New Product Supplied With OPEC

The Open Path Eddy Covariance System can now include the popular Gill Windmaster sonic anemometer.
Gill Instruments Ltd has recently upgraded the Windmaster such that it now has a faster sampling speed of 20Hz, making it suitable for eddy covariance experimentation.

This can be synchronised with the OP-2 Open Path Analyser without the need for a bulky sensor input box. It is also significantly less expensive than the R3-50 sonic anemometer previously offered.
The OPEC system is, however, available with either sonic anemometers

ADC is proud to announce the introduction of automatic control of CO2, H2O and PAR when using the LCpro+ fitted with an Arabidodpsis chamber. To provide more information on using the LCpro+ photosynthesis system complete with a microclimate controlled Arabidopsis chamber, we have prepared a new Application Note, Methods and Materials #AN026 The application note provides information on how CO2, H2O and PAR can all be automatically controlled within the LCpro+ Arabidopsis chamber. It also advise when an 11mm diameter window chamber or 16.5mm diameter window chamber should be used. Click here to download a pdf relating to this Application Note A poster featuring this chamber was recently presented in conjunction with the University of Sheffield at the 2006 Ecological Society of America meeting in Memphis.
NEW chlorophyll content meter

Introduced by ADC BioScientific, the new CCM-200 plus is the next generation of hand-held devices for measuring chlorophyll content. It is the only commercially available lightweight chlorophyll content measurement system that is able to store 160,000 data sets, calculate averages of data sets, and features a graphic display. These latest features complement the reliable and proven technologies of the previous CCM-200.

The CCM-200 plus is a non-destructive, battery portable meter, designed for rapid screening. Because it has been developed to provide unmatched data storage, analysis and transfer, the CCM-200 plus is the most user friendly instrument for plant researchers.

The vast integral data storage of the CCM-200 plus dispenses with the need for an external data logger, computer or frequent returns to the laboratory to download data. Stored data can be reviewed in the field on the display. Once back in the laboratory data is quickly and easily transferred to a PC via USB or RS232. This makes the CCM-200 plus the ideal instrument for both research and teaching.

The CCM-200 plus replaces the CCM-200 with immediate effect, and all orders will now supply a CCM-200 plus.

The most portable Liquid Fluorometer for analysing liquid samples in the field

Exceptionally portable

The GFL-1a enables scientists, consultants and civil engineers to analyse samples quicker and easier than ever before. It weighs only 3kg - less than half the weight of older transportable fluorometers. A rugged water tight case enables the GFL-1a to access even the most remote and challenging field sites. The GFL-1a is powered by an internal, rechargeable Ni-MH battery, providing up to 36 hours of continuous field use.

Versatile

The GFL-1a is suitable for a wide variety of fluorescence monitoring applications. The unique interchangeable cuvette system allows both discrete and flow through samples to be quickly and easily analysed. Easily interchangeable filter sets are available for a wide variety of wavelengths to accommodate most tracer dyes, including Rhodamine WT and Fluoroscein, and for a host of other fluorescence applications.

Reliable and accurate

Using the latest miniaturised electronics and fluorescence detection technology, the GFL-1a provides the performance and accuracy associated with a laboratory system in a field portable device.

A low power consumption LED solid-state source provides fast excitation of a compound in liquid.

A silicon photo diode detector provides outstanding data stability.

A novel compact dual beam optical path provides both a reference and measurement channel to compensate for temperature, source and detector variations.

Single or multipoint calibration curves can be generated using known standards allowing real-time concentrations to be displayed. The GFL-1a can monitor compounds down to PPT levels. For example 10 PPT for fluorocein and 30 PPT for Rhodamine WT.
