Complete Guide for Customers & Businesses The introduction of new UPI Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) rules from 15 October 2026 has created considerable confusion among consumers and businesses.

Will customers have to pay for UPI?

Will sending money to friends or relatives become chargeable?

Will hotel and airline payments attract additional charges?

What about electricity bills, RTGS, NEFT and direct bank transfers?

This article explains the new UPI rules in simple language.What is UPI MDR?MDR means Merchant Discount Rate.It is a fee associated with processing certain digital payments made to merchants. Under the new framework, specified merchant UPI transactions above ₹2,000 can attract MDR.However, MDR should not be confused with a general UPI charge on customers.The important distinction is between P2P — Person to Personand P2M — Person to Merchant.

1. Sending money to a friend or relative If you use BHIM, UPI or another UPI application to send money to another individual, it is a P2P transaction.For example:- ₹5,000 to a friend- ₹50,000 to a relative- ₹1,00,000 to a family member- ₹2,00,000 to another individual These remain free under the new UPI MDR framework.Person → Person = No UPI MDR Therefore, people do not need to worry that sending a large amount to a family member through BHIM will suddenly attract 0.4%.

2. Paying a shop or business through UPIA payment to a merchant is different.For qualifying normal merchant transactions above ₹2,000, the announced standard MDR is:0.4%, subject to a maximum of ₹300 per transaction.Examples:.Payment| 0.4%| Maximum MDR₹5,000| ₹20| ₹20₹25,000| ₹100| ₹100₹50,000| ₹200| ₹200₹75,000| ₹300| ₹300₹1,00,000| ₹400| ₹300₹5,00,000| ₹2,000| ₹300The ₹300 maximum is therefore important for high-value transactions.

3. Does the customer pay the MDR? No.The MDR is a merchant-side payment-processing charge under the announced framework.Therefore, if your hotel bill is ₹30,000, the fact that the merchant may incur MDR does not automatically mean that the customer should be charged:₹30,000 + ₹120 UPI MDR.The government has also said UPI providers cannot impose hidden/platform charges on customers and banks have been advised to ensure merchants do not pass MDR on to customers.However, businesses may have separate convenience or booking fees under their own terms. These should not be confused with MDR.

4. What about hotel payments?Suppose you stay at a hotel and your bill is:₹30,000If the hotel falls under the standard merchant category, the MDR calculation would be:₹30,000 × 0.4% = ₹120But ₹120 is the merchant-side MDR calculation, not automatically an additional ₹120 payable by the customer.Before paying, however, check the final checkout amount because a hotel or booking platform may have its own:- Convenience fee- Booking fee- Service fee- Payment-processing fee These are separate from UPI MDR.

5. What about airline tickets?Suppose your air ticket costs:₹30,0000.4% = ₹120For:₹40,0000.4% = ₹160Again, these figures relate to the merchant-side MDR under the standard category.They do not mean that a passenger automatically pays an additional ₹120 or ₹160 merely because UPI is used.Airlines and travel portals can independently charge convenience or booking fees, so always compare the final payable amount.

6. What about BRPL electricity bills?Electricity payments are treated differently from ordinary merchants. For qualifying utility payments above ₹2,000, the announced special MDR is:₹5 per transactionTherefore, if you pay a:₹20,000 BRPL electricity bill the special utility MDR is ₹5, rather than applying the standard 0.4% rate. Again, this is not automatically an additional ₹5 that the consumer must pay.

7. What about RTGS and NEFT?This is an important point.RTGS and NEFT are NOT UPI.Therefore, the new UPI MDR framework does not automatically apply to:- RTGS- NEFT- Direct bank transfer- Internet banking transferFor example, suppose you have to pay a business:₹5,00,000and the business gives you its bank account details.You can make a direct bank transfer through the applicable banking channel.That payment is not a UPI merchant transaction, so the new UPI MDR does not apply simply because the amount is ₹5 lakh.Banks can, however, have their own applicable service charges depending on the account and banking arrangement.

8. Can businesses avoid UPI MDR by asking customers for bank transfers?

For businesses receiving large-value payments, direct bank transfer is a separate payment rail from UPI.Therefore, businesses may offer customers options such as:- NEFT- RTGS- Direct bank transfer- Cheque- UPIThe applicable banking charges and business policies should be checked separately.For high-value purchases, businesses should also maintain proper invoices and accounting records regardless of the payment method.

9. Should customers split a large UPI payment?

Suppose a hotel bill is ₹30,000..A customer might think:“Why not make fifteen payments of ₹2,000?”This is not a good strategy for avoiding MDR.The ₹2,000 threshold is part of the merchant-payment framework, and deliberately splitting transactions simply to circumvent applicable charges is not something customers or businesses should rely upon.The correct approach is to use the payment method that offers the lowest legitimate final cost.

10. How can consumers save money?

The most useful way to save money is not to worry about the merchant's MDR, because it is not supposed to be added to your bill as a UPI charge.Instead, compare the final price.For an airline ticket, compare: Airline website/app + UPI versus Airline website/app + card/net bankingversusTravel portal For a hotel, compare: Direct hotel booking versus Hotel payment link versus Travel portal versus Direct bank transfer, if offered The lowest final payable amount is what matters.

