Jaguar Release Images of the new XK...

The XK was never going to fade into the background....

Following the arrival of the new Jaguar F Type, the XK hasn't simply stepped to one side to allow its baby brother have the limelight - oh no - its standing strong and Jaguar have even invested in two Limited Edition models, released later this year.
The XK Signature and XK Dynamic R will supersede all previous models except the top of the range XKR-S, and are plugged as being greater value for money and more visually appealing - their words, not ours!
The Signature is the more luxurious of the two releases, boasting 385bhp, 5.0L V8 engine, 20inch alloys as standard, reversing camera and soft grain leather interior - all with a £54,950 price tag.
The alternative is the Dynamic R, anticipated to be the more popular of the two. Built with the Jaguar Speed and Black Dynamic Packs as standard, the Dynamic R sits 109mm lower, with stiffer, revised springs and dampers along with Jaguar's Adaptive Dynamic suspension. The list price is £69,950 but you do get a choice of charcoal leather with ivory or red stitching, black suede roofliner and piano black veneers.
Both new models are available in coupe or convertible - with the latter costing £6000 more.
Jaguar are confident there is a still a place in their product range for the XK - only sales figures will answer that. Given the choice would you choose one of these over the new F Type?!?

In 2001 Jaguar began to introduce smaller, cheaper models such as the X-TYPE and S-TYPE which meant a younger audience were becoming interested, but were more likely to customise their vehicles. However there were no specialist suppliers around for this at the time, and Geoff’s own difficult experience in trying to find a mesh grille for his X-TYPE gave him the business idea that has enabled Adamesh to become the leading specialist in Jaguar styling accessories that it is today.

After a successful period selling products from his shed, in 2004 Geoff decided there was enough of a market for the products and gave up his full time job to concentrate on running Adamesh full time. In 2005 he moved into his first warehouse in Leighton Buzzard and moved again three years later due to lack of space as the amount of product lines kept growing. The products now fill a 140 page catalogue and Adamesh has a range of accessories for all modern Jaguars, from replacement wheel centres to full Grantley body kits. More recently Adamesh have entered the performance tuning market too, offering uprated exhausts, springs and brakes. Adamesh now employs a team of five staff who ensure stock is constantly monitored and the orders go out on time.

To ensure the company’s continued success, Geoff constantly monitors the market and customers changing needs. Looking forward as well as back is also important and Jaguars current range is well catered for as well as investigating suitable products for the newer models such as the F-Type. As the product lines continue to grow they must meet Geoff’s own personal high standards however, whether bought from Jaguar or manufactured for Adamesh themselves.

Growth has also mirrored the Internet with buying online being key to the company’s success. Geoff began selling on eBay, then migrated to the current website which includes all the products available in the printed catalogue and is the main sales channel. Recently Adamesh have also entered into the social media world, creating a new dialogue with customers on Facebook, Twitter and the like.

Other ways to establish a connection with customers and inform them of new products is at the many trade shows Adamesh attend. A new lorry was invested in this year and Geoff says “It’s amazing the number of people who say to us, I never realised I could get these parts for my car”

Jaguar XF: A History

The XF was Jaguar’s replacement for the S-Type and debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007 to huge critical acclaim. Designed by Jaguar’s design director Ian Callum, it was a significant change from the S-Type. In January 2007 the car was first shown publically as a design concept, the C-XF, with the final production model showing different styling, mostly around the lights and nose and taking inspiration from the oval mesh grille of the original Jaguar XJ of 1968.

The XF is built at Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham and was developed under the codename X250 at the Jaguar Whitely HQ based in Coventry. New interior features were included such as automatic opening air conditioning vents flush fitted in the dashboard and a rotating gearshift dial called the JaguarDrive Selector which rises out of the centre console. A new ambiance was created inside with the use of pale-blue backlighting to the instruments and a glove compartment which opens to the touch.

Jaguar began delivering the new models to customers in March 2008 with a range of V6 and V8 engines. The initial models had a range of names depending on country, including the SE, Luxury, Premium Luxury, Portfolio, SV8 and XFR. In the UK a model to appeal to the company car market was called the Executive Edition and SE Business with lower tuned version of the 3.0 L and 2.2 L diesel engines.

