You see it’s not about replicating what your upline does or even what your sponsor is doing that determines the level of success you have in your business but ultimately it is you—what actions are you taking, what mindset do you have and what is your purpose that is driving you to build your business.. All these things are a direct reflection of the decisions you make and it is these decisions that will either make or break you because in the network marketing industry, it’s all about following the right leader and if you don’t show the type of leadership people are looking for you simply won’t attract enough new prospects and your network marketing business will fail like a sinking ship.

Leadership Qualities

A leader is someone who displays the right leadership qualities that makes them shine among the rest. They are productive, goal-oriented and very focused people. Becoming a leader is much like Martial Arts,  in order to reach the highest possible level of training you must be willing to develop and master your skills but more importantly your mindset, only then will you be ready.

It is only YOU who decides which side of the fence you want to be on.
It all comes from one decision and one belief about yourself, nothing else matters.

Some people have this mis-conception that in order to becoming successful you have to ‘fake it till you make it”. There is a big disparity between (appearing) as a leader and actually becoming one. It’s important to realise that people will get a sense for who you really are by the actions you take, the beliefs you have and the overall presence you give, therefore you need to always ensure that you are being truly honest with yourself and the people around you because the only person you will be fooling is yourself.

Once you make the transition to become a leader your core-beliefs will change giving you confidence and the drive to achieve your desires. When this occurs people will start to see you differently (in a better light) and take notice of you more, resulting in better business for you and even possible relationships in your personal life. Yes confidence is everything!—I should know I suffered from bullying all through-out most of my life simply because I had a lack of confidence in myself. Since I discovered network marketing and really aligned myself with having the mindset of a true leader all that changed, and it can change for you too.

How to Become a Leader

• Always be in a state of true peace and contentment. Let go of all past trauma and negative emotions that held you back (they only results in procrastination)
• Live life not in the state of scarcity but abundance. Everything you need you already have, what you have is already what you need
• Be in total control of the decisions and the actions you make. No one is going to build your business for you only you!
• Be consistent and have a crystal clear vision in sight of what you want to accomplish and have a plan on how to achieve it.
• Read a new piece of information everyday that is interesting, informative and educational. (No not a newspaper) and read a new book every week.
  In order to become a leader you need to obtain knowledge by consuming new pieces of information that no one else has spoken about. This is what separates you from the rest, see it’s not about how big your list is but above all it is how big your bookshelf is. The more knowledge you have about any given topic the more valuable you become and your presence will become more evident to the people around you.

There are many who disagree and say that true leaders are born and not made, some have the personality to become a leader and some don’t. I beg to differ. I think if you have enough drive, passion, commitment, courage, confidence and determination that is ALL you need, and the great thing is you don’t need to buy anything to become a leader, there is no forms to fill, no line to wait in, no set time all it takes is ONE decision and ONE mindset, the mindset of a leader.

The Skipping Syndrome

The reason why this is the case, is because almost every month a new product is in pre-launch, a new business is being marketed and a new marketing “guru” is being followed. All this causes confusion for the average marketer, so what they end up doing is skipping from product to product, business to business and following the advise of different “gurus” all regurgitating the same or very different sets of information. This is NOT how you generate a 7 figure income online, it’s how you become a dead-broke marketer very quickly.

How to Attraction Endless Leads and Distributors

Attraction Marketing is an alternative method to building a business online. Instead of using traditional ways of generating leads where you are sacrificing your time and money by calling your friends, family and co-workers, literally going nuts and trying to sponsor anyone who is 20 feet away from you into your business, you make a choice to focus your efforts on providing information of value up-front for free in exchange for their name and email. This way you are positioning yourself as a person of value and a leader. It’s a well known fact that people do business with who they like and trust, I first understood this while reading a book by Seth Godin called ‘Permission Marketing: Turning Strangers into Friends and Friends into Customers‘. ‘YouInc’ is the process of branding YOURSELF online and not your business. The truth is that no one wants to hear about your business. I know this because when people are searching on Google most of the time they are searching for solutions to a problem they are having such as not being able to generate quality leads or ways  to recruit more people in their current business. In order for them to want to join your business you have to to provide them with enough incentive and a good reason to do so, if you aren’t then you are wasting your time.