The 0.4% is the merchant-side MDR calculation and is subject to the ₹300 cap for the standard category. It should not simply be added to the customer's bill as UPI MDR.

Can I use RTGS instead of UPI?

Yes, if the recipient provides bank details and accepts RTGS. RTGS is separate from UPI.Can I use NEFT instead?Yes. BRICS Summit: Why It Matters So Much for India

The BRICS Summit being hosted by India is not just an honour or a big international event. In my view, it is a very important opportunity for India to increase its influence in world affairs and also to gain economically and strategically.

BRICS has become much bigger than it was when it started with Brazil, Russia, India and China. Today, it includes 11 countries and represents a very large part of the world's population and economy.

But how powerful is BRICS really? And what can India actually gain from hosting the summit?

India gets an important position

The biggest advantage for India is that, as the host country, India gets to decide many of the important issues that BRICS will discuss during the year.

India's focus this year is on resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainable development. There is also a strong focus on startups, small businesses, technology, trade, energy and better cooperation between member countries.

This means India is not simply arranging a meeting. It gets a chance to put its own priorities before some of the world's most important countries.

A rare opportunity to bring major powers together

The summit also gives India an opportunity to directly engage with leaders of countries such as China and Russia, along with other important nations from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

This is particularly important because India has to maintain good relations with countries that do not always get along with each other.

India has its own differences with China, but China is also one of India's biggest trading partners. Russia remains an important partner for India, especially in defence and energy.

At the same time, India has very strong and growing relations with the United States, Europe, Japan and other Western countries.

This is where India's position becomes important.

India does not have to choose one side. It can maintain relations with everyone and protect its own interests.

Economic benefits could be even more important

For India, the real success of BRICS should not be measured only by the final declaration or photographs of world leaders.

The bigger benefit could come from increased trade and business opportunities.

BRICS countries can work together on supply chains, technology, startups, small businesses, energy and investment.

India is also pushing for better opportunities for its MSMEs and startups to enter foreign markets. A proposed BRICS Startup Innovation Fund and greater cooperation between startup centres could eventually help Indian entrepreneurs find investors, partners and customers in other BRICS countries.

There is also the New Development Bank, which can provide money for infrastructure and development projects. If its role becomes bigger, developing countries will have another important source of funding besides traditional institutions such as the World Bank.

Can BRICS really influence world politics?

Yes, but it is important to understand its limitations.

BRICS is economically and politically important, but it is not like NATO. It does not have a common army or a single foreign policy. Its members often disagree with each other.

For example, India and China have their own disputes. Russia and the West have serious differences. Even some BRICS members have disagreements among themselves.

Therefore, BRICS cannot simply behave like one united country or alliance.

But its size gives it a strong voice.

When countries representing such a large part of the world's population and economy speak together on issues such as international trade, energy, development, global financial institutions or UN reforms, the rest of the world cannot ignore them.

India's bigger goal

I believe India's biggest strategic opportunity is to make BRICS stronger without allowing it to become an anti-American or anti-Western group.

India wants a world where there are several powerful centres, rather than one country or one group dominating everything.

At the same time, India does not want BRICS to become dominated by China either.

This balancing act is very important for India.

India wants good relations with Russia and China, but also with America, Europe, Japan and other countries. BRICS gives India another platform to increase its influence while keeping its freedom to make its own decisions.

What would make the summit a real success?

For me, the summit will be successful if it produces practical results rather than just another long declaration.

The most useful outcomes for India would be:

Better trade between BRICS countries
More opportunities for Indian companies and MSMEs
Greater cooperation for startups and technology
Easier trade using national currencies
More investment through the New Development Bank
Cooperation in energy and important supply chains
Greater support for India's demand for reforms in global institutions
A stronger voice for developing countries in world affairs

My conclusion

So, hosting BRICS is definitely more than an honour for India.

The real advantage is that India gets the opportunity to bring major powers together, set the discussion, promote its economic interests and strengthen its position as an important voice of the developing world.

BRICS may not become a military or political alliance like NATO, and its members will continue to have disagreements. But economically and diplomatically, it has become too large to ignore.

And perhaps the most important thing is this:

India does not need to choose between the West and the BRICS. India's strength is that it can talk to both.

If India can use this summit to increase trade, investment, technology cooperation and its influence in global decision-making, then the real achievement of BRICS will not be the summit itself — it will be the opportunities India creates from it.

भारत का भविष्य उसकी युवा शक्ति के हाथों में है। मुझे पूर्ण विश्वास है कि भारत का Gen Z केवल भावनाओं से नहीं, बल्कि विवेक, तथ्यों और राष्ट्रीय उत्तरदायित्व की भावना से निर्णय लेने की क्षमता रखता है।

भारत का इतिहास इस बात का साक्षी है कि जब भी राष्ट्र किसी चुनौती के दौर से गुज़रा है—चाहे वह कोविड महामारी हो, सीमाओं पर सुरक्षा की चुनौती हो या कोई अन्य राष्ट्रीय संकट—हमारे युवाओं, सैनिकों, डॉक्टरों, वैज्ञानिकों और नागरिकों ने अद्भुत साहस, अनुशासन और राष्ट्रनिष्ठा का परिचय दिया है। यही भारत की वास्तविक पहचान है।

