools, Metro Cable and Eclipse Gum to name a few. He's narrated the Spanish audio book "Negocios," from Pulitzer Prize winning author Junot Díaz, the AP Spanish Princeton Review 2009 and "Yaks March In Washington," the first of a series of English-Spanish educational audio books. He also voiced the role of the World Grand Prix commentator for Disney Pixar's 'Cars 2' in Spanish. He now also forms part of the production team for the new Disney animated series 'The Octonauts,' which premiered on The Disney Channel in January 2012 and is now the #1 new children's animated series on Disney Jr."

In the summer of 2010 - Jean-Marc created an acclaimed series of in-person workshops, 'Power Marketing for the Voice Over Actor.' If you're pursuing Film and TV, it's imperative that you have either a film/TV demo or clips of your work to show agents and casting directors. You also need a demo or clips of your work if you're submitting on websites like Actors Access. If you don't have them, your competition is getting placed above you and you're probably not even being looked at by casting directors.

One of the best ways to get material for your demo are to do student and indie films as well as getting the experience and resume credit. However, sometimes getting your materials back from these projects is almost impossible and often when you do get it back the quality is so bad you can't use it.

So what do you do?

In this 5 week class, you'll have the opportunity to work ON SET and acquire usable footage to help develop and SHOWCASE your on-camera demo reel. Film casting director Eve Battaglia will work with you on two contrasting short film/tv scenes that will be shot on location with filmmaker and editor Michael Stever.

In the first class, you'll meet with Eve and Michael where you will be cast into two scenes. Scenes and partners will be determined according to each actors needs. In your next two classes you'll work to perfect both scenes with Eve. Your final two classes will be spent shooting on location with Michael. Within 6 weeks after completing this class there will be a screening of all completed scenes where you will receive your fully edited material in order to post on your website or add to your current demo reel.

This class is also PERFECT for those actors who have already been compiling material for a film/TV demo, but are missing certain types of roles. Actors may also bring in scene ideas for this class. Actors may also register as pairs to take this class.