So why should you use Attraction Marketing to build your business online

• You brand yourself as a leader giving you credibility in your chosen niche

To increase your blogs credibility and gain your readers trust you must ensure you are doing the following:

• Be Relevant
  A lot of the time I see bloggers writing about random topics of interest because they think the more topics they cover more traffic they will generate…Wrong! You MUST focus on writing articles that speak to your target audience which means knowing who your target audience is, what topics you need to cover and stick to those when writing your articles. Writing random posts will only confuse your readers and put them off subscribing.
• Keep Up-to-Date
  The reason why most blogs fail to generate traffic and gain any presence online is that they simply do not post enough articles on a regular basis, this way readers become bored and end up never returning back. Simple solution is to keep it fresh! Always remember to post new content everyday or at least 3 times a week this will not only get you more back-links increasing your page-ranking but will let your readers know you are committed to providing them with value. This will also mean that it will be easier for you to submit your blogs to high-ranking website/blog directories.
• Acknowledge Your Readers
  Have you ever wondered why we usually always stay with the same doctor over long periods of time? It’s because we stick with the ones we trust the most. You need to acknowledge the same level of relationship you readers have with your blog by showing them you care. If someone has left a comment on one of your posts, let them know you appreciate their comment by personally replying to them as soon as possible, addressing them by their first name. Psychologists say that we respond better to things emotionally when it includes our own name and is talking about us personally, this has to do with the level of conditioning that we were brought up with when responding to our name with our parents and teachers as we were growing up.
• Social-Proof: Badge of Honor
  One of the best ways to gain credibility from your readers is to include badges on your blog which commend your blogs success. There are many different types of social proof badges you can include, the most popular ones are your website grade/SEO rank which you can get from WebGrader or blog directory badges when you submit your blog to their directory or is featured, Alltop and BlogCatalog are two high ranking blog directories which my blog is submitted to that provide a badge. Make sure your badges are placed in a prominent area on your blog so your readers can see it.
  
• Be Open and Honest
  Your goal is to create a level of trust with your readers so that they continue coming back to read and share your posts. The key to doing this and what most people fail at doing is simply being open and honest with what you want to accomplish. When your readers sense that all you want to do is generate traffic and make money they will turn off imediately—This is also why it is good practice not to clutter your blog with too many ads and banners. Now when I say be open and honest I don’t mean start posting your intimate thoughts for the whole world to see, but be truthful with your audience and speak from the heart because trust me your readers will know exactly what your intentions are so it is important you are always providing them with value and not focused on just making money from writing these articles and blog posts.

I hope now with these points in mind you can ensure that your blog will attract loyal readers and followers. Remember it’s not about how many articles you write but how many people are taking notice of your articles which is far more important.

It is this invisible force that drives successful people to know where they are now to where they want to be and what they want to accomplish.

1. Involvement: It is essential that you connect with your up-line and leaders in your network marketing company. By doing this you are actively seeking out the individuals who are already having success, all you need to do from there is duplicate what they do.
2. Participation: The greatest thing about Network Marketing is that you can rub shoulder-to-shoulder with top leaders in the industry and receive quality training which normally would cost thousands of dollars elsewhere. Make use of this and use it to your advantage.
3. Mindset/Habit: You could be in the greatest company in the world but if you sit like a lemon expecting success to come to you, you are sadly mistaken—Success comes to those who seek it. So you need to model what other successful leaders are doing and replicate their daily habits. How do they present themselves, how do they engage with prospects, what do they do on a daily basis and how do they do it.
4. Focus: Spend the majority of your time taking massive ACTION on productive tasks which generate money. For network marketers this is either selling or recruiting that is all you need to focus on doing. Everything else you should delegate to an outsourcing team or spend less time on them.
5. Leadership: Every great empire has had a great leader, the simple fact is people like to be led. Your business will only grow when you decide to grow first. In order to do this you must become a true leader by providing value and offering solutions to problems people are experiencing.
6. Commitment: Many marketers out there fail within their first couple of months, end up leaving the company their with and jump to another opportunity that “promises” it’s the greatest thing since slice bread. This is an easy way to go broke and stay broke. If you want any chance at seeing real success in Network Marketing then you need to make an honest commitment to yourself that you will persist in building your business however long it will take. This decision should be made not after you realise something is wrong but before you even join.