यदि किसी संगठन, संस्था या समूह पर विदेशी प्रभाव, अपारदर्शी वित्तपोषण या भारत के लोकतांत्रिक एवं सामाजिक ढाँचे को प्रभावित करने जैसे आरोप हैं, तो उनकी निष्पक्ष, पारदर्शी और विधिसम्मत जांच होनी चाहिए। किसी भी लोकतंत्र की शक्ति कानून के शासन और सत्य पर आधारित निष्कर्षों में निहित होती है।

भारत की सबसे बड़ी पूँजी उसकी युवा चेतना है। इसलिए मेरा विनम्र आग्रह है कि हमारा Gen Z सूचना के इस युग में सत्य और दुष्प्रचार के बीच अंतर करना सीखे, आलोचनात्मक चिंतन को अपनाए, और किसी भी वैचारिक ध्रुवीकरण का उपकरण बनने के बजाय राष्ट्र निर्माण का सहभागी बने।

आइए, हम सब मिलकर एक ऐसे भारत के निर्माण का संकल्प लें जहाँ राष्ट्रीय एकता, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों, सांस्कृतिक विरासत और संवैधानिक दायित्वों का सम्मान सर्वोपरि हो।

आज भारत केवल एक विकासशील देश नहीं, बल्कि दुनिया की एक उभरती हुई आर्थिक और रणनीतिक शक्ति बन चुका है। इतिहास गवाह है कि जब भी कोई देश तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ता है, तो कुछ देशों को यह पसंद नहीं आता। इसलिए भारत में होने वाले बड़े राजनीतिक आंदोलनों को केवल घरेलू राजनीति के नजरिए से नहीं, बल्कि वैश्विक राजनीति के संदर्भ में भी देखना चाहिए।

यह एक स्थापित तथ्य है कि दुनिया के कई शक्तिशाली देश समय-समय पर दूसरे देशों की राजनीति और नीतियों को प्रभावित करने की कोशिश करते रहे हैं। इसलिए यदि भारत में किसी भी प्रकार के विदेशी हस्तक्षेप के आरोप लगते हैं, तो उनकी निष्पक्ष और गहन जांच संबंधित संवैधानिक संस्थाओं द्वारा होनी चाहिए।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में भारत की अंतरराष्ट्रीय पहचान पहले की तुलना में काफी मजबूत हुई है। जी-20 की अध्यक्षता, भारत की बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्था, डिजिटल क्रांति, मजबूत विदेश नीति और वैश्विक मंचों पर भारत की बढ़ती भूमिका ने देश का सम्मान बढ़ाया है।

मेरी राय में मोदी सरकार ने नई शिक्षा नीति (NEP), महिला आरक्षण कानून, डिजिटल इंडिया, यूपीआई, और विदेशी चंदे (FCRA) से जुड़े कड़े नियम जैसे कई बड़े सुधार इसलिए किए ताकि देश की संस्थाएं मजबूत हों, भ्रष्टाचार कम हो और भारत अधिक आत्मनिर्भर और सुरक्षित बने।

मेरे अनुसार नरेंद्र मोदी की राजनीति केवल चुनाव जीतने तक सीमित नहीं है। उनकी कार्यशैली यह दिखाती है कि पहले मजबूत जनसमर्थन और संसदीय ताकत हासिल करो, फिर बड़े और लंबे समय तक असर डालने वाले फैसले लागू करो। उनका ध्यान तात्कालिक राजनीति से अधिक स्थायी बदलाव पर दिखाई देता है।

इतिहास बताता है कि कई देश युद्ध से नहीं, बल्कि अंदरूनी मतभेदों और बाहरी शक्तियों द्वारा उन मतभेदों का फायदा उठाने के कारण कमजोर हुए। इसलिए राष्ट्रीय एकता, मजबूत लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाएं और देशहित हमेशा सर्वोपरि होने चाहिए।

लोकतंत्र में मजबूत विपक्ष होना जरूरी है। सरकार की आलोचना होनी चाहिए, नीतियों पर सवाल उठने चाहिए और जवाबदेही तय होनी चाहिए। लेकिन राजनीतिक मतभेद कभी भी देश की एकता, सुरक्षा और राष्ट्रीय हित से ऊपर नहीं होने चाहिए।

मेरे विचार से देशभक्ति किसी एक राजनीतिक दल की नहीं, बल्कि हर भारतीय की जिम्मेदारी है। सरकारें चुनाव से बदलती रहती हैं, लेकिन राष्ट्र हमेशा सर्वोपरि रहता है। यदि हम भारत को विश्व की अग्रणी शक्ति बनाना चाहते हैं, तो राजनीति से ऊपर उठकर राष्ट्रहित को सबसे पहले रखना होगा।

In my view, the acceptance of a minister's resignation should not be seen only through the lens of public pressure. It is also important to consider the larger political and legislative context.

The government currently has the parliamentary strength to introduce and pass significant legislation. However, for Parliament to function effectively, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha must be able to conduct business. Prolonged disruptions, regardless of which party causes them, delay important debates and legislative work.

From this perspective, accepting a resignation may be a strategic political decision aimed at restoring normal parliamentary functioning rather than an indication of weakness. A government may choose to remove a contentious issue from the political agenda so that attention can return to governance and pending legislation.