In the non commercial market Jaguar enjoyed success as a special version was announced in 2009 for the UK police force. Other models launched in 2009 were the XF Supercharged (including Adaptive Dynamics and Active Differential Control technologies), and the XFR featuring the new 5.0 litre supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III engine, a revised front bumper and spoiler with 20 inch alloy wheels.

A facelift was announced at the New York Motor Show in 2011 which included front and rear styling changes based on the original C-XF concept car along with internal trim enhancements and adaptive cruise control. The model also included a new four cylinder 187 bhp 2.2 litre diesel engine.

In 2012 the XF Sportbrake was revealed as an estate vehicle, available with all of the original saloon’s engines and a loading capacity of 550 litres with the seats up. In 2013 an R-S version was confirmed using the same 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine as the XKR-S. However it will differ from the normal XFR with bespoke 20-inch Varuna-design alloy wheels, and wider grilles.

In 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor show, Jaguar announced plans for a replacement of the XF after announcing its crossover SUV model. The new model will be a BMW series rival and feature the all new aluminium architecture used in the C-X17 design study. Read this MotorTrend Article for more info.

Jaguar unveils new SUV concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

This week Jaguar unveiled its first ever sports crossover vehicle – the C-X17 at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. It has been created as a design study showcasing the firm’s new modular aluminium architecture on which an exciting range of new Jaguars will be built.

Designed by Ian Cullum, Jaguar’s director of design, the concept includes a modular and scaleable vehicle architecture which is high-strength, lightweight and includes innovative efficiency upgrades. Jaguar hope to use this to increase production and grow their product portfolio, targeting high-growth areas of the premium market in a wider global audience.

It also signals the firm’s jump on the crossover bandwagon combining sporty performance and sleek design. The hope is also that the new model will emulate the success of the entry level Range Rover Evoque by sister company Land Rover.

Adrian Hallmark, global brand director for Jaguar said, “The C-X17 sports crossover represents and exciting new direction for Jaguar. Its purpose is to highlight our all new aluminium architecture. With this technical foundation we will dramatically expand Jaguar’s product offering, market potential and customer appeal. This new philosophy will bring technology from our luxury products into an accessible price segment”

So what can we expect from the SUV crossover? Features include:

Power provided by a new range of fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines to be built at Jaguar’s new UK engine plant
Top speeds of over 300km/h (186mph), as well as emissions below 100g of CO2 per kilometre
Refined on-road dynamics and sedan car-like handling, thanks to its low height
Use of cutting-edge dynamic technologies such as Torque Vectoring by Braking, in which the car intelligently uses its brake system to balance the distribution of engine torque to the wheels during cornering, reducing understeer and maximising grip.
4,718mm long and 1,649mm tall
23-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, J-shaped running lights and frosted-glass foglights
Painted in a lustrous Caesium Blue finish, with gloss black brightwork surrounding the windows
Grille is an evolution of the distinctive nose of the Jaguar XJ luxury sedan
Interior features Connolly leather leather on the instrument panel, seats, armrests, doors, floor and in the boot, with stitching on the saddle leather creating a tactile feel
Interactive Surface Console - an interactive multi-passenger infotainment hub runs along a central tunnel the length of the vehicle.

Jaguar's first product from the new architecture will be a new premium C/D segment sedan. Its global roll out will begin in 2015.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 Highlights

Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) is an annual hill climb featuring historic motor racing vehicles, held at Goodwood House, West Sussex. It is also one of THE places for performance car manufacturers to showcase their latest offerings and enter one off concept racing vehicles into the climb. 2013 saw the 20^th Anniversary year of FoS and there was plenty to celebrate. Adamesh were pleased to exhibit at the festival and here are our exclusive highlights from the weekend.

We set up on the Wednesday with our brand new exhibition trailer with orange Jaguar XKR on display alongside our White Defender 90. Inside the trailer we had a range of our most popular products for Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles on display including our off road lights from new brand Wilderness Lighting. With blue skies overhead, it looked set for a sun soaked weekend in Lord March’s extensive estate!

Events kicked off with the Moving Motor Show on Thursday, where visitors were allowed to test drive in all manner of vehicles, including several Jaguar models.

