Heading to Yankee Stadium tonight for game two of the world series – here’s hoping things go better for the Yankees than they did last night.

Great news for Hartford Whalers fans!  According to Greg Wyshynski at Yahoo Sports, the recent expiration of the ‘Hartford Whalers’ trademark has paved the way for the NHL to allow the creation of new Whalers apparel as part of their ‘Vintage Hockey Program.’

And so I said, "Housing boom?! What Irish housing boom?!"

Gmail is now a trending topic on Twitter as news of today’s outage spreads.  For a company that aims to “organize the world’s information” I’ve been surprised at their lack of transparency in situations like this in the past.  While I realize they’ve kept Gmail in perpetual ‘beta’ the reality is that people have come to rely on the tools Google provides on a daily basis.

I believe that users can accept delays or outages, but only if they’re respected enough to be kept informed.  That’s why I was glad to see their recent Twitter update announcing the outage with a link to additional information.  Hopefully, this openness is a trend that will continue.

Senator Lieberman sounds skeptical that a ‘public option’ for health care is the right approach.

With Al Franken declared the winner in Minnesota the Democrats may claim 60 seats in the Senate, but with disagreements like this its going to be difficult for them to effectively exercise the control of a supermajority.

The RNC is out with a new video exploring one aspect of the heath care debate that Democrats haven’t been too keen on discussing in much detail; how they’re going to pay for it all.  The short answer is “revenue raisers” easily one of my favorite political euphemisms.

In something of a jujitsu move it’s good to see the RNC harnessing Ed Schultz to make their point; particularly after his mean spirited and quite frankly shocking appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe earlier this week where he accused former Vice President Cheney of wanting Americans to die in a terrorist attack in order for conservatives to gain some sort of political advantage.

This is probably the first time I’ve actually seen someone “question the patriotism” of a political opponnent, and  I can only conlcude that Ed Schultz is either deeply disturbed or in the business of creating controversy to garner attention for his televsion show.  I’m just not sure which is worse.