Another area that deserves serious national discussion is education reform. India has made remarkable progress through affirmative action by expanding opportunities for historically disadvantaged communities. At the same time, many citizens believe the reservation system should be periodically reviewed to ensure that it continues to meet its original objectives while also promoting merit, excellence, and equal opportunity.

There is a view that highly qualified students from the general category sometimes miss opportunities despite outstanding academic performance. Supporters of reform argue that admissions and recruitment in critical professions—such as medicine, higher education, the judiciary, and the civil services—should increasingly emphasize merit alongside social justice, ensuring that the country benefits from both excellence and inclusiveness.

This is not an argument against social justice, but a call for an evidence-based review of existing policies. Any reform should seek to balance two equally important constitutional goals: providing opportunities to disadvantaged sections of society while ensuring that institutions maintain the highest standards of competence and public trust.

A mature democracy should encourage reasoned debate on these issues rather than reducing them to political slogans. The objective should always be to strengthen institutions, improve governance, and create policies that serve both present and future generations.

In my assessment, it would be inaccurate to interpret this development as evidence that Dharmendra Pradhan was dismissed due to poor performance. Political leadership often makes decisions based on broader strategic considerations that extend beyond the record of an individual minister.

कर्ज़ माफ करना, मुफ्त लंगर बांटना, सब्सिडी देना, जाती के आधार पर आरक्षण देना, किसी भी राष्ट्र को अपाहिज बनाना है। समाज को कमजोर करना है।
कभी अचानक कोई प्राकृतिक आपदा आने पर सरकार की मदद जरूरी है, परंतु उसका राजनीतिकरण नहीं होना चाहिये। किसान व जवान भाईयों से पूरी हमदर्दी है। वर्षा के अभाव में बहुत किसान बर्बाद हुए, मदद जरूरी है, परंतु कर्ज़ माफ एक गलत परंपरा है। इसका दुष्परिणाम आरक्षण के रूप में हम भुगत रहे है, सब्सिडी के परिणाम स्वरूप कश्मीर आतंकवाद भी हमारे सामने है।
सक्षम बनाना, उचित शिक्षा, नीति,योजना, कार्यक्रम व opportunity उपलब्ध कराना ही सरकार का कार्य है।
कर्ज़ माफ के बदले फसल बीमा एक हल है। कर्ज़ माफ, कर्ज़ भुगतान करने वाले को निरुत्साहित करती है, सब्सिडी या आरक्षण कुछ न करने को प्रेरित करती है। सब्सिडी और आरक्षण का सबसे ज्यादा कुप्रभाव मध्यम वर्ग को प्रभावित करता है। सरकार कोई भी सब्सिडी को कर दाताओं से ही वसूलती है,
पानी बिजली गैस या अन्य सभी सब्सिडी का भुगतान जनता ही करती है। आरक्षण से बने जज, डॉक्टर, आईएएस, इंजीनियर इत्यादि से देश कितनी उन्नति कर रहा है ये हमारे सामने है।
कुछ लोग सरकारी विज्ञापन पर आक्षेप करते है, जो आवश्यक है,
विज्ञापन, जानकारी व चर्चा किसी भी संस्था के लिए आवश्यक है, विलासता नहीं।
अगर सरकार या संस्था अपनी schemes को बताएगी नहीं तो जानकारी कैसे देगी।

१. दोनों तरह के आर्थराइटिस (Osteoarthritis और Rheumatoid arthritis) मे आप एक दावा का प्रयोग करे जिसका नाम है चूना, वही चूना जो आप पान मे खाते हो। गेहूं के दाने के बराबर चूना रोज सुबह खाली पेट एक कप दही मे मिलाके खाना चाहिए, नही तो दाल मे मिलाके, नही तो पानी मे मिलाके पीना लगातार तीन महीने तक, तो आर्थराइटिस ठीक हो जाती है। ध्यान रहे पानी पीने के समय हमेशा बैठ के पीना चाहिए नही तो ठीक होने मे समय लगेगा। अगर आपके हाथ या पैर के हड्डी मे खट खट आवाज आती हो तो वो भी चूने से ठीक हो जायेगा।

२. दोनों तरह के आर्थराइटिस के लिए और एक अच्छी दवा है मेथी का दाना, एक छोटा चम्मच मेथी का दाना एक कांच के गिलास मे गरम पानी लेके उसमे डालना, फिर उसको रात भर भिगोके रखना, सबेरे उठके पानी सिप सिप करके पीना और मेथी का दाना चबाके खाना, 3महीने तक लेने से आर्थराइटिस ठीक हो जाती है। ध्यान रहे पानी पीने के समय हमेशा बैठ के पीना चाहिए नही तो ठीक होने मे समय लगेगा।