Day 1 (Friday) saw the Festival of Speed get underway with the Jaguar F-type inspired design concept Project 7 make its debut on the hill. The name acknowledges Jaguar’s seven victories at Le Mans between 1951 and 1990. You can see how it got on here:

Jaguar also wowed the crowd with the unannounced arrival of the Jaguar C-X75 in the Michelin Super Car Run. It can accelerate from 0-100mph in less than six seconds, and will reach a top speed of about 220mph. This was first unveiled as a concept car in 2010, but Jaguar has confirmed it won’t be put into production.

Also making their debut appearances throughout the weekend were the XJR , XKR-S GT and XFR-S. It wasn’t all work for us as we managed to take a break from our stand to visit Jaguar’s two storey pavilion. Couldn’t resist taking a photo of this XFR-S in stunning blue...

Day 2 (Friday) was the day after the night before and we found that Jaguar had been playing hard...

We also took a visit to the Top Gear stand and found they had been playing with this XJS – very strange bit of kit!

On the final day we were pleased to hear that the ‪Jaguar XJR 8/9 took final victory on the hill climb with a time of 45.95sec

A quick total up also saw that we sold a number of mesh grilles and wind deflectors with the warm weather. We had a great weekend meeting lots of great people, including Phil Weeden from Kelsey Publishing who tweeted this photo of our XKR. Thanks Phil!

All in all a great weekend and we can’t wait to see what Goodwood FoS 2014 has in store!

Jaguar to Debut F-Type Design Study at Goodwood

Jaguar has confirmed that they will be unveiling an F-Type design study, based on the F-Type convertible, at Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend (11 – 14 July). The unique vehicle will be unleashed on the famous Goodwood Hill Climb with the company’s Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross behind the wheel.

In addition Jaguar will also debut three new “R” vehicles in the UK for the first time; the brand new XJR, powered by a supercharged, 550 PS, 5.0-litre V8 engine and the limited edition XKR-S GT, which is the most track-focused road-going Jaguar ever produced, will both be driven up the hill over the course of the weekend. To give some celebrity appeal, six time Olympian Champion Sir Chris Hoy will drive the XKR-S GT on Friday 12th July in the Supercar Run, with Gran Turismo Playstation game produce Kazunori Yamauchi, taking the wheel on Saturday. The Jaguar XFR-S high performance saloon will also make its first public appearance during the festival.

Not forgetting their heritage fleet, Jaguar will also have these out in full force on the Hill throughout the weekend at Goodwood. These will include a record breaking Jaguar XK 120, an iconic Jaguar D-Type, a Group C Jaguar XJR-9 which won Le Mans in 1988 as well as the only Jaguar XJ13 in existence.
Visitors will also be able to view a range of the new Jaguar vehicles in the brand’s eye-catching two-story pavilion. Models on display will include the XFR-S performance saloon; the new XJR flagship and the recently released XF Sportbrake. The jewel in the crown, the new F-Type sports car will also be on show, along with a stunning new art installation, inspired by Jaguar design, created by Royal College of Art Students.

The new Range Rover Sport will also get its UK moving debut at the festival and will be driven up the Hill twice each day. Land Rover has chosen to show off the V8 model which, thanks to its 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine, can crack 0-62mph in just 5.3 seconds.

Adamesh Summer Driving Guide and Accessories for Jaguar Cars

It’s officially the start of summer this week, which means many of you will be getting out and about more in your beloved Jaguar. The higher temperatures and longer journeys will inevitably put extra demands on your vehicle, but a bit of extra planning and preparation before you set off, will ensure your Jaguar runs smoothly.

Adamesh have put together some reminders on how to look after your Jaguar for summer driving, along with our top recommended accessories to give you maximum enjoyment for the journey.

Ensure your car is regularly serviced and has passed its MOT, and then you have less chance of breaking down en-route. Try to book in your car at least 2 week’s before your trip.
If your car has been stored away over the winter, check your battery is in good condition. Our CTEK Battery charger and conditioner charges at a higher rate without gassing or damaging vehicle electrics with spikes of power.
Check your oil and water levels and make sure they are topped up before you start your journey. This will help avoid your car overheating. Keep extra water on board in case you need to top up water levels or keep hot passengers hydrated!

Inflate your tyres to the recommended manufacturer’s levels, as extra passengers add strain to your suspension, but be careful not to over inflate!