Pssst… Gossip travels FAST!

Have you ever wondered how and why gossip spreads like lightning when it comes to the media… Especially now with Twitter and Facebook it’s almost impossible to avoid some form of hyped up gossip story in the media—That whole Tiger Woods fiasco for instance. This got me thinking so after my my daily meditation (Where all my ideas come from) I finally realised the secret to writing persuasive and effective copy for your articles.

The simple secret to why gossip is so effective

They connect with the audience on an emotional-level through telling persuasive and compelling stories.—Stories definitely DO sell!
One reason why it’s so effective is that people like to relate and empathise with others facing similar situations so they feel less alienated. Another key component to a great gossip story is sensationalism.

Sensationalism–noun
Sensationalism is a manner of being extremely controversial, loud, or attention-grabbing.

If you want to write persuasive copy that glues your readers eyeballs to your every word then you need to include some elements which I mentioned already. However this comes with a warning: I’m not saying go out and write trashy tabloid style articles, but instead observe how they get their stories out to their audience, the descriptive language they use and the shocking sometimes controversial aspects and how they use it, ok it’s not the most “professional” advise to give but to be honest it’s the most effective technique you can use to create eye-grabbing articles and what’s great is that you can use the same strategy when creating Pay-Per-Click ads.

The counter-part to the equation

It’s scientifically proven that we give more attention to something when it’s provided in a visual form than written. This is why EVERY gossip story contains a photo or video clip to provide the extra bit of incentive for the audience to want to know more, in most cases it’s the first thing they look at. This can be applied to your copy to provide the same effect on the reader. For example, when talking about facts and statistics on say generating leads take a screenshot of your auto-responder and highlight a big circle around the areas most important and as a caption write a catchy statement like ‘OMG! 126 Fresh Leads in 24 Hours!!…’

These are just a few simple elements that came to my mind you can use when writing your articles. Remember copywriting is a skill and with every skill takes practice, so the more you do it the more you will develop that kick-ass copywriting skill you desire.

This raises a few questions I have regarding the future of how we market on Facebook given the many changes that we will see rolling out and what the increase in users means to internet marketers.

Facebook Spam will Increase

When it comes to marketing, Facebook is like a crowded and noisy subway train in Central Tokyo. Every Facebook group has been ninja attacked left right and center with spam, ads for business opportunities and product launches it’s almost impossible to see a marketing related group without any.

Facebook War on Excessive Marketing

If you have been marketing on Facebook for awhile I’m sure you have received one of those annoying Facebook warnings—You know the one that says you have been abusing one of the features on Facebook. Now that the Facebook platform is expanding , this ultimately will put more pressure on individuals who wish to use Facebook as a marketing medium as Facebook are putting all the stops on making sure marketers who advertise about MLM, Network Marketing, Direct Sales or anything Working from Home related will run the risk of having their account removed. Unfortunately this is the case for many online communities due to the few who ruin it for the many.

End of Facebook Marketing? You Must be Joking!

There is an upside to all of this however. The positive side to the recent news will mean that those that learn how to market on Facebook properly by building honest relationships with targeted people and not spam their business opportunities across the platform will have a greater chance to make use of the 400 Million users on Facebook. Make use? Think of Facebook as a huge ocean full of all kinds of different types of fish (Your Prospects), it’s now easier than ever to take your pick and reel them in, but you need to know how. When I learned how to build relationships and generate leads using Facebook I never received those warning messages and discovered how to leverage Facebook in a way that helped me build my business online. So to all those that are excited by the news don’t risk jumping into a deep dark hole, first learn how to properly market on Facebook and what this involves then once you have a clear understanding you are then ready to take full advantage of what Facebook has to offer.

The Internet is expanding like never before with social networks such as Facebook reaching 400,000,000 active users using the site, therefore it’s essential that your content gets distributed and shared to as many places as possible.