३. ऐसे आर्थराइटिस के मरीज जो पूरी तरह बिस्तर पकड़ चुके है, 40 साल से तकलीफ है या 30साल से तकलीफ है, कोई कहेगा 20साल से तकलीफ है, और ऐसी हालत हो सकती है के वे दो कदम भी न चल सके, हाथ भी नही हिला सकते है, लेटे रहते है बेड पे, करवट भी नही बदल सकते ऐसी अवस्था हो गयी है .... ऐसे रोगियों के लिए एक बहुत अच्छी औषधि है जो इसीके लिए काम आती है। एक पेड़ होता है उसे हिंदी में हरसिंगार कहते है, संस्कृत में पारिजात कहते है, बंगला में शिउली कहते है , उस पेड़ पर छोटे छोटे सफ़ेद फूल आते है, और फूल की डंडी नारंगी रंग की होती है, और उसमे खुशबू बहुत आती है, रात को फूल खिलते है और सुबह जमीन में गिर जाते है। इस पेड़ के छह सात पत्ते तोड़ के पत्थर में पीस के चटनी बनाइये और एक ग्लास पानी में इतना गरम करो के पानी आधा हो जाये फिर इसको ठंडा करके रोज सुबह खाली पेट पिलाना है जिसको भी बीस तीस चालीस साल पुराना आर्थराइटिस हो या जोड़ो का दर्द हो। यह उन सबके लिए अमृत की तरह काम करेगा इसको 3 महीने लगातार देना है अगर पूरी तरह ठीक नही हुआ तो फिर 10-15 दिन का गैप देके फिर से 3महीने देना है। अधिकतम केस मे ज्यादा से ज्यादा एक से डेढ़ महीने मे रोगी ठीक हो जाते है, इसको हर रोज नया बनाके पीना है, ये औषधि exclusive है और बहुत strong औषधि है इसलिए अकेली ही देना चाहिये, इसके साथ कोई भी दूसरी दावा न दे नही तो तकलीफ होगी। ध्यान रहे पानी पीने के समय हमेशा बैठ के पीना चाहिए नही तो ठीक होने मे समय लगेगा।

Kumbh Mela is held at each of the four places namely Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayag), Nasik and Ujjain once in every 12 years. It is known to be a time when spiritual energy travels all around the place during this holy event. It’s a social harmony where you get to see many saints and sadhakas gathering at one place. This event even gives you the chance of seeking the blessings of these pious saints.
The position of the Sun, Moon and Jupiter in different zodiac signs determines the location of the Kumbh in each of these places.
*Kumbh in Haridwar* : When the Sun is in the zodiac sign Aries and Jupiter is in Aquarius it is held in Haridwar.

Considering its relevance to the zodiac ‘Leo’ meaning ‘Simha’ in Sanskrit, the Kumbh is also referred to as ‘Simhasth Kumbh’.
It is the great bathing festival which sees lakhs of devotees coming together from across the world to celebrate this month long congregation. The ceremonial bathing takes place in the holy River Kshipra on the full moon day of Chaitra month and continues in different intervals during the entire month of Vaishakh, culminating on the tenth full moon day.

Kumbh Mela is a mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river. Traditionally, four fairs are widely recognized as the Kumbh Melas:
the Haridwar Kumbh Mela,
the Allahabad Kumbh Mela,
the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha and
the Ujjain Simhastha, although priests at other places have also claimed their local fairs to be Kumbh Melas. These four fairs are held periodically at one of the following places by rotation: Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayaga), Nashik district (Nashik and Trimbak) and Ujjain. The main festival site is located on the banks of a river: the Ganges (Ganga) at Haridwar; the confluence (Sangam) of the Ganges and the Yamuna and the now extinct (disappeared/ dried/ lost in time) Sarasvati at Allahabad; the Godavari at Nashik; and the Shipra at Ujjain. Bathing in these rivers is thought to cleanse a person of all sins.

At any given place, the Kumbh Mela is held once in 12 years. There is a difference of around 3 years between the Kumbh Melas at Haridwar and Nashik; the fairs at Nashik and Ujjain are celebrated in the same year or one year apart. The exact date is determined according to a combination of zodiac positions of the Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon. At Nashik and Ujjain, the Mela may be held while a planet is in Leo (Simha in Hindu astrology); in this case, it is also known as Simhastha. At Haridwar and Allahabad, an Ardha ("Half") Kumbh Mela is held every sixth year; a Maha ("Great") Kumbh Mela occurs after 144 years.

Science and Philosophy of YAGYA

In physical terms Yagya is a process of sacrifices of specific herbs in the fire as it is best way of sacrifice matter with the help of thermal energy of fire and sound energy of mantras. The fumigation of specific substances in the Yagya, fire is a scientific method of subtulisation of matter into energy and expanding its potential and positive effects in the surrounding atmosphere. The electromagnetic waves generated thereby help in transmitting; at cosmic level, the desired sonic signals stores in mantras. Modern scientific research has shown significant therapeutic application of Yagya.

The industrial wastes, rapid urbanization, deforestation, cutting of mountains, air and water pollution, disturbances in the ozone layer, radioactive waves etc have destabilised humans, animals, plants life style. Ozone layer depletion has been causing sunburn, skin cancer, virus, cataracts and weakening of immune system. In the houses/area where Yagya is performed, it creates a pure nutritional and medicinal atmosphere.