So how does Social Sharing work..

1. You publish content of value, relevant to your readers interests. The key to doing this is finding the right pieces information to use that provides a solution to a problem your readers are having. In other words, it must have a point for your readers to remember.
2. Now that your content is published it needs to be shared across multiple platforms for it to be recognised and read. You can do this in many ways, however this is the fastest way I know of that works. Firstly, you will need to be using the Mozilla Firefox browser for this to work, this is every Internet marketers secret weapon. You now need to install an add-on called OnlyWire – Social Networking Auto-Submitter. When installed each time you want to share your content you will use this tool to distribute it across 30 social networks on the web.
3. The next step is to lead the reader to share your content, you do this by providing a ‘call to action’. A call to action is basically a method used to get your reader to perform an action of some kind in this case to share your content. If  you are using a Wordpress blog you can do this easily, simply do a search for social bookmarking/social sharing plug-ins and you will find a selection of popular buttons that you can place on your blog for your readers to use. Some popular ones are TweetMeme, Digg Digg, Sociable, ShareThis, SexyBookmarks, AddToAny as well as the OnlyWire button.

Ask and you shall receive…

Now just because you place a social bookmarking tool on your blog posts doesn’t mean anything is going to happen. If you want your readers to actively share your posts then you need to tell them to do just that. The best way to do this is to place a call to action notice below every blog post asking your readers to use the buttons provided to share your post, you can have fun with your copy don’t make it sound so serious. For effective results you may want to use an arrow graphic to point to the location of your buttons and to also use a bold colour for the font so to make that section stand out from the rest of your content.

More Conversions = More Success..

When a user inputs their name and email address into your capture form or clicks on a link and purchases an affiliate product this is viewed as a conversion, because the general idea is that you are capturing them into your marketing funnel and converting them into a lead, that is the conversion process.

A lot of people in this industry are failing to generate even 5-10 leads a day simply because they aren’t converting people into leads, and this is why 97% of marketers are losing more money than they are making.

Lead Psychology.. Huh? Come again..?

‘Lead psychology’ is a term I came up with to describe the process a marketer must go through in order to successfully understand the types of people they will come across and to be able to identify their problems with ease.

• First evaluate where your traffic will come from – Facebook, Twitter, Article Marketing, PPC, Safelists etc.
  You need to do this because each traffic source holds different types of people with very different needs and problems.
• Discover what their major pains and struggles are, could be not enough leads, lack of marketing training, lack of exposure/branding..
• Think like your leads, put yourself in their shoes. e.g: most people using safelists and listbuilders usually have not a lot of money, so spend hours on laborious tasks such as opening hundreds of emails gathering credits which in return makes them very little money.

Here are some things to note:

• Pay Per Click Ads: Keep ads short and to the point.
• Facebook/Twitter: Spend more time on building a relationship than selling something.
• Safelists/Listbuilders: Keep message short but enticing, remember these people open hundreds of emails per day.

Give Them Just Enough..

This is the important part of this whole process. In order to convert more people into your funnel you need to master this one component. and that is to provide them with a solid tangible offer that will resonate with what they are looking for. Remember earlier I spoke about discovering their pains and struggles, once you know what that is then it is easy to offer them a solution to that. This could be a video training series you can offer them, an ebook, a recording of a webinar anything that is information based that will attribute to their needs.

Now the secret to this is just providing them with enough information to get them to click on a link or opt-in, what you don’t want to do is lay everything out on the table because you won’t have anything else to offer them. It’s exactly like poker, the trick is to hold onto your most valuable cards till last. So for example, if you were doing a video training series what you would want to do is drip-feed them information over a 5-7 day period leaving each video  incomplete, this will provide more value to your leads and increase the likely-hood of them purchasing your product.—If you have ever watched the tv show Heroes then you will have a pretty good understanding of how this works.

So if you are looking to increase your conversions and get more people to opt-in to your capture forms or buy your products you need to do the follow these 3 simply steps:

1. Explain to them the problems they are having
2. Provide a solution to that problem with a tangible offer
3. Get them to take an action in order for them to receive the solution