Regarding Yagya Dr. Hafkine has mentioned that “mixing ghee and sugar and burning them creates smoke which kills the germs of certain diseases and secretion takes place from some glands relate to the wind-pipe, which fill our heart and mind with pleasure. Sugars present in Havishya have great power to purify the atmosphere. It kills the germs of T.B., measles, smallpox and cow-pox, remarks Prof. Tilward. According to Dr. Shirowich, a Russian scientist has remarked that (i) Cow’s milk contains great power of protection from atomic radiation; (ii) Houses having cow-dung covered floors enjoy complete protection from atomic radiation; (iii) If cow’s ghee is put into Yagya fire, its fumes lessen the effect of atomic radiation to a great extent.

The specific herbs required for medicinal hawan are Amla, Arjuna, Ashoka, Ashvgandha, Bakuchi, Bilva, daruharidra,ashapuri dhoop, Guggul, haritaki, nagakesar, neem ke beej, Pippali, Shatavri Tagara and Samidha sticks along with camphor, Cow ghee, dhaan, sugar, dried cow dung (uple).

The four Vedas also signify the philosophy of eternity role of Yagya and Gayatri. Atharveda also deals with sound therapy of mantras for treatment of human system at the physical, psychology and spiritual level. Samveda focus on musical chanting of mantra and fine form of Yagya is process of mental oblation on the surface of emotions through cosmic radiation of sound energy. Yajurveda contains the knowledge of performing of Yagya as scientific experiments for global welfare.

Independence Day India 15^th August 1947 midnight.

How many knows why and how this and date and midnight was chosen? When struggle of Independence was so intensified in 1940, When Subhash Chander ji’s aggression was at peak, why it took so long. Let us look into each of the above and find out the answers.
Why 1947?
The awakening of masses by Gandhi ji and the activities of Bose behind the scenes, which had intensified during 1940s, were cause of concern for the British. Just after World War II in 1945 the financial position of England was very weak; it was almost on the verge of bankruptcy. They were struggling to rule their own country, let alone their colonies. So, they made up their mind to free colonies like India. Lord Wavell initiated talks with Indian leaders for Indian Independence. Despite several disagreements and disruptions, momentum was gaining. In Feb 1947, Lord Mountbatten was appointed as the last viceroy of India to take charge of the transfer of power. Initially June 1948 was decided for transferring of power from England to India
Immediately after taking over charge in Feb 1947, Lord Mountbatten had begun series of talks with Indian leaders for a consensus, due to conflicts between Jinnah & Nehru on the matter of partition. Jinnah’s demand for a separate nation had instigated large scale communal disturbances across India. (This was certainly expected by Mountbatten as his policy was to weaken India.) In such circumstances he decided to pre-pone the date of independence by almost a year, from 1948 to 1947.
Why 15th Aug?
It was Lord Mountbatten who had personally decided the date of Aug 15 because he had considered that date to be very lucky for him. During the World War II, it was on Aug 15, 1945 the Japanese Army had surrendered before him (Lord Mountbatten was the commander of the allied forces).
Why midnight?
When the date of independence was decided and announced to public, there was an outrage among astrologers across the country because 15-Aug-1947 was an “unfortunate & unholy” date according to astrological calculations. Alternative dates were suggested but Lord Mountbatten was adamant on his lucky date, Aug 15. The compromised formula, astrologers suggested was the midnight between Aug 14 and 15 due to the simple reason that the day according to English starts at 12 AM, but according to Hindu calendar, starts at sunrise. Astrologers had insisted that the speech of acknowledgement of transfer of power be done within the 48 minutes in “Abhijeet Muhurta” between 11:51pm & 12:39am. Nehru had to deliver a speech only within that timeframe and an additional constraint was that the speech had to end by 12 AM, so that the holy conch (Shanka) is blown to herald the birth of a new nation at the stroke of midnight hour, and the rest is history. Nehru chose to give his famous 'Tryst with destiny' speech (first after independence in Parliament) in English and not Hindi or Hindustani. The number of English speakers and its influence has only increased after the British left.

कांवड़ रूद्रभिषेकः

कांवड़ मेला, लाखों श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था का मेला है। इसमें न सिर्फ श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था ही निहित है बल्कि धर्मनगरी के हजारों व्यापारियों की अर्थव्यवस्था की रीढ़ भी माना जाता है। भोले बाबा तो ‘आशुतोष’ अर्थात शीघ्र प्रसन्न होने वाले हैं, भक्त शिव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए उनका जलाभिषेक करते है| सावन मास के शुरू होते ही कांवड़ यात्रा भी आरंम्भ हो जाती है इस यात्रा मे शिव भक्त जिन्हे कांवड़िया भी कहा जाता है, भगवान शिव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए शिव भक्त हरिद्वार, गंगोत्री या गोमुख से गंगा जल अथवा अपने शहर के आस पास की नदियों अथवा तालाब से जल ऊठा कर एक लम्बी पैदल यात्रा पर निकल पड़ते है, चाहे कितने भी कष्ट हो उनको पर वह शिव भक्ति मे लीन होकर सब सहते हुए, कांवड़ियों का अनवरत प्रवाह चलता ही रहता है अहर्निश और सावन मास की शिव अवतरण वाले दिन, शिवलिंग पर अर्पण कर देते हैं तथा अपनी यात्रा को पूर्ण समझते हैं।

शिवरात्री (श्रावण कृष्णपक्ष त्रयोदशी +चतुर्दशी) पर भगवान (शंकर) आशुतोष के जलाभिषेक का विशेष महत्व है।

लाखों की संख्या में भक्तगण बम-बम भोले की जयघोष के साथ जब रास्ते में चल रहे होते हैं तो सभी उनकी सेवा तथा स्वागत के लिए पलकें बिछा देते हैं। कांवड़ में भरे गांगा जल को जमीन पर भी नहीं रखा जाता यह भगवान के महावाक्यों के मान-सम्मान का प्रतीक है।

इस विषय में धर्माचार्यों के अलग अलग मत है, पहला कि, ऐसा मानना है की समुंद्र मंथन सावन के महिने में ही हुआ था और जब समुंद्र मँथन के दौरान हलाहल नामक विष निकल आया जो समस्त संसार का नाश कर देता तब भगवान शिव ने ही आगे बढकर उस विष को पी लिया ओर अपने कण्ठ में जमा कर लिया जिस कारण उनका कण्ठ नीला पड गया और वह नीलकण्ठ महादेव के नाम से भी जाने गये, विष की गर्मी के काऱण सभी देवताओ ने गंगा मां का जल लेकर शिव के मस्तक पर जल डाला, जिससे शिव को शान्ति मिली, इसलिए ही सावन के महिने में गंगाजी के जल से शिव का जलाभिषेक किया जाता है और यहीं से कांवड यात्रा की शुरूआत हुई। दूसरी यह है के सतयुग में भगवान विष्णु के अवतार भगवान परशुराम ने सर्वप्रथम अपने माता पिता को पृथ्वी के चारों धर्मस्थलों की यात्रा कांवड़ से ही कराई थी। इसके बाद त्रेता युग में श्रवण कुमार को भी जब यह पता चला कि उनके अंधे माता पिता पवित्र स्थानों के जल से ठीक हो जाएंगी तो उन्होंने भी अपने माता पिता को कांवड़ में बैठाकर ही यात्रा कराई थी। तब से श्रावण मास में लाखों शिव भक्त भगवान शिव के जयकारों के साथ धर्मनगरी से गंगा जल भरते हैं और फिर संकल्प लेते हैं। इस तरह नियमों का पालन करते हुए कांवड़िए बाबा धाम आते हैं और जलाभिषेक करते हैं। कांवड़ के एक तरफ का जल शिवलिंग के लिए होता है और दूसरी तरफ का जल वासुकीनाथ के लिए। एक अन्य पात्र में भी जल होता है जिसका उपयोग शुद्धि के लिए होता है। कुछ कांवड़िए अपने साथ अपनी पत्नी और बच्चों के नाम से भी जल ले जाते हैं।

मुख्यतः कांवड़ 3 प्रकार की होतीं हैं।

1. डाक कांवड़/बैकुंठी कांवड़- ये यात्रा अखंड चलती है जिसको डाक कांवड़ कहा जाता है निरंतर जीप, वैन, मिनी ट्रक, गाड़ियाँ, स्कूटर्स, बाईक्स आदि पर सवार भक्त अपनी यात्रा अपने घर से गंतव्य स्थान की दूरी के लिए निर्धारित घंटे लेकर चलते हैं और अपने इष्ट के प्रति अपनी श्रद्धा व्यक्त करते हैं बहुत सी कांवड़ तो बहुत ही विशाल होती हैं जिनको कई लोग उठाकर चलते हैं।

2. झूला कांवड़- इसमें केवल एक ही व्यक्ति होता है, थक जाने पर कांवड़ को पेड़ पर या हेंगर पर रख कर विश्राम करते हैं। स्थान -स्थान पर कांवड़ सेवा शिविर आयोजित किये जाते हैं,जिनमें निशुल्क भोजन, जल, चिकित्सा सेवा, स्नान विश्राम आदि की व्यवस्था रहती है मार्ग स्थित स्कूलों, धर्मशालाओं, मंदिरों में विश्राम करते हुए ये कांवड़ धारी, रास्ते में स्थित शिवमंदिरों में पूजार्चना करते हुए नाचते गाते, “बम बम बोले बम ” भोले की गुंजार के साथ चलते हैं।

परमाणु बम के जनक J. Robert Oppenheimer ने परमाणु बम के पहले परीक्षण के बाद एक साक्षात्कार में कहा की परमाणु बम बनाने की प्रेरणा उन्हें श्री मद्भागवत गीता से मिली है।
यहाँ व्यास लिखते हैं कि “जहां ब्रहास्त्र छोड़ा जाता है वहीं 12 व्रषों तक पर्जन्यवृष्ठी नहीं हो पाती।“

आत्मा पर ठेस लगी जब अन्ना जी का टी वी पर उनका श्री अरविन्द केजरीवाल की जीत के बाद के बयान सुन कर, आज उनकी जीत पर शाबाशी संतोष ख़ुशी व आशीर्वाद देना कुछ ऐसा लगा के चढ़ते सूरज को सलाम लगा, अवसर वाद लगा!

जबतक केजरीवाल की जीत से आश्वस्त नहीं थे तब तक अपना नाम का इस्तेमाल करने पर रोक, चंदा लेने में घोटाला, अनशन वाले फण्ड का गलत इस्तेमाल व राजनीति में अन्ना जी कि छवि को कैश करना शामिल था आज जीत के बाद के तेवर पूरा यू टर्न था!

अगर आज के बयान को ठीक माने तो इसे अवसरवाद कहा जायेगा, अगर केजरीवाल जी के चरित्र से या कार्य से आप संतुष्ट थे तो, इलेक्शन से पहले आशीर्वाद दिया होता!

Low blood pressure or hypo tension refers to the fall in blood pressure below normal. It is a condition in which the action of the heart, in forcing the blood through the arteries, is weak. This may be a direct outcome of a weakened and devitalized system. While the normal limits are defined by the World Health Organisation as 140 mm / gh systolic and 90 mm/gh diastolic, it has now been reduced to 120 mm/gh systolic and 80 mm/gh diastolic in the US. Anything above that is high blood pressure or hypertension. Anything below is the low blood pressure.

Symptoms:

The patient with chronic low blood pressure may complain of lethargy, weakness, fatigue, and dizziness. The patient may faint, especially if arterial pressure is lowered further when he assumes an erect position. These symptoms are presumably due to a decrease in per fusion of blood to brain, heart, skeletal muscle and other organs. Symptoms like depressions below eyes, drying of lips, hair fall, insomnia, inferiority complex will develop.

Root causes:

Low B.P (Blood Pressure) occurs due to lack of appetite, weakness of dhatus, and reduction of fat. The most important cause of low blood pressure is faulty nutrition .It makes the tissues forming the walls of the blood vessels over relaxed, and flabby or stretched. This results in less supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. Malnutrition can result from a diet deficient in calories, proteins, vitamin C, or almost any one of the B vitamins.

Sometimes the blood pressure falls rapidly because of loss of blood. Low blood pressure may also develop gradually because of slow bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, or bladder. Emotional problems are a far more frequent cause of low blood pressure. To a laser degree, prolonged disappointments and frustration may result in a subnormal blood pressure.

Herbal Home recipe to control low BP

Remedy using basil leaves and honey:

1. Crush 15 thoroughly washed basil leaves

2. Place it on a sieve and extract its juice

3. Add 1 tsp of honey to this juice

4. Mix well

5. Drink 2 times a day

Recipe Remedy using raisins:

1. Soak 10-15 raisins overnight in water

2. Eat them on an empty stomach next morning

3. Follow this with 1 glass of water

4. Avoid eating or drinking anything for 1 hr after this

And even if it does, the [miscarriage] rate is very high." The quality of sperm from study subjects was assessed on the basis of density (number), motility, and morphologic abnormalities. Spermatozoa from smoker’s possessed significantly decreased density and motility compared with non-smokers (p 0.001). 75% of smokers versus 26% of non-smokers had a sperm density under 40 x 10 million/ml.

Smoking cigarettes affects a man’s ability to maintain his erection. Erection occurs when there is a swift flow of blood to the penis. If something interferes with the blood flow, such as chemicals released during smoking, flow of blood may drop. Ranging from sociocultural, religious, biological and scientific, there is every reason why we must heartily enjoy the festival and cherish the reasons for its celebrations.

Mythological Significance
Holi gets us close to our religion and our mythology as it is essentially the celebration of various legends associated with the festival.
Foremost is the legend of Prahlad and Hiranyakshyap. The legend says there once lived a devil and powerful king, Hiranyakshyap who considered himself a god and wanted everybody to worship him. To his great ire, his son, Prahlad began to worship, Lord Vishnu. To get rid of his son, Hiranyakshyap asked his sister, Holika to enter a blazing fire with Prahlad in her lap, as she had a boon to enter fire unscathed. Legend has it that Prahlad was saved for his extreme devotion for the lord while Holika paid a price for her sinister desire. The tradition of burning Holika or the 'Holika dahan' comes mainly from this legend.

Holi also celebrates the legend of Radha and Krishna which describes the extreme delight; Krishna took in applying colour on Radha and other gopis. This prank of Krishna later became a trend and a part of the Holi festivities.

Mythology also states that Holi is the celebration of death of Ogress Pootana who tried to kill infant, Krishna by feeding poisonous milk to it.
Another legend of Holi which is extremely popular in Southern India is that of Lord Shiva and Kaamadeva. According to the legend, people in south celebrate the sacrifice of Lord of Passion Kaamadeva who risked his life to revoke Lord Shiva from meditation and save the world.

Also, popular is the legend of Ogress Dhundhi who used to trouble children in the kingdom of Raghu and was ultimately chased away by the pranks of the children on the day of Holi.

Celebration of the various legends associated with Holi reassures the people of the power of the truth as the moral of all these legends is the ultimate victory of good over evil. The legend of Hiranyakashyap and Prahlad also points to the fact that extreme devotion to god pays as god always takes his true devotee in his shelter.

Following the tradition when people perform Parikrima (circumambulation or going around) around the fire, the heat from the fire kills the bacteria in the body thus, cleansing it.

2.       Place your MOBILE / CELL-PHONE (   Hand-Phone) inside your microwave and shut the door.

3.       Using your home-phone or other   phone, dial your mobile number

       If your mobile inside the   microwave lights up and rings..you 
have a leak. Throw the microwave away   and get yourself a new one.

5.       If there is no light or response   from your mobile, then your microwave is OK.no leakage.
